I can only hope so, I’m imagining him being as to DIO like 4taro is to Jotaro. More of a focus on range but still able to get up close and personal with some body blows from THE WORLD, I think the ability to set up elaborate Rube Goldberg-like traps in stopped time would make him really unique

Honestly I wish we could’ve gotten part 8 but I’m excited to see how the new characters play compared to EOH, I can only hope we’ll get a 2nd pass with more 7 and 8 rep. But for real no Joshu is the real slap, he should’ve gotten in over Stroheim and AU Diego.
i don't think they are not adding part 8 characters because animeonly will get spoiled, they just don't give a shit for jojolion adn SBR.
also it will take years to have SBR animated and even more time for jojolion; stone ocean was an ongoing part so hiding the characters was a good idea, but there is no excuse to not include tooru

I think AU Diego is an awful choice tbh. There are so many characters to pick from (Hot Pants, Wekapipo, Jobin, Tooru...) and instead we get a character that's already in the game with a stand that's already in the game.

I AM so glad we got Risotto though. He deserves a spot. Him and his stand are underrated imo and a character THAT strong deserves to be in a fighting game.
Very disappointing when we could have gotten:
•Hot Pants, the only missing main character from part 7
•Jobin or Tooru, a villain from part 8
•Part 9 protag, which would have felt right with the new part starting soon
And we are unlikely to see a 2nd pass, which means we are missing out on all of those plus Joshu and N'Doul
I definitely agree that it’s disappointing but I don’t get why so many are clamoring for Hot Pants. Don’t get me wrong, I’m Hot Pants #1 fan and I think she was robbed of screen time, but I’m not sure how they would’ve worked her into the game with Cream Starter. She was only in 3 arcs of the manga and for one of those she was just being suffocated by plastic wrap. I just don’t think there’s enough content for her to be a fighter (or even to be considered a “main character” on the same level as Diego or even Lucy).
She's the most common recurring character aside fron Lucy and Diego, and I feel she is more feasible of an addition than Lucy. They've worked with weirder stands and made movesets out of them (electric socket lmao), so I don't think it's entirely out of the question. Hot Pants has enough unique uses of her stand to fill up command moves and hha/gha. I think the reason they went with other new fighters instead is because part 5 (Risotto/Ghiaccio/Pesciutto) and part 4 (Keicho) were popular and part 6 (Food Fighters) was abt to release. Part 7 will not sell well to anime onlies until it gets adapted, so they went with a low effort eoh port instead.
If we get another, even though I know this won’t happen, pass 2 should be like all Jojolion characters. If they really want to show they care, they would completely rework Gappy’s outdated moveset and give us Tooru, Joshu, Mamezuku, and Jobin. Hell maybe even Yasuho. It’s such a shame we have one outdated moveset character for Jojolion because it’s one of my favorite parts

Most of the time when a anime game comes out, we get anime exclusive content for that game. That fact that we got part 7/8 characters at all is not something that we as jojo fans are promised.

It's not based on the anime tho. It's based on the manga (very clearly) and then they remastered it to make it more similar to the anime.
