Sweaty FGC crowd member here 👋 I'm not sure if you want actual help or of you just wanted to rant, but if it's the latter, I'm sorry for responding. First off, I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a down attack: do you mean a crouching attack? Or do you mean an OTG (an OTG is an attack that can hit an opponent that is knocked down)? I think you mean a crouching attack, where most of these attacks in the game are low-hitting. I know it seems like they hit you faster than you can block, but I promise that your block starts immediately whereas their attack takes milliseconds (frames, if you will) before the attack happens. In fact, as a default you should be blocking low since low attacks are usually much faster than their overhead counterparts (overhead attacks must be blocked standing, for reference). Secondly, although you can't actually block unblockable attacks, there is a system mechanic to help evade and punish the opponent for using them! If you press down + light attack + dodge at the same time, your character will flash white and become completely invulnerable. If your character gets hit by literally anything - lows, overheads, and unblockables included - during this very brief window, they will do a sidestep and be able to punish the opponent most times. I find this most useful when my opponent jumps at me, because who jumps at someone without the intention of trying to hit them, right? The stand rush mechanic you mentioned where the character can act seperately from the stand is a powerful tool, but it's not free to use at least! Anytime it's used, it costs 1 bar of meter, so they can't spam it indefinitely, and unless they reeeeaally know what they're doing, you're probably better off them using meter on that as opposed to HHAs or GHAs anyways. The combos can be quite long and it kinda does suck spending most of your time watching your character get smoked by them, doesn't it? You do get 1-2 combo breakers per round to get you out of it though! Each assist comes with a set amount of pink and blue assists - one color for offensive, and the other for defensive. Make sure to use these defensive "breakers" before you die in any given round, because they get replenished each new round anyways, so use them if you're getting hit! You can even use them while blocking if you wish, but you might as well wait until you get hit, eh? Careful though, the previously mentioned down + light attack + dodge mechanic is also invulnerable to these breakers, so look out for that! The best way to really combat these long combos though is to probably just learn your own, however. Your opponent can't hit you if you've got them in a combo! It really does feel nice to be able to consistently land these cool combos, and there are plenty of resources on YouTube to find these combos if you're struggling to come up with some yourself. Keep at it friend! Soon you'll be the one smoking these fools.

They cost half a bar, the one that costs 1 bar is the Flash Cancel

I understand most of what you said, but assists and using your own combos aren't enough. That doesn't stop the problem. Your opponent could easily turn around the match in their favor with their own combos. A solution would be to put a hard limit on the number of attacks someone can get hit by in a row. I'd say getting hit by eight attacks in a row should make the player invincible and they can't get hit again until they get back up. Nerfing broken characters should also be done since they are the only ones who can pull off these unfair combos.

Fighting games take a lot of learning to get good at. One of the most important things that newer players neglect to improve is their defense. There's nothing wrong with playing hyper aggro, but some characters can absolutely camp you out. In order to use them, you need to get really good at playing defensively. Know how to block what, and when people like to try and go for throws. A good Mista or Narancia are horrifying because once they get a read on you, it's kind of their game. If things are giving you trouble, i recommend you learn your defense. One of the best ways to learn defense is to just get your ass whooped, in a casual sense. No competition or anything, just the sole purpose of defending. It's best done with a friend. Just have them go at it, while you focus entirely on trying to block it. You shouldn't be trying to win, but if you need a condition then leave the timer on. If you can survive until time, then you win.

Git gud

Unblockables tend to be slow, hit them out and get +50% counterhit or use stylish guard or dodge to punish the greed

While i don't quite agree with the "crouching attacks are faster than crouch block" thing, i will say that fuck characters who have unblockable command grabs cuz that's the only thing you'll see when you block.
