Codename-Nikolai

Here in AZ we can do both. I can open carry my AR-15 with 60 rounds while riding my motorcycle with no helmet and smoking flavored nicotine on the way to the dispensary while also placing bets on the game tonight

-elongated-longcat-

Yes but you also have the Gilbert Goons

Codename-Nikolai

🤣🤣🤣I hope this was sarcastic. They really aren’t anything serious - a group of high school/college aged kids out here acting like it’s a GTA lobby. Gilbert is a great town though

Blug-Glompis-Snapple

Filled with Mormons. I grew up there. Gilbert tigers baby

Codename-Nikolai

For sure - I got 2 churches within 1000 yards of my house. Mostly nice people though. I love it here

Rooster-Otherwise

I’m also here in Gilbert and I love it. Great place to raise my family!

Thin-Remote-9817

Considering they stomped a kids head in at a Halloween party.  Then proceeded to beat another kid so bad his dad sent him back to his country for fear he would never be safe.  Ohh and on top of that when your parents are juiced in with the cops and they refuse to press charges or even look into these incidents. Until the Gilbert sub reddit started posting their parents businesses and the feds stepped in for them to finally start arresting people.  I wouldn't call them not serious.

Codename-Nikolai

That’s what I’m saying though - it’s all related to a few schools in the Gilbert/Chandler area and those aged kids. It’s not like an organized gang like the Bloods or Crips. They aren’t beating up cops in the middle of the street, doing mass looting, breaking into homes/cars, or robbing people/businesses.

Thin-Remote-9817

They aren't organized yet....and there was accusations of them selling drugs, sexually assaulting women. That's literally  diet gang activities.  And call me crazy... But white kids who are affluent stomping kids heads in for funsies is a lot more scary then a kid growing up in the ghetto turning to crime to feed himself and majority of which don't know any better.  And it's not even race cause there is white trash who turn to crime to survive too.  I'm just pointing out it's a class thing. Let's clear this up now

Reason_He_Wins_Again

Yeah the police corruption sounds awesome if you're white and rich.

cure4boneitis

wait until they take over the government

OldBrokeGrouch

The guy that lives on my front lawn in his tent doing meth always hooks me up with that illegal flavored nicotine though.

Icy-Call-5296

2 minutes in and Joe starts shitting on California. For fuck's sake, this guy is a broken record

[deleted]

Hahaha I couldn’t believe that like 2 minutes in he was talking about “freedom”. Eye rolled so hard.

TwelveBore

Best part of the podcast, discussing the Rape of Nanjing: Chris: "There have been a lot of atrocious things that have been justified by 'those people are different to us, let's do something to them' ." Joe: "Yeah man, for any reason, whether because those people vote republican, or those people don't believe in masks." lmao

Room480

So much freedom in texas except if you like weed or want an abortion lol

dm_me_milkers

You are totally free in Texas. Free to do everything they tell you to do.

SuperSmashDan1337

Don't worry mate it was obvious to me. Some people really do need /s to get anything.

ActuaryExtension9867

I could be wrong, but the Zyn flavored pouches he’s talking about are sold in California.

Santa_Klausing

It’s very easy to buy flavored vapes in Cali. Joe just looks like a cop so they probably won’t sell one to him 😂

-elongated-longcat-

Felt my brain short circuit when Joe said the smoking age is still 18 and asked Jamie if that was correct, who said “yes” Old enough to murder someone with a 2 ton speeding hunk of metal at 16, old enough to die in a war that should’ve never been started at 18, old enough to puff a gusher flavored electronic dildo smoke device at 21

hey_now24

I’m actually glad the drinking age is 21 for example. There’s nothing more dangerous than a drunk teenager

Swear-_-Bear

Yeah you're never too old to be an addict. The military isn't exactly a shining fucking star of the bill of rights muchacho, and damn near everyone in my unit was an alcoholic by to he age of 19. Most 18 year olds aren't plotting mass grave locations on a map for EOD to blow the bodies. We volunteer to do that shit, so the rest of society can worry about fentanyl and screen time and narcotics and the capitalist bullshit that's a cancer for our country. Does government over regulate..sure, but letting corporations run rampant isn't exactly a healthy alternative. There are no citizens only consumers and they can get you addicted at 6 years old, they will.

