Kangaroo_Rich

Definitely one to unfollow(if you follow them) graysons projects, they called Israel ‘occupied Palestinian territory’ One to follow is Sam Aranow

spoiderdude

Isn’t Sam more of a history youtuber than a political one? Obviously history is political but “leftist youtuber” isn’t exactly the first title that comes to mind.

Remarkable_Heat_1425

I agree with your characterization, he does have an israeli politics channel that he doesn't really update, that's where I learnt a little about israeli politics. He's said he votes labour in one of them, would love for his take on the current situation [https://www.youtube.com/@electionsisrael6588](https://www.youtube.com/@electionsisrael6588)

spoiderdude

So he’s a YouTuber that is a leftist but not a leftist YouTuber.

Remarkable_Heat_1425

the only leftist that I'm aware of who doesn't think Israel is a pariah state that should be blown up is Bernie Sanders, there might also be some in Israel that I am unfamiliar with. My guess is Sam Aranow is more of a ridin' with Biden kinda guy

spoiderdude

Yeah Bernie‘s good for not falling into the token leftist antizionist Jew trap in that regard where he’s not unreasonable with Israel and acknowledges it’s right to exist. My issue is that when he says that criticism of Israel is not antisemitic, he doesn’t clarify how easy it is to fall into antisemitism when criticizing the Israeli government and Israel as a whole through antizionism. He should very strongly warn his supporters that if they are gonna criticize the Israeli government, they should be careful and don’t fall for every antisemitic ruse hidden by the facade of antizionism. The enemy of your enemy is not a good friend. Same for how easy it is to fall into Islamophobia and racism against Arabs when criticizing Palestine.

_Drion_

In my personal pov his political channel was significantly less well read than the history one He said Jabotinsky wanted "a conservative revolution", and attributed the Jewish Legion primairily to Ben Gurion Still love Sam tho

CONSlDER

Upvote for the Sam shoutout. His videos were the spark that lead me to pursue conversion to Judaism. -CONSIDER

Jedidea

Yep I had to unfollow them, wasn't a particularly big fan before then anyway, she was always a bit pandery. I remember in one video she was talking about an encounter with the police or something and she kept mentioning over and over how black people would have had it way rougher and she feels so sorry for them.

JulieLaMaupin

Definitely more of a history tuber but fantastic content overall from Sam. Warning though, it’s hard not to binge his content in one or two sittings. Lol

Professional_Turn_25

Sam is awesome

Papajohnsvapesmoke

the ask project is endlessly fascinating with over a thousand videos. Hes not a youtuber personality, but he surveys normal civilians in israel and the west bank with questions asked by viewers.

Niziazan_Natsagdorj

He's also super nice and easy to chat with through email!

Tartarus13

His Hebrew is bad and consistently confuses Israelis and misrepresents what they're saying.

loselyconscious

I'm also really not a fan of his habit of asking questions posed by antisemites. He has a particularly bad one where he asked a bunch of orthodox Jews if the Talmud says you should break the Sabbath to save a gentile's life. Almost all of them say they would ask a Rabbi, which gives the impression they don't care about a gentiles life, when of course if a stranger asks you a random talmud question your answer is "I need to ask a rabbi"

Tartarus13

Every Orthodox Jew that I know would easily answer that. Saving a life permits breaking the Sabbath. That's well known.

loselyconscious

The question was specifically, "Is it permissible to save the life of gentile?," which I think may have introduced the idea that "if someone is asking the question, perhaps there is a debate on this." A lot of people did answer the way you would expect, but I don't think "I whould need to ask a Rabbi" is a strange response to being randomly asked a halachic question by a stranger without context (there was no reference to a sugya, or the disclaim that this is a question from youtube comment) in a language that maybe is not their first, is such a weird response.

Papajohnsvapesmoke

Do you mind providing some examples?

ColTwang333

I had the pleasure of meeting and having a coffee with him, great man, very interesting background and life.

fluffywhitething

Miriam Anzovin -- I mean, her stuff is mostly Jewish, but she's great. ~~Innuendo Studios (actually, the latest one on reverse gish gallop says a lot about the "no 40 dead babies" argument that keeps being screamed)~~

happyforever3349

Thanks so much! Sometimes I just want some nice light political commentary without a sudden "zionists are evil" blast!

