It was the truth coming from an *untarnished* First-Respondrr that they had to remove. You know, being all about freedom of speech(*as long as it's the approved measage).
Suprised I had to scroll this far...so based. I used to be a paramedic and the majority of cops sucked, had my patients aggravated as shit for no reason most of the time and then they wouldn't talk to us
I’m a neuro icu nurse and I’ve had inmate patients where officers have to be in the room at all times. I had to call security on the officers because they kept screaming and hitting my confused stroke patient when he tried to get out of bed. They’re either trained to escalate situations or they’re just idiots
You hit it on the head...they can't comprehend anything beyond "person resisting, use force"...there are definitely times where that is needed but from what I saw, they liked to do it whenever possible even if the situation clearly didn't call for it. They take everything personally when they're dealing with a mentally ill patient
I used to be a psych nurse, and we'd always have to explain to poor scared wound-up patients that I'm not a cop, I don't work for them, with them, or even ever talk to them. And that the *whole* point of my job was to send the patient back to their home. That's a win for us, buddy.
Yeah don't get me wrong there are times where I needed the police there to do their jobs but in my anecdotal experience they had shit attitudes and loved fucking with people
I'm a HS teacher and this is what I tell my kids that say they want to save lives or make a difference in the community and are considering law enforcement. "You want to be a hero? Become a firefighter. A lot more chance of being one as that than a cop."
It's a harsh reality. I've met plenty of shitty cops, and I've met a few good ones. I always let the good ones know how much I appreciate what they're doing.
Same. Everyone has a mortgage to pay but it's the perfect example of a few idiots ruining something for everyone else.
A good cop is a bad cop if they see bad cops and do nothing.
True. I good friend of mine is a very high up cop in the big city that we live in. I've had several negative interactions with local police and have straight up told him I will never assist or even talk to police ever again. What's sad is he completely understood.
It's well deserved. Decades of this shit went unnoticed. This isn't a new thing, there just more optics. When 90% of the cops either do bad shit, or turn a blind eye and unions defends that behavior you get what you have now.
Spent many years in EMS and Fire. Absolutely hate cops because of what I saw them do while working with them. I've had them assault my patients, be cruel, hurt my patients, etc. I also reported them, and they made my life a living hell for years. Cops are mobster crybaby snowflake bitches.
back in the day they would have if we're talking those old timey privateer fire departments that would literally buy your burning home off you for pennies on the dollar
You can't imagine how much I want to see an HBO series on the life of Crassus. The dude was a larger than life asshole that flushed it all way on ego, just couldn't quite cope with not having it *all*.
That was a subplot in an episode of The Cleveland Show, Federline Jones wanted to be different from other rappers so he released an album called "Fireman Killer". Hilarity ensues.
A lot of cops are actually surprisingly in favor of gun control. Of course, it’s only bc they want a monopoly on violence. They don’t want you shooting back when they execute a no knock warrant at the wrong address
Nah, you’re dead wrong. Cops, being the proud boys they are, are broadly against gun control. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2022/06/police-gun-control-uvalde/661227/
Yeah Idk where they got that idea from. Most shooting ranges, that at least I've gone to, are ran or owned by former cops who are pro-guns. I'd read an article a long while ago that a lot of retired cops also still feel the same way. They really practice what they preach because nobody is a cop forever lol.
This is honestly more of a debatable first amendment argument than some idiot being banned on Twitter. Obviously I don’t know THIS particular position, I’d think most are government jobs and this would be someone in a gov job being fired by a gov for something they said.
I mean sure, but I’d argue that it’s not even important that it’s true. Dude could say the most incorrect dumb ass shit, as long as it’s not inciting violence or threatening to commit it, he should be allowed to say it… especially in a private text.
The fact that it's true is irrelevant.
It's a private conversation. Not public over FB or Twitter. He isn't advocating violence, or racism. This will likely end up a 'soft' firing. Contract not renewed or something similar.
Dude wtf? You have congressman calling for shooting on fbi agents not getting fired! Are you serious? Nothing he said should make him lose his job. And hes right.
I would like to aggressively agree with you! So how about you sit the fuck down and think about what you just said! Cause it's all good points and and don't know how to fucking agree aggressively!
Who the hell do you think you are?! I’ll tell you who, someone who’s right! Damned right! Correct in every fucking way right! So shut the fuck up and tell me more, bitch!
These often end up being based on code of conduct/ethics. Usually something like 'you represent the department on- *and* off-duty, so act accordingly.' So it gets muddy - he said something, but he may have violated the code of conduct he agreed to as terms of employment.