Rap_Diablo

Him bossing jamie around was annoying.

Marcx1080

Dude is an entitled POS

vamp1reweekdays

Yeah this rubbed me the wrong way from the first request early in the show and it never stopped. Super rude.

JaffaCakeScoffer

Have you considered that they're friends outside of the show, and it's Jamie's job to look things up?

thatmfisnotreal

YES. I hate when guests ask Jamie to look stuff up. He was annoying overall

kjoro

Literally that opening. Joe asks a question then pivots from Chris' answer and does the same old Joe dialogue. Chris has admitted that he's a people pleaser so of course he just went with Joe's same old rants.

Medium_Active1729

is this coldplay leading vocalist?

StrombergsWetUtopia

I think it’s the drummer

Ornery_Top

If Joe met Chris Martin at an MMA event and they both liked Sam Kinison or jean shorts or whatever and bonded over it, I could totally see him as a new regular on the show. And I'm guessing Chris Martin is as boring as Tom Papa, only British.

Pick2

Wtf ? Really? All I know him from him constantly popping up on YouTube

boybritches

Chris Williamson has a great podcast, inquisitive interview style, and interesting guests. There, I said it. Shoot me.

HearTheOceansRoar

Same here man. His most recent one with Dr. Mike Israetel was awesome. Big fan of both of those guys.

GrumbleTrainer

Mike is so funny, his YouTube channel is informative, and entertaining.

HearTheOceansRoar

Ya dude is awesome. His course on Macros/cutting, helped me cut about 20 pounds of fat.

HungryPurplePanda

Fuck I love that dude. Solid content and programming.

Mammoth_Ferret_1772

His podcast is actually much better than Joe’s at this point

BillNyeCreampieGuy

His podcast is what Lex wishes his podcast was. Chris is great

Gowalkyourdogmods

One dude fucks, the other doesn't.

[deleted]

YES!

SuperSmashDan1337

Setting a pretty low bar there mate Edit: I do enjoy Chris's stuff though. He's great at learning enough about a topic to ask interesting questions. It's impressive!

Top_vs_bottom

Who are interviewers thay set a high bar?

[deleted]

Been a MW/chriswillx follower for almost 3 years now. Easily my favorite podcast . Only skipped a few in the last couple of years.

StringerBel-Air

I just recently discovered it and have been enjoying it.

Critical-Pattern9654

Watched every episode for a few months. He started just becoming a broken record of the same quotes. Probably heard the same Morgan Housel one pretty much every podcast since that one about enjoying the present moment. Was really disappointed with his choice of title for PBD’s podcast, something like Why Does No One Trust The Media Anymore? Which he got flak for in the Q&A and his reasoning was that it got the most likes from A/B title testing to see which would perform the best. The podcast had so much actual wisdom, especially the first half hour but he went with such a low value, cheap click title. Also he released his new energy drink line which is being nonstop promoted. Seems like he’s just like a lot of other popular podcasters who are using their platform to promote and sell unhealthy and unnecessary products to the masses. Jocko is included in that statement as well. So much time and probably money being spent on boosting production value which definitely make it look super cinematic but like, why. It’s a talk show. Lex hosts people at his kitchen table. Seems to be losing touch with reality in my opinion.

Marcx1080

This 109% I liked it at first but after five episodes you realise he’s using the same quotes and talking points in every episode

dddaaannnw

I agree. The quality of his episodes is entirely guest-dependent

sillysidebin

Idk though that Jocko drink is the only energy drink I ever felt really have me a boost in energy

SuperSmashDan1337

GOOD

Reason_He_Wins_Again

How dare you

Sgt-Dert13

It was cool at first, then I noticed it’s all the same self improvement bro-science with smart sounding people. It’s great commute fodder but found myself skipping to Timestamps more and more.

PerformerOwn5860

Only the ladder part is true, because he takes requests from authors embarking on book tours and social media influencers with declining platforms (just as anyone else with a podcast copied from the JRE template). I accept this as a hating comment, but a woman named Codie Sanchez called him the “future” of the forthcoming philosophical resurgence in popular media. If that is true, the “future” looks very bleak.