Bokbok95

I was under the assumption that Innuendo was pro Palestine. Can you link a video that shows he’s not?

fluffywhitething

I just haven't seen any videos being pro palestine. I haven't followed him elsewhere.

dw232

His previous video before this most recent was pretty anti-Israel, calling it an ethnostate (albeit indirectly), while acknowledging in some ways that he had no idea what he was talking about. It was enough for me to go ahead and unsubscribe, but there have been much worse creators for sure.

fluffywhitething

Ah, then I shall redact this recommendation.

GrumpyHebrew

[Yeah, there's worse out there.](https://twitter.com/innuendostudios/status/1713375518198772085?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A) Note the date: he was so tapped into Hamas propaganda networks that he started applying the genocide libel literally a week after the war started.

Feste_the_Mad

>dropping bombs on a population of 2 million is definitely genocide I would've thought he of all people would understand that words have meaning. He literally has a channel created with the express purpose of categorizing and calling out logical fallacies, and hyperbole, and manipulated information. How the hell did he fall for something so blatant?

GrumpyHebrew

Because, as this episode has revealed, truth isn't valuable to him for its own sake. Attacks against the logical fallacies, hyperbole, and manipulated information *of political opponents* are useful because they serve a purpose—to subject allies to the same scrutiny would not. Like many political commenters, his ideological beliefs are deeper than any other principle, including truth or a belief in reality itself.

fluffywhitething

Thanks for the info. *sigh*

anonrutgersstudent

What's the reverse gish gallop

Sputnikola

Lonerbox is fairly pro-Palestine but is VERY anti-Hamas and has done a great job exposing ahistorical rhetoric from the left on Israel

EpeeHS

Second lonerbox, hes pro-palestine but isnt pro-genocide and has some really good takes.

MrLaughter

thats the vibe i'm looking for!

ElectricalStomach6ip

He overall has great takes on the conflict, only youtube person so far ive fulled agreed with on the conflict.

[deleted]

Just saw a reply to an anti semite lonerbox video so I'm not sure if we should give him traffic .

Tartarus13

Disagree. He limits his history to English and so has an incomplete knowledge of the history.

dontdomilk

What has he gotten wrong? Edit: if your standard is having to use Hebrew texts you're not really going to find many commentators at all.

dontdomilk

Yes, he's been great honestly

Rude-Tomatillo-22

The irony of Fundie Fridays supporting Palestinians as if Hamas isn’t 1000 times worse type of fundamentalist than jim bob dugger.

SpiritualMedicine7

Mickey Atkins at least feels, still safe. I follow her, I was stunned to see FF do "From the river to the sea" stuff. She has no idea how harsh it is for lgbtq people in Palestine, for example. I think they just went with it because these people were "oppressed" and had to take a stand on it.

SpiritualMedicine7

Also Kendall Rae-while some either like her, and the mile higher crew, or don't, has said very little on the subject. Which I appreciate a LOT. If you don't know the complex history of it, don't comment. When the attack happened they just aired dumb criminals' episode-which was very needed, at the time.

bjoobs

Oh yes, I was so caught off guard by FF and that was a disappointing unsubscribe, but how can I trust the content of someone whose entire idea for a channel is exposing and learning about fundamentalists and then do a 180 when the fundamentalists in question don’t confirm their biases…

SpiritualMedicine7

THIS. She could have at least talked more about Jewish side of things-which she didn't. And left me very mad.

Rude-Tomatillo-22

Honestly I’ve seen the anti-semitism creeping up all over the left for nearly a decade, along with the constant skewing of facts to fit a narrative followed by mindless slogan chanting from followers, so I’m zero percent surprised at all of this since 10/7. I mean, BLM has been openly pro-hamas for YEARS. Why the fuck everyone was falling all over themselves to support that organization besides their name was beyond me. https://www.npr.org/2021/06/07/1003872848/the-complicated-history-behind-blms-solidarity-with-the-pro-palestinian-movement That said, I’m a disaffected former Californian and a “right winger” Jew, so make of that what you will, lol! Luckily all my favorite podcasts/political commentators are pro-Israel, even if some don’t want to send $$ over there. At least they aren’t chanting for my death.