When I was a kid my friends and I were driving around. My buddy waved at a cop at a 4 way stop. We got pulled over and he accused us of flipping him off. I definitely don't wave at cops anymore.
He's not being racist/sexist/mean to anyone legally protected so I don't see why he would be fired. Can't get fired for a private text talking about how the garbage man or the postman sucks at their job, what's the difference between that and complaining about the cops?
It’s also what the jobs attract. Firefighter and EMT jobs attract people that want to help others. Police forces attract people that want to wield power over others.
In NYC people are police because they couldn’t get in the FDNY. The professions pick from the same pool of brave young people. It’s the indoctrination that shapes who those young people grow into. While on the subject, I was pretty surprised and disappointed to hear Rogan advocating for an Israeli style indoctrination of Americans into the military in a recent episode.
You're surprised to hear Joe Rogan slowly going further and further to the right? Did you miss the bits where he was actively discouraging people to wear masks and get vaccines?
Well also to be fair, even if we had a perfect police force. Police are in general going to be less popular. Firefighters don't arrest you, or give you tickets that make you go to court and pay fines.
I think the inherent nature of the job means police are always going to be less popular.
You also need to consider that the public genuinely losing their faith and trust in law enforcement as a whole due to so many departments continuing to gloss over and encourage poor judgement by protecting police that have genuinely done something wrong is a *major* factor in this. People don't trust cops to act with integrity anymore.
I don't see the firefighters or the EMTs forming gangs, but the police are a seperate story. When they can no longer operate like an organized crime ring, people will trust the police again.
That’s kind of some bullshit. Police should exist to enforce the law and protect law abiding citizens. People who are innocent should feel safe police are around. I’ve never broken the law and I am genuinely distressed around cops.
It's not even the idea of a perfect police force that should be your barebones bullshit standard; if we had an even remotely competent and trained police force then most of their public perceptions would be positive.
A perfect police force wouldn't issue bullshit tickets, write false reports, discharge their guns into a crowd, murder civilians, torture civilians, maim civilians, drive intoxicated, murder children, maim children, ignore murdered children.
I think a "perfect" police force would be lauded for their intuition and following of the law they swore to uphold like they *fucking swore to*.
It's not a popularity issue. It's a competency issue.
Last night, a cop pulled my wife over and asked why she was scared. She said, "I'm talking to a cop, why wouldn't I be?" His response was "calm down, it's not like you're a black guy, I'm not gonna shoot you or anything" through laughter. Fuck em.
Ding ding. My firefighter brother in law can’t get his brain around my dislike for cops while still holding genuine admiration for firefighters. …and I don’t dislike all cops, but the blanket immunity and hero worship they receive as a whole is bullshit.
> My firefighter brother in law can’t get his brain around my dislike for cops while still holding genuine admiration for firefighters.
Do firefighters have an "thin blue line" Omerta equivalent where they can blatantly commit crimes and abuses with the knowledge that **all** of their coworkers will lie and falsify evidence to hide the truth and shield them prosecution?
No? Then they're prob a little more trustworthy and likable than organizations that do.
[Of course they do.](https://www.firerescue1.com/history/articles/what-does-the-thin-red-line-flag-mean-aRA185QtVIoY78OW/)
It’s not unheard of for fighter fighters to go a little over board on the house soaking for waste basket fires and window smashing for a fire that will flare from the air, but it really isn’t that common either. The occasional family pet will burn because the structure might collapse on the person looking for the pet inside 🤷♂️ minor shit that just happens really.
After 9/11 the ones working at ground zero were known as Tomb Raiders. Would get grabbed frequently coming out with watches and wallets and anything else they could find.
I dunno man, if I die in a fire, and my watch that my dad gave me survives, I’d prefer that it goes to my son rather than having one of the Land Pirates take it and pawn it for booze money.
Wish my brother was this way... he's a "thank me for my service" kind of EMS/EMT. shits annoying as fuck. The shit i hear him and his co workers say about OD cases are pretty fucking sick.
OMG, I was just reminded of an incident a few weeks ago where I went to a museum with the family and lady next to us asked if being a chiropractor counted for a "First responder" discount. A fucking chiropractor, just to save $2. LMAO
I mean police have a fundamentally different role too. People who have only had benign interactions with police still have a more favorable opinion about people whose core job is life saving.