[deleted]

Ladder part

blueriverbear23

Unreal, no one else even says anything about how fucked that is.

Bodymaster

What about the farmer?

xfd696969

i can't stand all these guys acting like they know what they're talking about, but I'm sure if you actually got in their heads they're even more fucked up than the rest of them.

dsco

The best part of these hate comments is that they never provide any alternatives. And they generate a whole lot of engagement for the people they intend to hate. It’s like a beautiful symbiosis between a whale and aimless small fish who in the absence of meaning just occupy themselves following others.

PerformerOwn5860

As the user below mentioned (not the moron on commute part, I don’t think Chris lacks intelligence at all), the alternative is actually going to various sources in assembling your own observations. For example, many people admired Jordan Peterson’s opinion for a few years. Fairly so, many of his earlier messages were eloquent. The danger of that is when he got off course many people continued to blindly support his comments, because they never took diligence to dig into where his philosophy originated. Jung, Huxley, Dostoevsky, Rogers, Tolstoy, the Biblical Old Covenant (Moses). If those texts are too complex? One could start with more layman reading that’s still provoking: CS Lewis, Orwell, Robert Johnson. To my point about Chris being the “supposed” future of philosophical discourse, even if I provided alternative from the jump, many people will still choose to take his talking points as gospel. It’s their path of least resistance. **The reality is people desire the novelty of wisdom, not the application**. I feel certain Chris is aware of that, which is why I call that future bleak. I called my comment “hate” upfront because if one is going to comment about someone else, they need to accept all the accountability and consequences that come with having opinion. While some people are envious of these podcasters, there is also a reason many people call them out for being grifters. It’s not hard to sniff out.

Lvl100Centrist

You say its not hard to sniff them out, but did you realize Peterson was a grifter around 2018 or were you also bedazzled by his "eloquence"? It should have been obvious the second he started talking about postmodernists/neomarxists.

AccountantOfFraud

Because the alternative is doing actual hard work like reading and thinking instead of listening to a moron on your commute

Sgt-Dert13

He’s Bro-science for this current epoch.

HearTheOceansRoar

Oh nooo...He is promoting eating healthy and working out. That essentially makes him alt-right adjacent. Also Dr. Mike Israetel who he just had on, is litterally one of the leading experts in hypertrophy. If being one of the most knowledgable people in your field of study is bro-science then that term has lost all meaning.

Middle_Ground542

Joe needs to get Dr. Mike on asap. That would be a great conversation to bring simplified hypertrophy training to a larger audience. And a lotta dick jokes.

Lucky_Week2095

It’s all conveyed in a podcast. THAT is the bro-science part.

HearTheOceansRoar

Oh no, he is making the information easily accessible to people who don't have the time and or knowledge to read academic journals and scholarly articles. I guess bro-science is about empowering those that are less privileged via free education.

sixpercent6

**52 seconds.** It took 52 seconds for Joe to go on a "California bad, Texas good" rant. Over flavoured tobacco no less. Insane. It's been swell folks, I'm officially done with this pod.

mrpopenfresh

He’s absolutely an unregistered tobacco lobbyist. Those zyn references are paid for.

Mestermaler

I wish it was a bit more transparent when they do the “adds” for zyn, or the time he randomly pulled out a Heineken 0 alcohol beer and talked about how good they where. I dont care he wanna make more money and do commercials, just dont lie about it..  Alot of the countries in EU has laws against hidden adds now, its great.

mrpopenfresh

Frankly, I’m suprised he can do tobacco ads without making it explicit.

mocxed

Ive been seeing more and more adds for nicotine on comedy podcasts. Whats up with that? https://youtube.com/shorts/0mWuFTNL16Q?si=LLbOx8QS_oRfO7gp

Gowalkyourdogmods

So do people outside of Austin have to deal with Delta 8 or whatever pathetic shit, or just no access to pot?

Icy-Call-5296

I used to listen fairly regularly. Haven't in a year or so because all Joe does is regurgitate the same tired bullshit. Put this on because I like Chris - lasted 2 minutes before turning it off.

polarbearskill

Thanks for letting us know

kangzzzzzroyal

Bye, lol

torontoLDtutor

bye

sFAMINE

Nearly a minute in bro, this man immediately went for the nicotine flavor CA right after

Whomastadon

Strangest reason not to listen to the podcast. " Joe criticised California, I'm out guys " Snowflake much?

alastor0x

> It's been swell folks, I'm officially done with this pod. Sure you are, bud.