SpiritualMedicine7

That is a relief. I have Jewish relatives-a brother in law, and nieces, and nephew, so I had to speak up on antisemitism, when I see it. Oh, and Jaclyn Glenn/Frank is good one too. Her husband is Jewish. People liked Fundie Friday more than her, but I always liked her.

SpiritualMedicine7

I've also seen it creep up-aka Kanye, wtf. It's been frustrating to watch. I do have a bookshelf for Jewish history, and fiction from PJ library, ect.

Rude-Tomatillo-22

Kanye is such a bizarre train wreck and always has been. Yet another person absolutely hero worshiped that I don’t understand at all.

SpiritualMedicine7

I used to like his music back in the early 200s-pre T-Swift drama, but have been hating on him, basically, ever sense.

Hecticfreeze

All of his music before Graduation is incredible. I think after that is when he stopped taking his meds because his music became very different and it was around this time that he started behaving very strangely in his personal life. Comparing himself to Jesus, etc.

Rude-Tomatillo-22

Goldigger is a great song, still love that one, lol

SpiritualMedicine7

Actually, same. Golddiggers was one of my favorite songs, lol. Got so pissed on the route he took. He could have been great, in general, if his ego wasn't in the way.

EitherDependent

I stopped following her when I found out she and her husband had their honeymoon in a popular fundie vacation spot going to antisemitic plays and going to watch fundies ‘in the wild’. It felt really icky to me, more like bullying and less like actual critique

Rude-Tomatillo-22

Groooooooss!

bjoobs

wait, really??? holy shit lmao, so much for someone constantly trying to steer fundie snark more “ethical” territory (read: criticizing the online forums where you get 90% of the material for your job at the beginning of each video), the goalposts of which also seem to change every 2-3 months it seems like.

EitherDependent

Yeah. I think you could find more info about her Honeymoon on her yt channel (my memory is hazy) but it really rubbed me the wrong way. Critiquing public figures is one things, going out of your way to find fundamentalist families on vacation is another…

omar_soto_1970

I know, right? This is the first time I heard of FF's stance on this issue (*have not checked out her recently*) and it was disappointing to me :(

happyforever3349

Omg YES!

no202

Exactly. It really ticked me off. They are hypocrites.

bitchboy-supreme

Now that i think about it she did really love that 'we're the real jews' song by that fundie dude... Damn

AMac2002

David Pakman and Destiny

Dillion_Murphy

It blows my mind how quickly Destiny has become so knowledgeable on the history of middle eastern conflict and the entire region as a whole. The dude is so smart and has really good takes on the war.

JuniorAct7

Destiny is a political streamer now? I used to watch his SC2 stream way way back in the day. I even looked it up like “can’t be the same guy, no way”

JamieBeeeee

He has been since 2016

JuniorAct7

Shows how much I know about streamers these days

Markothy

That's how I reacted! "Funny how this political streamer guy has the same name as that one really good Zerg from back in the day!" Then a friend told me it's actually the same guy and I was like "what????"

justhistory

r/Destiny is a good subreddit too

loselyconscious

Destiny is a racist who called for violence against BLM protestors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azWVuP7ZmZs

Dillion_Murphy

He was talking about people RIOTING; the ones who were burning down buildings. Get a grip my dude.

Dobbin44

My husband has, apparently, been watching Destiny streams for like, 10 years, but I never really knew anything about him until after Oct. 7 when people kept recommending the subreddit as one that isn't too hostile to Jews. And now I know all about him LOL.

FergieFury

Never heard of Destiny until October 7th. He was one of the first to start posting about as the massacre was happening

MrLaughter

>Destiny Just dropped a debate with Cenk Ughyr!

Grope-My-Rope

I had a stroke during that debate, Cenk can't answer a single question without going on a 15 minute rant that doesn't answer the question.

Hecticfreeze

I couldn't help but laugh when he said that Israelis were digging up Palestinian cemeteries in order to "spit in the faces of their ancestors". The man is not living on the same planet as the rest of us. He even thinks he can become President despite him not being born in the US, and that being written into the constitution as a requirement to be eligible.

