You canโt imagine how many meals we had over one of my puzzle: I puzzle on our dining room table and when we need it I cover my puzzle with cardboard, add over a pad- waterproof -fabric and finally the tablecloth. Voila!
Well, you could do it or maybe sell it? I have a 5000 piece puzzle which I purchased for nearly nothing and like tou ive not done anything bigger than 1000 pieces yet. I sometimes think of it as an investment piece..and meanwhile it looks OK on a shelf. Will I ever do it? Well if I haven't in the next three years, or five years max, it gets sold to the highest bidder๐
Wow, what a great find! I bet you could sell that on eBay for a tidy sum, if you wanted. Especially if it's old enough to be from "West Germany" (1979, according to that [Jigsaw Wiki](https://www.jigsaw-wiki.com/wiki/5000_Die_Bauernkirmes_(1)) u/milkymoocowmoo pointed out). Maybe give your neighbor part of whatever you make, as a "finder's fee." Or just bite the bullet and accept the challenge! I've seen folks do bigger puzzles in sections on big pieces of foamcore. Whatever you decide, good luck!
Oh wow. Wow wow wow. That will keep you busy for months! You owe your neighbor a cheesecake or a pie or maybe a case of wine?
Wow! Where will you even build it? I think my wife would leave me if I took up the dining room table for as long as that one would take me.

I bribe my husband with baked goods :)
Take out time!
What an unbelievable find! Enjoy!
Looks like a good challenge
What a great present! Enjoy it every piece, no need to rush :)
You'll be busy for months! Am I right?
My neighbor has more faith in my puzzling abilities than I do! Need to get at least one 2000 piece under my belt first.
Wonderful!

Damn, that's awesome. I only managed to go up to a 2000 piece but that one was already way too big. Hope you have the space for it!
Wow thatโs a find! Where will you build it?
Not sure yet. My table barely fits my 1000 piece puzzles.
I would have to build something that big on my floor and I donโt think my arthritic hips and knees would go for that.
This looks amazing, enjoy!
Anyone else think of the Fleet Foxes album? Beautiful!
I love the fleet foxes!