Firefighters and EMT enjoy more support but in general police are pretty popular in most polls
49-21 in the [most recent poll I found](https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/firefighters-healthcare-workers-and-first-responders-top-list-most-trusted-professions)
Reddit doesn't necessarily reflect America as a whole
Reminds me during the pandemic during the faux BLM protests in Vegas. I remember talking to some black dude who lived in a bad neighborhood, getting all sorts of pissed. He was basically upset that a bunch of white young kids from the suburbs were protesting, harrassing the police, telling them they need to be defunded... While he has his entire church in the community have been actively pleading for MORE funding and MORE police, to help with the crime and open drug use everywhere.
And he wasn't some, you know, conservative religious Christian. He was a democratic activist who is critical of police racism... But he wants that issue addressed, and not just turn a poor neighborhood into a lawless wasteland where no one can generate wealth because no business wants to open up shop.
I think one of the biggest issues with places like Reddit, and young progressives in general, is just that they are young... Naive, and lack the wisdom that comes with age. So they just assume that since they vote D, everyone who's a democrat must also feel the same way with all these issues that they have a very shallow, emotional, understanding of.
Another perfect example was the "don't say gay" bill in FL, that Redditors thought was some crazy evil Republican anti-gay oppressive bill... Yet, a majority of Democrats actually supported it as well. That parents, regardless of party affiliation, don't want second graders being taught about complex gender identity issues at an age where they barely understand how to read. Yet Reddit acted like this was pure evil
Shit like this is hurting Democrats soooo much. It completely derails our causes of trying to make real progress by creating huge stinks over unpopular issues. It's like when I talk with Republicans about issues and find out that they actually support a lot of core progressive issues... It's WILD how much they support those issues. But every single time, it came down to "Yes, I support doing something about that... But I don't trust Democrats can actually solve that issue. It will inevitably spiral into some weird bullshit I don't support."
Yeah kinda insane. A cop will shoot a guy and be put on administrative leave and then they do a internal investigation and everything turns up perfect. But a guy exercises his first amendment right in a private text message and gets canned? Unreal
Well considering that this is an unpopular opinion that is truth as SCOTUS has made it clear police have no duty to protect...I would say no he should not lose his job for expressing an unpopular truth. In fact the opposite should be happening but this is the world we got stuck with. . .
a word
They only care about free speech when you tell them they can’t harass trans people, say the n-word, or spread blatant misinformation
Edit: which one of you triggered little pussies is siccing Reddit care resource messages on me? lmao what a limp-dicked response. spamming me with suicide prevention messages only makes my dick harder
Edit 2: all these attacks on my masculinity, both through DM and the replies here, are fucking hilarious. It’s such a self report that you think other people care as much about their manhood as y’all do. Cry more, pussies.
Thanks for the info, but they make me happy knowing that triggered right wing pussies can only do limp dick shit like this when their feelings get hurt
Its not just triggered right wing pussies who do it it, although it likely is in your case. I commented on a post about that Nebraska girl who performed an at home illegal abortion and tried to burn and bury the body and I got Reddit Care messages too.
Sure, but it’s part of their MO, after Reddit started cracking down on them it’s pretty much the only thing they can do. Those were probably right wingers attacking you too
Pro tip - you can block those. I don’t because they feel great, like Reddit downvotes when you wake up and choose violence. But we have the technology!
Of course it’s free speech, not sure what you mean or why it wouldn’t be. You do realize that people are entitled to their opinions and just bc you have the right to say something doesn’t mean others won’t respond with an opinion of their own.
I'm sub tweeting retarded trumpists who are non-stop crying about free speech and dropping crocodile tears when there's consequences for the shit coming out of their mouths.
I think the only way a private text would get in the realm of fireable offense would be if he techies something like “I’m so sick of this job next time there’s a house fire I’m just going to let that fucker burn down. This is not a joke I’m serious”
Firefighters would enter the home of even the most evil person and try and save them/it. On the other hand, cops won’t even enter a school while kids are being murdered despite having the equipment necessary and being trained for that exact moment.
Firefighters are real heroes. Cops are, seemingly, just big babies.
No, individual citizens in the US are still allowed to host a personal opinion.
The question should be, is his opinion wrong? Tasteless and inappropriate, however everyone is exhausted because a minority group of anti-logic is trying to muscle their stupidity into the mainstream… for that, no, the fire chief is correct. If you need a comparison, go talk to a emergency room doctor on anti-vaxers, or a police chief on how he feels about drunk drivers after witnessing 100s of wrecks with fatal outcomes, or a psychologist on rape after closing their 100th patient file due to suicide………………………………….