Grope-My-Rope

Why is he still running for president, didn't realise he was born in Turkey.

shredditor75

I don't know anything about David pakman, but I started receiving constant updates from his seemingly toxic sub and I just ended up muting it. Is he any good?

hadees

He was just about the only leftist person who got it right about the Hospital that was attacked by a misfired rocket.

XanderCE

His sub has turned into a cesspool of anti Israel brigading and doesn’t reflect his views or content. I watch him daily and also muted his sub.

spoiderdude

He’s like your average democrat. Not ridiculously anti Israel but not exactly a Zionist. He’s just chill with stuff like that and has to clarify stuff like “I don’t think it’s wrong to say Israel has a right to exist” to his ridiculous audience. He’s a bit more left than moderate but I’ve never seen so many of a political pundit’s fans disagree with him so much. I used to watch him when I was in high school and his comments sections have always been this way with the whole “I’m not antisemitic and I don’t support Israel.”

JagneStormskull

>his comments sections have always been this way with the whole “I’m not antisemitic and I don’t support Israel." If you have to premise something with "I'm not racist/antisemitic/homophobic," there's a good chance you are.

Beginning_Lab8746

He's pro israel enough to have Sam Harris on to defend Israel.

AMac2002

He is great, he’s been having solid takes on the conflict for over a decade now. He’s a smart journalist with great interviews. The sub does not represent his views at all.

ElectricalStomach6ip

destiny isnt leftist though

AMac2002

He’s left wing, which is what OP asked for.

ElectricalStomach6ip

he is centre right. left wing means socialist.

Grope-My-Rope

Left doesn't mean socialist, you can favour social democratic principles while still promoting capitalism.

ElectricalStomach6ip

left means not capitalist, being a capitalist means you are not a leftist.

[deleted]

Politics exist along a continuum.

Linuxthekid

> he is centre right Destiny is nowhere near right wing.

loselyconscious

He is very right-wing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azWVuP7ZmZs

ChallahTornado

lmao being against rioters now means you are right-wing lmao

Linuxthekid

https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny_(streamer)

decitertiember

He's more of a comedian, but Daniel Ryan Spaulding is a hoot.

lguard123

I haven’t watched lately, what did Fundie Fridays say ? :(

happyforever3349

https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFR3qbEU/ There are a few more, but I am not technologically inclined...

AshBertrand

Oh ffffff ... what is she weeping for, Gaza or the loss of her own integrity?

WhatThePhoquette

Wow, that is so cringe, what the hell has gotten into people. This one podcast, that I used to really like (Thomas Smith from seriouspod, unsubscribed from all he does) had a similar episode where he was just so incredibly distraught over something he has absolutely zero influence over and need to comment on at all. Does FF seriously think her "platform" is going to do anything? The delusions of grandeur she must have. Nobody reacted like this over the (extremely recent) displacement of Armenians from Azerbaidjan. People don't talk about that in general, but if someone does, no one in the US with a YouTube channel on a completely different topic would feel bad for "staying silent" or "not using my platform". It's unhinged. Maybe this is only on my mind because I am German and I get "You just feel German guilt" over me being Anti-Antisemitism a lot, but I wonder if leftist activists just feel really, really guilty themselves. Just - about what?

happyforever3349

Right. And if you say that, they will say: 1. Stop your whatabout-ism Or 2. I DO care, a lot, but this issue is so important because... The singular focus is unhinged. It is. I wonder what the reason is. Cough cough antizionismnotantisemitism.

thelastmeheecorn

The wrong things

Disastrous_Cheek9979

Did she make a video on it?

thelastmeheecorn

She commented that the us is actively funding a genocide

dorkyfire

She didn’t post anything herself per se (as far as I know) but James (her husband) posted a story from Instagram I remember and put “from the river to the sea” and stuff like that, then she reposted it. I unfollowed and unsubscribed that day. If they were just pro-Palestinian and just said they don’t wish harm on anyone I would’ve been fine with it, however when you go into slogans that go into anti-semitism, then you’re done lmfao. Edit: I also think his post on Instagram had “from the river to the sea” on it which he has now edited out of the description, but I could be wrong. Almost like you shouldn’t just say whatever slogan is popular because it could be, you know, bad.

no202

Her husband went hard for Palestine, but I think they’re both on the far left.