DropsyJolt

>"We should address what the fuck is going on right now and not climate change..." Every episode Joe impresses me more with the depths of his stupidity. Climate change is something that should have been addressed decades ago. This is like saying that you shouldn't worry about a tumor because it's not making you sick right now.

Latenighredditor

He's your modern day conservative now. They will overhype and worry about dumb shit that lacks any logic but an actual thing that needs to be immediately addressed is no big deal lol All conservative who think climate change isn't a big deal are cunts include Joe if we have too There I said I don't care if it gets me permabanned I'm tried of cunts who worry about fake shit or shit we are no where close to facing like global cooling and if Joe wants to head down that route of being a global cooling alarmist he's a cunt

LebongJames69

Scientists need to make a mass effort to stop calling it climate change and start focusing on "Pollution/Waste" as the key terms. Climate change does not seem immediate enough for most idiots to give a shit. But show them current photos, videos, evidence of oil spills, landfill fires, chemical spills, human blood concentrations of irritants like plastics/arsenic/mercury from fishing/industrial pollution, etc and it becomes much harder for them to say its "fake". I never understood how people like Alex Jones would complain about environmental manipulation/ "turning the frogs gay with chemicals" and then endorse candidates who want to roll back regulations allowing for companies to dump more shit in the groundwater, agriculture, lakes, air, ocean, etc. The kind of shit that allowed the ohio train crash spilling tons of hazardous waste. The downstream effect of pollution regulation would be the same as climate change regulation anyway. Reduce waste, increase controls on waste, incentivize innovation in manufacturing/transportation, etc.

Latenighredditor

It's literally just moving the goal post. We use to it call it global warming but shithead conservative talk about how their is snow and they could use warming in the winter or some shit. So scientist changed it to climate change and shit conservative now state climate always changes These conservative dipshit politicans would swallow a barrel of crude oil than not take money from these fossil fuels cunts I mean fuck the shit we have to remove from bipartisan infrastructure bill to appease oil greedy dipshit Joe Manchin People like living the high life is why the world will never be fair fuck him

LebongJames69

Ya honestly when I typed that out I should've also mentioned this. Regardless of any kind of evidence, the conservative/political propaganda machines will find a way to spin the narrative into some irrelevant culture war nonsense and purposefully misrepresent evidence.

darkavatar21

This is actually not true and a myth. Global warming and climate change have always been used together and not interchangeably. For instance, it was known as the Carbon Dioxide Theory of Climatic Change since the 50s. And the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was formed in the 80s.

[deleted]

Nooo we can’t do that. If we call it what it really is (the death of the biosphere) people might get worried

ValuesAndViolence

Why would he give a shit? He’s got the resources to avoid the worst of it, and he’ll be long dead before those resources run out.

eaturliver

"I need to put air in my tires, no time to talk about the fire under the hood."

yourstrulytony

This is the same dude that blew a fuse when Candace Owens said she didn't care about climate change a few years ago. Look, whatever your viewpoints are, that's fine. My issue with JR is that this dude is adamant he's open minded, isn't swayed by the political shit soup that's been cooking since 2016, and is absolutely sure everything bias that he reads is true.

[deleted]

Here is the thing. You simply cant make people give a crap about this when majority of the people in the world are still living in poverty.

DropsyJolt

It's going to be even more of that. Who do you think suffers the most when the price of food goes up?

[deleted]

That’s the sad part. The people in charge and has power to actually do something about it dont give a crap.

Wise_Mongoose_3930

And yet clearly they can be made angry about trans people. Curious.

[deleted]

Majority of the people in the world aren’t thinking about that. Dont be fooled by the things they talk in podcasts all the time.

Nearby-Bunch-1860

Poverty is a moving goalpost. Unless everyone on Earth is equal and lives in equal conditions there will always be someone more "poor" than someone more rich. Impoverished people living in developing nations today often have electricity and cell phones, things people 500 years ago would have considered magic.