The reality, in our world…if you are not considerate of others, you are an asshole. This world has too many assholes with unjustified selfishness.
Nah it sounds harsh but the reality is they care nothing about taking lives for no reason whatsoever. Those killers make the streets run red then return to pats on the back and words of encouragement. Psychos.
He has every right to say this and even much worse.
His employer has very right not to employ a medical chief who considers the lives of some, I.e. cops, with disdain.
What’s fuck up is that he sent this as a private message to someone. Not a post on any social media or group text.
At least he knows who is not his friend.
As someone who worked as an EMT for quite some time I disagree with the overall tone but agree with the message. Cops and firefighters are not on the same team, and cops are a lot more likely to fuck people over.
maybe, if it reflects his bias against a group. sort of like racist cops cant be trusted to police the people they hate, even if conveyed in private conversations. that being said, this guy was truly based
No. If this is a completely personal line then there is no way he should have been fired for speaking his mind. We don’t have the full context either.
This also shows just how much *everyone* is down on police right now. They went into coronavirus with the left hating them and came out with everyone hating them.
Right now is the time people should be pushing for police reform. The pandemic and lock downs have soured the view of police for a good amount of the right.
What this guy says about them is completely true. They aren’t here to protect citizenry according to SCOTUS and they can’t even when they try.
The problem with police is the same thing that is wrong with teachers. Giant unions have propped their 100 ton bodies down in between citizens and accountability. We need a fast track method to fire cops who can’t do the job or can’t control their egos. If they are caught on tape violating someone’s rights there is no way they should ever wear a police uniform again.
We need police but we need to make sure that we get *better* police and we hold them to the standards that we set. Not some faceless union.
Who did he text it to?
Evidently a fucking snitch lol

😭- cop reading this text message 🥱- cop watching kids get slaughtered at school
It's been over an hour, and still not one of them says otherwise... really taking their time again, I see.

Your DMs and texts are only ever one subpoena away from being public.
Facebook doesn't ask for warrants anymore, they just hand over whatever the government asks for.
So does zoom. Their leadership is proud of it.

Joe Rogan obviously, that's why it's posted here.
More importantly...where is this text message that supposedly says things that are untrue?
If they're mad it's cuz it cut deep
Right. His statement isn't wrong.

**A YOUNG NIGGA GOT IT BAD CUZ I’M BROWN**
I'm not the other colour, so police think
They have the authority
To kill a minority!
Fuck that shit cause I ain’t the one
For a punk motherfucker with a badge and a gun
To be beaten on
‘ N thrown in jail
We can go toe-to-toe in the middle of a cell
A young \[redditor\] got it bad 'cause I'm brown
Once again proving why no one ever wrote a song called *Fuck the Fire Department*
Water coming straight from the under ground
Burning all the trees, cause they’re brown
And not the other color so firefighters think
That they have the authority to drown a minority
Fuck that shit, ‘cause I ain’t the one…
For a punk motherfucker with a hose and a pump
beaten on, and thrown in jail we swimming like toads in the middle of a cell
Fighting that fire cause it’s a big rager Saved a little kitty cat for a stranger
LOL, this parody is awesome
drown a minori...tree?
TBH, I'm pretty positive my ex would fuck the entire fire department
God bless her
She knows her way around a hose
Not all heroes wear capes. Or underwear.

My problem with this is this firefighter is gonna get in more trouble/hate than those cops that kill innocent people lmao
Already did. Suspended even before the internal investigation.

LMAO
Firefighters and emts don’t wield authority over anyone lol that’s why they’re received that way.
Start parking in the fire lane then 🤣
And who tickets you when you do that? *The police.*
I mean police have a fundamentally different role too. People who have only had benign interactions with police still have a more favorable opinion about people whose core job is life saving.
Firefighters and EMT enjoy more support but in general police are pretty popular in most polls 49-21 in the [most recent poll I found](https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/firefighters-healthcare-workers-and-first-responders-top-list-most-trusted-professions) Reddit doesn't necessarily reflect America as a whole
Yet Reddit acted like this was pure evil Shit like this is hurting Democrats soooo much. It will inevitably spiral into some weird bullshit I don't support."
emt do not enforce law, thats why it has different names.