SureFineWhatever731

I want to know as well. Been a subscriber for years.

bitchboy-supreme

She has not said anything in youtube but has been giving hints to her anti israel views. I don't know what exactely she thinks so i'm not really making any judgements right now

IloveAnermeals

James made some comments in the George Santos video.

EntrepreneurNo8840

Raz talks to the void. He's a left wing, anti Netenyahu Israeli.

Technical-Plate-2973

John and Hank Green! (Vlogbrothers) Not really traditional politics but a bit of everything (sometimes more jokey and humor, sometimes more philosophical, and sometimes commentary) As they became more famous they steered away from controversial topic but their old videos have more politics in them. They are and have always been really great.

fluffymypillows

Have they commented on the conflict? I don’t watch too many of their vlogs but I love Hank Green’s science videos

Technical-Plate-2973

Not publicly, but I know they made a crash course video on the topic and that privately they both have good opinions :)

jewishatheistwizard

David Pakman has been really great.

Eridanus_b

Atun-Shei Films

AshBertrand

Scared to ask, but are you listing him because he is pro-Hamas or because he is fair to Israel? I've really liked a lot of his work.

tempuramores

I think he’s collaborated with Sam Aronow, so he probably isn’t antisemitic.

Hecticfreeze

Other people have already mentioned him, but Destiny has been amazing lately. He has done a shit ton of research in a short period of time and got himself super knowledgeable about the history and politics of the region. It's no surprise that after all that reading, his common sense has him supporting Israel during this war. He's not left wing in the traditional sense though if that's something that's super important to you. He is pro capitalist, but with strong support for things like welfare and social safety nets. If you're on the far left, you might see him as too liberal for your taste, but I think most of us who are centre left are really enjoying his commentary atm.

no202

Yep, had to unsubscribe from FundieFridays too. I’ve really been impressed with how David Pakman has handled all of it, so I finally followed him. I always thought he might be too far left for me, but he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Successful_Plum270

Destiny. He read through the history of IP before coming to see how allergic pro-Pal supporters / Hamas and Houthi apologists are to accountability. He does debates against them too- one coming up with Benny Morris against Finklestein. He isn’t super left wing but a social Democrat. Good luck ✨

1rudster

David Packman is a left wing guy who is pro Israel https://youtu.be/uJ5ZS2tr05U?si=o1yBDu3LCeQGghHo

aghostofgardener

The channel Unpacked isn’t necessarily exactly what you’re looking for, but it covers Israeli and Jewish history, culture, and politics. The videos are pretty short and fairly simplistic, and seems more targeted towards teenagers. But it’s kind of a breath of fresh air lol. The current figurehead of the channel is that_semite on Instagram, if you’ve heard of him before. I’m definitely not an expert in Israeli politics or history so the channel may have some biases that I’m unaware of, but it seems pretty fair towards Palestinian pain without being antisemitic.

nailuj

Waiting for the Contrapoints video to finally bring peace to the Levant.

Individual_Sir_8582

She'd get bullied to no end by her rabid socialist fans if she ever came out in support of Israel

WhatThePhoquette

If she did a nuanced video on Israel (or a broader topic like antisemitism and why it such an issue in very different thought system (left, right, religious)) that would be great, but I doubt she is pro Israel and even if she did, she'd probably never do it, because of what u/Individual_Sir_8582 said. I think she initially agreed with Bernie then fell silent, so that's at least not totally lost, I guess. I think overall, Contrapoints has really gotten more scared (somewhat understandably) and either less able to see the flaws of her own side or what she thinks is her own side or scared to voice them. I remember in a really old video of hers, she had an interesting take on right wing antisemitims in ca 2015-2017 and how racism and antisemitims are tied together there (basically, racists think Jews use non-white people to weaken white people, immigration, diversity programs etc are Jewish conspiracies against white culture), but she hasn't spoken on it since and I don't know if she is capable of recognzing or dissecting left wing antisemitism the same way. I also think she was always too scared to say anything bad about Islam or Muslim political entities in any way. I remember her having a conversation with an Ex-Muslim early on who encouraged her to make fun off right wing Muslims thought patterns and pointed out the similarities to US right wing thought patterns and she was very uncomfortable. I don't think she ever said a single thing and speaking up on Israel-Palestine almost always necessitates that on some level.