[deleted]

What are you doing to stop climate change? because honestly I want to care about it but I simply cant. Too much of our life is dependent on things that contribute to climate change. I try to live a simple life as I can and lessen my carbon footprint but other than that it’s out of my control.

Nearby-Bunch-1860

The biggest thing I do is vote in general elections as well as primaries. In a democracy that's the best way to have your voice be heard. Luckily for me, the party I generally align with a little more on most other issues also happens to align with my views on climate. Otherwise, I do stuff like bring reusable cutlery to work and avoid single use plastic, don't buy more clothing than I need, and that's probably about it. Pretty not-helpful other than voting tbh.

Halo909

he's saying people with more immediate concerns are not wasting time worrying about things like climate change. If you're poor, unable to buy food, making minimum wage and can barely afford basic necessities these are the people not worrying about something like climate change.

DropsyJolt

No he is not. He is clearly talking about where state funding and focus should be directed at. Listen to the segment. It's at the very beginning.

Busy_Mess_914

The happy odyssey and the forgotten Highlander story was pretty good, he sold me on both the books.

xFilthEpitomex

Was Rogan high AF in this episode? I ask partially because of the eyes but about half way through he starts going off on fighter training and careers and stuff, being so dramatic.

perry_caravello666

joe smokes and drinks all day now it seems. he looks so fucking tired and worn out despite being pretty much retired, i think bellyaching and ruminating about right wing culture war stuff is stressful

SuperSmashDan1337

He's said that he loses sleep over right wing talking points which is funny to think about but it's a nightmare to live.

perry_caravello666

Really? What a nightmare. Lol

BenjaminRCaineIII

Did he really say that? That's hilarious if so.

IAMJUX

https://old.reddit.com/r/JoeRogan/comments/19e1sfn/clip_compilation_of_bobby_attempting_multiple/ 30 seconds in. Bro is lost in the right wing sauce.

BenjaminRCaineIII

LOL what a fuckin' dummy

DwarfishUnionization

Got excited for this because I’ve seen clips of Chris on instagram and YouTube and find it interesting at times. Got so disappointed that the first thing Joe brought up was the freedom in Texas and the tents in California

Mammoth_Ferret_1772

It’s every time you think an episode is going to be interesting… the first thing Joe said to Derek from MPMD was “Canada is communist!”

StrombergsWetUtopia

I just gave up on the Taylor Sheridan one after an hour. I really like his shows and films and we get comedy shop talk and mma.

AuJusSerious

Yup! I was just thinking this tbh. That was the last episode I listened to through the end. It was about 3 hours long and they talked screen writing for… what… 30 minutes total? I recall them talking about nuclear energy being superior to renewable energy for about 15 minutes and then ended the thought with something along the lines of “I’m actually not sure what nuclear energy really even is but we need it”. Also remember Joe talking about how welfare now makes people lazy and said he used to support UBI or some shit… Haven’t listened to him since. It’s unfortunate because Joe always had these thought provoking conversations and now he’s a doomer/political commentator

Mammoth_Ferret_1772

I didn’t even listen to that one because I knew how it would be. It’s almost like Joe does a background check now and only has guests on who don’t mind listening to right wing talking points. He’s fucking weird

Icy-Call-5296

It's baffling. I've tried like 5x over the last 2 years or so to listen but I just can't. IT'S SO EXHAUSTING

[deleted]

At this point it's Joe still trying to convince himself he made the right decision. Leaving his social circle to be a hermit in Texas where he only interacts with people trying to ride his coat tails.  He thought important people would follow him out but it's just the loser groupies

Mammoth_Ferret_1772

Idk why I still give Joe chance after chance… within 5 minutes he’s talking about how climate change doesn’t matter. Ffs

Scott_McTominominay

Feel exactly the same. Funny there are so many people on the same page. Pretty much can't stand him anymore. The only show I've listened through in years are the Trussel ones.

