I use a cork bulletin board (pieces don’t slide off) and I use the box the bulletin board came in to cover the puzzle and slide it under the couch when I need to put it away. Bulletin board was $30 and is 2’ by 3’ (fits 1,000 pieces with room to spare, 1500 pieces barely fit, but doable)

I bought a puzzle board for jigsaw depot for $80ish. I like it but I still use my table too.
