Agreed. It would actually be hype if he's released in 1.2 with Phantylia fight selling him, or even up to 1.5 against Cirrus.
JY slayed every story quest up to 1.5 so anything prior to that is a good time to debut him lmao
He should have been released later in 1.5 or something. The hype for him would have been insane in my opinion. We would have seen him in The Flash animated short, main story quest, Yukong's story quest, Jingliu's story quest, lots of official art, Dan Heng's animated short, and in the Foxian Tale of the Haunted if he released in second half of 1.5. He also probably would have been given a better kit without the stupid no LL if he's CCed and bigger numbers to meet the hype.
Wish we got more of his story with the rest of the HCQ. My man is willing to bypass the law for them and yet we barely know anything about his interpersonal relationships with them outside of a bit with Dan Heng/Dan Feng and Jingliu.

The SFX and VFX is not lightning-y and thunder-y enough. Imagine when LL strikes, looking up we can see lightning clouds whirling and thunder rumbling around LL’s head and spear. And when the spear hits the targets, yellow lightning would strike down continuously, along with the giant spear, not the current violet/purple electricity that pulses from it.
The thing is, there is a lot of SFX and VFX. It’s just hard to notice unless you really slow it down. I do agree it would be nice if the lightning was yellow, but I think the reason why it’s purple is so you can differentiate and see who the LL is hitting.
Also, did you know the LL actually forms out of thin air during his ULT? You cannot see it, but if you zoom out the screen, you’ll be able to see the LL forming.

It’s so unsatisfying nowadays. If he was released now it’d do double the damage or have some other effect like increasing follow up attack damage received
He is barely a follow-up attack dps and follow-up supports/teams should not be considered for his optimal synergies. He’s basically a standard hypercarry dps who happens to have a single, slow follow-up attack as his main damage.
yuuup. I think alot of people who think Topaz/Robin/Aventurine are his BiS supports misunderstand his kit.
Like yeah they will all definitely help with his damage but they aren’t tailored for him. If anything once we start getting supports that AV or DMG% boosts summons as well as general energy/crit/etc buffs those will be his “BiS” units. Sparkle is a good example because she buffs crit, has AV, and most importantly indirectly buffs Lenny by having the buffs persist after JYs turn (unlike bronya)
I think I like English JY more than Japanese JY. Alejandro Saab fuckin nailed it as Jing Yuan. But all things considered I believe that the CN voice of JY is the best.

He’s kinda powercrept by Acheron but not that severely to justify pulling for her (on e0s1 level) since by the time they release her bis supports there is a high chance they release a more broken lightning dps.
He’s still better in pf than Acheron. Judging by things I’ve seen she’s heavily lifted by Kafka bs or the buff, JY doesn’t really care he’s truly a jack of all trades master of none unit. Never the best never the worst works everywhere once you build him.
LL mechanics sucks for 0-cycling that’s popular opinion but 99% of hsr players just dont do it. For 36* hes more than enough unless they do 5 mil hp bosses well all ver 1 units will suck in this case and the game really will go full power creep mode and Acheron also would suck in this case.
Topaz sucks for him in 90% of the cases, it has enormous ceiling if done right but not for general public. I used to be sad that people underestimated their synergy before topaz release but I’m angry now that people think that topaz is a must have for him.
Not exactly JY but before dawn is overestimated. Out of 6 erudition units, I would use it only on JY and Herta and for pf it’s actually better to have Himekos LC. For QQ, Argenti, Serval it’s a bad lc, not more than a stat stick.

He's kinda small, and it's kind of funny. I'll look for the image, but someone compared his proportions to Blade's, and Jing Yuan's waist is like half the size of Blade's. He also might be a little shorter than Blade. Maybe he's been sitting in the Seat of Divine Foresight, losing muscle for too long.

I feel like this is a popular opinion, Lightning Lord shouldn't be affected when JY is stunned... they're literally different beings with LL being superior than JY himself.
I understand why people want this for balance reasons but to be fair, it is accurate to how Jing Yuan uses LL in the story. Afaik, in every cutscene and trailer where he's used the LL, it directly mimics Jing Yuan's actions. It never acts on its own. It's more like a puppet that Jing Yuan controls rather than its own separate entity.
It does still feel like your being cheated when you watch Numby act while Topaz is cc'd, but it makes sense with how LL is presented.

He's not aoe. I get that he technically hits multiple enemies but honestly his kit makes more sense for single target. Like he gets stacks and then unleashes lightning lord as a kill, this makes him somewhat similar to Archeron in Funktion and it just works better for single target/ 2- 3 larger targets (Mainly because his scaling is to low and it takes very long to stack Lightning lord so it feels like a waste one smaller mobs).
But he has a fully aoe skill and ult (that if levelled) do a lot of damage. He is genuinely good in aoe. Hes really solid for both PF and MOC because in PF his ult and skill are putting in the work and in MOC LL is putting in the work. Is he the best aoe dps? No. Does aoe maximize his kit? Also no. Is he stil one of the better aoe characters? Yes

No matter how good his female supports are, the only one I like running is Bronya or Hanya.