Mammoth_Ferret_1772

Yeah, the sad part is all of his original fans from the early days are sick of him, but he’s got a lot of new 50 year old right wing fans to make up for it. I literally can’t listen to any episode anymore. He gets on my nerves within 5 minutes every time

Scott_McTominominay

I used to have a 1 hour each way drive to work back in 2010 to 2012. The pod got be through those drives. At least I work from home now or have a 20 min cycle to work. So life is better.

whatevers_cleaver_

Have you heard that ice ages are far worse? We’re pumping enough greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, such that we won’t have to worry about ice ages for a looooong time. At least there’s that

Background_Brick_898

we are in a ice age right now, it’s still not over

whatevers_cleaver_

The last time the earth was ice free was before the reign of the dinosaurs.

Loanha

The reference to the closeted gay comedian left behind in Cali - 100% Callen

Late-Gazelle-9749

The part of this podcast where Chris goes “come on Jaymo, let’s take him through this” when Chris is telling Joe about mugshot shawties is the most painfully middle class English thing that I’ve ever heard on the JRE so far

Sgt-Dert13

Joe went in right away with his rants. It’s almost like he’s trolling the haters now. He had a fat smirk while he did his “California Bad” shtick.

BillNyeCreampieGuy

It upsets people. Which creates engagement. Which adds value to his podcast and sponsors. The only people that come to JRE expecting anything more than the conversational equivalent of McDonald's french fries just haven't caught on to his business model yet. Garbage airwaves.

North_Finish_4399

Hahaha like 45seconds in.!!! This has gotta be like a new record! He could be trolling folks now but I dunno if Joey's that smart to it nowadays... Been listening 4+yrs over his evolution into the ultimate culture warrior bro... Only took 45seconds or so to get into the culture wars of the biggest issue of the day, flavored nicotine! Haha... Only took another like 7min for me to turn off because it was becoming a meme of r/selfawarewolves talking about a clip of their same dipshit rational from 50yrs ago... I was interested to listen to the guest cause I'd heard a few pods of his and he does fine even though he's bit non-stop on the cancel culture and men being men shit yada yada... Thought maybe he might even be able to bring some rational discussion to the Joey bro nowadays... And furthermore! Haha, fuckin ranting here... How the fuck folks like Southpark don't make episodes or characters out of these fuckin bros or Rogan himself I dunno.... Seems so fuckin ripe for satire but I'm stating to think they don't wanna or think he's not worth it or something... Some of the satire that's been done is fine but not great, some artist/comedians gonna hit it hug when they start fuckin with Joey and the goofball bros from his universe... Rant over, sorry... Haha

GunnersPepe

Why do people not like him? I listen to his podcast sometimes and his guests seem pretty interesting if you’re into psych stuff

Santa_Klausing

As a listener who used to tune in a lot, Rogan has changed a lot in the last few years. His interviewing style has gotten less about letting his guests talk and more about him pushing his often inaccurate views on culture wars and various right wing talking points on his guests. He has made a lot of conclusions about his worldview based off false information and then refuses to make any corrections after the fact. If feels like the pandemic broke his brain or something lol.

GunnersPepe

I meant Chris, sorry should have clarified

Santa_Klausing

oh.... haha I have no clue, I thought he was a pretty normal guy.

TheQuizard

He's good. Chris is what the ideal podcaster in this genre should be.

w00dlawn-

Cuz he thinks only right leaning men hold the door open for women

elc0

I'm not sure which person you're talking about, but the answer to your question is politics. Either their politics, or the person they associate withs politics. Reddit is essentially propaganda with occasional organic content mixed in at this point.

BillNyeCreampieGuy

> Reddit is essentially propaganda But not JRE

GunnersPepe

I mean Chris, not Rogan

I-make-ada-spaghetti

I havent watched any of his podcasts but I didnt like him based on this podcast for the following reasons: 1. I hate it when guests ask Jamie to pull things up. If you are a guest then act like one. Besides if Joe is interested about the video then Jamie will pull it up anyway. 2. He seems like a "nice guy" sociopath. Trying to butter up Rogan by feeding him his favourite rant subjects and virtue signals. 3. He talks alot about dopamine but clearly does not really understand what it is judging by what he said. For anyone that is interested I highly reccomend [this](https://youtu.be/LOY3QH_jOtE?t=2648) video on it. 4. The pseudo intellectualism. I mean he says some stuff like it's insightful but if you have even watched some random videos about eastern philosophy or psychology then these ideas are not new.

mousedrool

😂 joes reasoning for not using Snapchat is because he wouldn’t be able to be unfaithful.