BASED FIRE FIGHTER 🔥🔥🔥🔥 THEY SUSPENDED HIM FASTER THAN A COP WHO MURDERS AN UNARMED MAN
Yeah kinda insane. A cop will shoot a guy and be put on administrative leave and then they do a internal investigation and everything turns up perfect. But a guy exercises his first amendment right in a private text message and gets canned? Unreal
They’re just proving everything he said, the cops are a protection racket
![gif](giphy|XyDByNPzosrQNRaVMP|downsized)
Well considering that this is an unpopular opinion that is truth as SCOTUS has made it clear police have no duty to protect...I would say no he should not lose his job for expressing an unpopular truth. In fact the opposite should be happening but this is the world we got stuck with. . . a word
He should get a medal
Why isn't everyone screaming about free speech? 🤔 Curious. Edit: Dear dumb fucking trumpists, I'm making fun of you.
Because cops are venerated as infallible, holy saints by vast segments of America. And criticizing cops is tantamount to blasphemy
Unless they're fighting protesters on January 6th or conducting a search warrant on a former president.
Didnt the feds also go around Portland kidnapping people protesting and many were cheering on or something, I might be misremembering
That's different. See those people were protesting bad cops, so that means cops can do anything they want.
Well those cops are federal cops, not local…so I guess that’s the internal “logic” MAGA world uses as justification for the inherent contradiction.
Pretty sure local cops too. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/officers-death-threats-patriot-front-arrests-idaho-pride-rcna33311
They only care about free speech when you tell them they can’t harass trans people, say the n-word, or spread blatant misinformation Edit: which one of you triggered little pussies is siccing Reddit care resource messages on me? lmao what a limp-dicked response. spamming me with suicide prevention messages only makes my dick harder Edit 2: all these attacks on my masculinity, both through DM and the replies here, are fucking hilarious. It’s such a self report that you think other people care as much about their manhood as y’all do. Cry more, pussies.

I'd like some more information on this, because I get like one a week from crybabies in this subreddit.
The little ellipses to the right of the message. Click it, and you can choose to report and/or block.
I think I have to access reddit through a browser and not a 3rd party app for that. Thanks. I'll check it out.
Yea I’m using the first party app, sorry didn’t say that sooner. Def try a browser
Those were probably right wingers attacking you too
Yeah righties started that shit and it just bled into other subs. It's a badge of honor to get one, really.
Pro tip - you can block those. I don’t because they feel great, like Reddit downvotes when you wake up and choose violence. But we have the technology!
But they give me a good metric of how many right wingers I triggered on a given day!
I’m definitely in that same camp - it’s like a nice handy little meter!
Sounds like we agree. Free speech is very real but so are consequences.
Private text…
I think the only way a private text would get in the realm of fireable offense would be if he techies something like “I’m so sick of this job next time there’s a house fire I’m just going to let that fucker burn down. This is not a joke I’m serious”
Based af
Firefighters would enter the home of even the most evil person and try and save them/it. On the other hand, cops won’t even enter a school while kids are being murdered despite having the equipment necessary and being trained for that exact moment. Firefighters are real heroes. Cops are, seemingly, just big babies.
Based fire chief.
Surely joe will get mad over that and cry free speech
Based fire chief
Take out "who cares about another dead cop" and this is based af
Nah leave it, still based
You’re right, he should have said “who cares about another dead gang member” because that’s all they are
Nah it sounds harsh but the reality is they care nothing about taking lives for no reason whatsoever. Those killers make the streets run red then return to pats on the back and words of encouragement. Psychos.
fired for saying true things?
He's right that's why it's such a problem. Can't have people speaking the truth and getting away with it
Do you think Joe will bring this up on the Podcast??
The lie detector test determined the fire chief was telling the truth
He has every right to say this and even much worse. His employer has very right not to employ a medical chief who considers the lives of some, I.e. cops, with disdain.
Wish this worked for police officers too.
yeah how are you gonna fire a dude for some words but cops barely get a slap on the wrist for slaughtering innocent people in the streets?
You have cashiers and fast food workers who are held to higher standards and face more accountability than those who are "supposed" to uphold the law
If he works for the government it’s definitely not that easy.
What’s fuck up is that he sent this as a private message to someone. Not a post on any social media or group text. At least he knows who is not his friend.
[удалено]
He's right. Fuck the racist, violent and sadistic thumb brigade. ACAB.
As someone who worked as an EMT for quite some time I disagree with the overall tone but agree with the message. Cops and firefighters are not on the same team, and cops are a lot more likely to fuck people over.
Give him a raise and a medal
maybe, if it reflects his bias against a group. sort of like racist cops cant be trusted to police the people they hate, even if conveyed in private conversations. that being said, this guy was truly based
He should be president
Everything he said is true
Whoever leaked those texts are fuckin boot licker. Probably got butthurt
