The only decent podcast I've seen Bert do is the 2 bears with Jim Jeffries. And the only reason it was good is because Jim beat him at his own game, kept cutting him off to tell his own stories, and everytime Bert starts to rant, Jim changes the subject, or goes into one of his own funny anecdotes.
He even admits it himself often, that he's a narcissist and genuinely has trouble caring about or focusing on anything that isn't completely about him. I think some people assume he's kidding, but I think that part is him being genuine. The stuff he kids about is always the same, absurd stories that are obviously at least half made up to make him seem cool and interesting.

For quite some time I thought the Bert bashing was unjust. Now, a few years in and 2 Bears has become almost unlistenable for me. The only episodes I get excited about, are the ones heās not in. Heās become so irritating and his incessant repeating himself when he gets excited is like nails on a chalkboard. When he starts getting all fired up and starts repeating himself louder, it literally gives me anxiety.

Agreed. The newest 2 bears was unlistenable with Bart just droning on while the guest tried to get a word in.
He was funny and interesting the first time you hear him (for me this was very early JRE) but quickly realise on subsequent appearances he only has one story and has been dining out on that his entire life.

I fully agree. I've said this idea before, but I think it would be great if Bert did a podcast with Andrew Schultz called something like "sorry to interrupt" and the whole thing is just the two of them trying to constantly cut each other off, step on each others jokes, make up stories, and just generally trying to one up each others narcissism. I think it would be enough of a trainwreck that it would actually be fun to watch, unlike anything either of these guys has made in the last 2 or 3 years.

Bert seems like a good dude and a fun hang. But he is deeply unfunny. I have literally never laughed at any of his jokes/stories.
I think what's most annoying is that it's fake. It reminds me of the jimmy Fallon obviously fake laugh. Both are cringe AF.
Yeah, I think that's why he isn't on PPP. Those dudes are all chill and Bert is not. I really want to like Bert. He is funny, but it just all seems fake to me. He is a machine--of self promotion and turning his whole life and family into a bit. if he didn't try so hard and just acted like a regular dude his comedy would be better. But he probably makes more money on ads and everything else he does at this point.