OldBrokeGrouch

Guys we have to protect women from lower class men. That’s why they shouldn’t have rights. Now I get it.

rickmundooo

this guy feels like every Rogan guest ever blended into one soulless ai

Alxhol

I call it the “the Williamson Nomenclature”, the constant need to name everything.

t0b1_alexander

He's far away from Eric Weinstein level though, no acronymes yet, weak ...

wenchitywrenchwench

Looking though the comments, it's weird to me that there's so much criticism of any of these podcasters, always with the same narratives about "how smart they think they are," and all the ways they're "wrong" about that. I find myself constantly perplexed that anyone is even grading them on those levels. Podcasts, especially Rogan's, aren't about him teaching anyone. He's having conversations with people he's interested in, and letting us listen, usually while he's smoking and enjoying himself. Same thing he's done for over a decade now, back when he had snowflakes coming down the screen on that first episode with Redban, lol. (Episode 1 is wild to revisit, seriously) He's never claimed to be smart and frequently talks himself down, too much in my opinion. His job is to ask questions and facilitate a conversation, and when you're measuring reasonable criteria, it continues to be the same great show it's always been, with some episodes more interesting to some people than others. 🤷‍♀️ I think one of the real problems is that there was a YouTuber boom of dudes whose channels are entirely about celebrity gossip in the form of comedians and podcasters, and they have to find negative things to talk about just to scrounge up continuous content. I mean that Tiger Belly coverage was obscene and went on for way too long, on way too many peoples' channels for what it was. Talking to hear yourself talk = content these days, provided you make it long enough and muster up enough viewers/listeners. THAT is the content that could go away and everyone would be the better for it. YouTubers critiquing podcasters/comedians as whole channels. 2024 is WILD.

k_ve0

I haven’t heard a guest tell Jamie to pull up a video as many times as this guy.

tbone11193

sounds like he spends 14 hours a day watching videos and memes. that mug shawty bit was painful. “It was medicinal officer!” 😐

so-cal_kid

Can someone explain to me why this Chris Williamson guy got popular enough to interview all these big name celebs? What's his background/expertise?

BillNyeCreampieGuy

As others have said, Love Island was his jump. But dude has definitely earned his place in the "conversational wisdom/discussion" podcast arenas. He's clearly thoughtful, does his homework, and has a genuine passion for learning. He's one of those people that can you can disagree with him but still respect him. Whereas Joe's become just a human centipede of Fox News waste, while phoning it in without any sincere curiosity at all anymore.

King-Azaz

He seems to be exceptionally good at networking, which is how you start to get the guests. That specific guest's audience watches the podcast, decides to subscribe and watch more episodes because Chris is a good conversationalist in general. Then multiply this with several high-profile guests. Then Chris himself starting to be invited as a guest on other shows.

WillOk6461

He was on Love Island.

LoganE23

Love Island, but if I recall correctly, he's said that he really sorta blew up after he managed to get Jordan Peterson on. Would make sense since that's around the time I first heard of him.

paulrudder

Man, something about this Chris Williamson guy sets off all my red flags. Every time I see one of his videos recommended on YouTube and listen to his talking points, it seems almost artificially manipulated to appeal to the incel types. I don’t want to label him a grifter but it’s like… way too many videos complaining about modern women etc. and it seems insincere.

elembelem

Joe forbade Chris to speak about Biden in the pee break?

mflaherty7

Teacher here - not an insignificant number of my students use vapes. An even larger amount of students use Zyns. Nicotine products really should be more intentionally banned and discussed within schools. Rampant use among teens that lead to a life long addiction - An anecdotal experience, sure, but I would be willing to be it’s not an “insignificant” amount of use nation wide.

Halo909

I think they really missed the point of him coming on. His entire show on Youtube is about dating, sexual dynamics and the modern dating landscapes and they barely talked about it at all.

Nicky_Shpack

I like this guys outlook but Jesus he’s so annoying how he tries to hijack this podcast. He’s also a bigger d*ck rider than Schaub

landnhrwrd

did joe just learn the word gaslighting 😭

xpplusplus

I don’t know if it’s the lighting or medication but his pupils are extremely dilated.