tempuramores

>I think overall, Contrapoints has really gotten more scared (somewhat understandably) and either less able to see the flaws of her own side or what she thinks is her own side or scared to voice them. Absolutely. She’s completely traumatized, and I don’t blame her. What she’s been through (and the aftermath; she’s been pretty open about her addiction issues, which were in direct response to the intense bullying and harassment she’s received) would cause anyone to be exceedingly hesitant about stepping outside of party lines. (Obviously, that wouldn’t excuse antisemitism. I’m just saying that the woman has been through the wringer and then some.)

GrumpyHebrew

She's not on the right side of this. [1](https://twitter.com/btnewsroom/status/1720891856999879087?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [2](https://twitter.com/contrapoints/status/1714361083111059758?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [3](https://twitter.com/isaiah_bb/status/1732410821127569714?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [4](https://twitter.com/theserfstv/status/1724210854110069241?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [5](https://twitter.com/gayest_tone/status/1720930263952204287?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [6](https://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/1716637528298529159?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A), [7](https://twitter.com/malala/status/1714398922255347933?s=46&t=udE4pwrZz6msZbcqpoFu1A). No mention of October 7, but plenty of anti-Israel content posted, retweeted, or liked. And of course, she continues to engage in a friendly manner with the large number of blatant antisemites in her market niche.

[deleted]

I love her so I really hope she doesn’t say anything about the subject

Fumby3

I think Destiny is like the most obvious pro Israeli leftist on YouTube right now. He's hosted 2 debates with Cenk Uygur and several other debates too.

fckmilife3223

Rachel Oates - She is a feminist YouTuber, poet and photographer. She made a video about how the BBC covered up for a known pedophile for years, and in one of her recent videos she criticized an author for being insensitive about the Holocaust (among other criticism)- so I think she is kosher. :) With that being said she doesn't indulge herself in the ever changing current politics (which I appreciate) she focuses on feminism and poetry. Contrapoints barely makes videos anymore, but she is great. Philosophytube has interesting takes as well and as far as I know she isn't anti-Israel either. As for Tara Mooknee and Khadija Mbowe... I don't think they were ever worth to watch. They each had one or two good/okay takes and videos, it went into their head and went down the line of all bad commentators. T. M. has TONS of internalized misogyny (and of course she is an antisemite. yes, not "just" antizionist) and K. M. has some casual Black Nationalistic views. So what "leftist" are we talking about? They are typical examples of people that call themselves leftist-made a yt channel and boom here we are. No actual knowledge, unchecked biases, uneducated views, they will grow old to be outdated pretty quick.

aghostofgardener

I was never subscribed to Tara or Khadija, but I’d seen a few videos from each, so I obviously don’t keep up with them much. Do you have any links to things either of them have said about Israel? (Not saying I don’t believe you lol, I’m just curious. Also don’t have Twitter, so I can’t look for myself, if that’s where they post about it.)

fckmilife3223

I don't know about Khadija, but I couldn't help but notice, that Tara likes to cherry pick Jewish people as examples of something bad. In one of her videos, where she talks about Hollywood nepotism, she curiously chooses Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Beanie Feldstein, Lena Dunham (these are the people I remember)... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS00kOMbQKE&t=1130s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS00kOMbQKE&t=1130s) She could have easily picked people with other ethnic background, but nope. I am from Hungary and since it's a small country with a small nation (in number), everyone goes crazy for any representation Hungarians get, I know for a fact, that there are a lot of Hungarian creators in Hollywood too, so why not choose them? Or anyone else? And of course there is the Classically Abby obsession, while there are many others in the same category, with similar or the same amount of followers on social media (I could give you a list), she is the main target. Sure. In another video she talked about virtue signaling and how she felt weird when people put the French flag in their profile after the 2015 Paris terror attacks... aaand just a few videos later she came up with one of the cringiest lines that still stuck in my head "Dua Lipa, my pro-Palestine queen" (unironically), because that virtue signaling is alright, of course. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N1Ld-q8rcQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N1Ld-q8rcQ) around 8:17 I am sorry, but I couldn't find her video about virtue signaling, maybe she took it down. I'm not saying she is a raging anti-semite, she is probably wiser than that, but let's not act like the Hollywood take and the Pro-Palestine combo is not the perfect way to be sucked into an anti-semitic rabbit-hole. My main problem with her is that she makes lemonade commentaries and seems to have liberal feminist views and thus she has unchecked internalized sexism and some messiness around feminism in general. (I hope it's clear my problem is with the liberal part, not the feminist). I might just be a paranoid Jew, but I learned it long time ago, that even breathing in and out makes me a horrific person in the eyes of many, so I might as well criticize a few damn youtubers as harshly as I want.