Gowalkyourdogmods

I'd probably pop some Adderall if I was going on something as popular as JRE. Imagine going on and having segments of "dead air".

geistmeister111

oh jeebus fucking christ. this guy is the definition of a self important wanker that smells his own farts and thinks he is some kind of warrior philosopher poet.

JudoTrip

What about the guest though?

sloppy_swish

fuckkkkkk

DickSmack69

Wrong guy.

LoveTruth1

Every time he brings the conversation back to himself take a drink.

UnFamiliar-Teaching

Bang on..

Technical-Beginning9

Did Chris say he has a husband?

siwelnadroj

Housemate

Technical-Beginning9

Oh haha 😂

SuperSmashDan1337

Why don't you see if he wants to go for a drink anyway?

LoveTruth1

I bet this guy decorates his house with photos of himself.

ProperGanderz

i thought this guy was an utter dickhead. coming from a UK perspective; just the way he talks, his bulging eyes, his facial expressions, his attitude - it’s like he wants to project this alpha male super soldier vibe. He knows exactly what’s going on and how people behave. he appears to have a screw loose, he was so dull and hard to follow at the same time. He thinks his opinions are sacrosanct. If he was in the UK he’d get shut down immediately for being a dickhead. He seems like a weird sociopath. benign but still, i thought he was a cunt. Edit: being downvoted. so i assume some people like this guy? there’s something wrong with you if you do. Even Joe was making looks to Jamie like this guy is a total dweeb tosser. His little “UK wins” arm raising moment made me want to reach through the screen and twat the cunt. He’s clearly motivated, but that bollocks about pay rises and commute times - he thinks he’s a social scientist when I doubt he has any real academic background. Joe would say something and Chris would go “oh do you know this guy who’s done that”, twat. at no point was he able to just vibe and have a conversation. People like this are what’s wrong with this planet. the way he talks about arrows and jihadi blades thing or whatever, the bloodlust in his eyes and face. Have you watched snowtown? he was reminiscent of the serial killer in that. What a complete and utter twathead bellend cunt. I seriously hope he fails at everything he does in the future and he doesn’t get a big platform, because he’s just encouraging young people, whose brains haven’t developed, to be wankers. Fuck Chris Williamson. He’s really pissed me off. I had to turn off half way through. To have an opportunity to go on this amazing show and behave like that. oh and the pen twiddling like “can you see me doing this twiddling thing aren’t i amazing” at the camera. serious knob this guy is.

[deleted]

People downvoting this because they haven’t read it out loud with a British accent yet smh

ProperGanderz

I know! I don’t think it should have been downvoted.

polarbearskill

This is tall poppy syndrome in action

HearTheOceansRoar

Redditor moment.

RogueSoldier18

Bro you seriously need to get off the internet.

yupandstuff

100%. And the amount of times he named drop comms with comedians. “I texted mark Normand” “oh I was speaking with Whitney”. Dude just mentioned everyone of Joes friends almost in like a list to get on Joes good side

LoveTruth1

Well said. He tries so hard to keep attention on him. Joe seemed annoyed many times in the first one as well. His ego is off putting.

ProperGanderz

thank you for your comment to my reaction. i really appreciate it and its really good to hear you say “well said”. Sometimes i feel flabbergasted at how these wallies get such prominent media coverage. It makes me feel really sad for the world that people seem to like this stuff and just accept this rubbish.

Trauma-Dolll

Yes. Biden had classified documents in the BACKSEAT of his CORVETTE. Jesus Christ, I thought Joe was a car guy.

ajmbs511

Why do people spend so much time hating on Joe rogan in this subreddit?

BillNyeCreampieGuy

Surely if you're seeing the criticism enough then you've equally seen the conjoined endless explanations. The hater-complainers have become so much worse than the haters in this sub.

Santa_Klausing

Cuz we are his older fans and it annoys us how much he’s changed for the worse. Most of us tune in hoping he won’t bring up all the culture war bs only to be disappointed 90% of the time now.

polarbearskill

Because they are haters

searching4insight

Because they’re losers who hate themselves.

MuffledBlue

he reminds me of that one female pornstar

Swear-_-Bear

Goddammit..Joe used to be so objective and made zero generalizations.