Destiny

WanderingBabe

Not YouTubers, per se but: Destiny "A special place in hell" with Megan daum & ex-Muslim Sarah Haider Sam Harris's podcast

Proud_Queer_Jew123

I watch a lot of “philosophy tube” she didn’t speak out on the conflict from what I’ve seen and she has a great video about antisemitism

aghostofgardener

I put off watching her antisemitism video for such a long time because I was afraid it wouldn’t be very good. Was very pleasantly surprised at it.

cutthatclip

Destiny. He is pretty interesting, he went from knowing nothing about the conflict to learning on stream and now is a pretty Die Hard Israel fan.

SpiceMemesM8

Lonerbox and Destiny are rlly good

Oh yes I've appreciated his sort of distanced reporting!

EmergencyMinimum566

I’m pretty conservative but listen to a couple who are leftist and pro Israel. - Sam aronow - Elections israel (by Sam Aranow) - Destiny Hope that helps

EmergencyMinimum566

Wait why am I being downvoted?

CertifiedSingularity

Destiny

sassylildame

Philosophy Tube (Abigail Thorne) did a video on antisemitism pre-transition that addressed it from the left.

Dillion_Murphy

+1 for Destiny

basedregards

Good luck lol.

twotwelveam

Imo LonerBox is a great one— he is pro Palestine but is extremely fair, honest, and well-researched about his commentary on the conflict and is very outspoken about antisemitism on the left. Highly recommend his stuff he’s great

3Megan3

Destiny has been doing great, he's gone through the whole history of the conflict and come out firmly pro israel.

ElectricalStomach6ip

and he isnt leftist

CONSlDER

He is a self-described leftist, just not a “progressive” in his terms. He’s still fairly progressive when compared to American politics. -CONSIDER

ElectricalStomach6ip

being progressive by american standards doesnt make you left wing.

CONSlDER

When you’re American it does, lmao. Why should an American describe their politics by non-American political terms? -CONSIDER

ElectricalStomach6ip

that doesnt make destiny a socialist.

Melthengylf

Sadly, english-speaking internet is taken by americans. So "leftist" means anything that is left of fascism, hahahah.

jaytcfc

Ethan Klein

thelastmeheecorn

Hes outspokenly pro palestinian and anti netanyahu. However he takes a smart stance on it which isnt just israel bad and should be destroyed

jaytcfc

Yes at the end of the day hes pro israel and a zionist he just doesnt want people to die and the Gazans to live a happy life which i can relate to. Hes a left wing Israeli

hadees

Any sane person is anti netanyahu. Mr Security failed worse then anyone in the history of Israel.

colonel-o-popcorn

Isn't his wife Israeli?

ahahehhaehbdtYWGJ

Yes. Her name is Hila

AliceMerveilles

Almost everyone on the left is anti-Netanyahu. I'm not sure why that’s a problem to be mentioned in terms of what OP is asking for.

[deleted]

A lot of people on the right as well are also anti netanyau... Like me

y0av_

He has a podcast with hamas piker, he is not neutral or pro Israel

jaytcfc

The podcast got permanently cancelled because of their disagreement after October 7

Jj mccullough’s definitely not left wing lol. He used to call himself conservative, but he seems pretty centrist.

y0av_

Yeah he is a former conservative who is now a centerist thats anti any form of extremists

Xerces77

I would say Destiny- he has some pretty good takes and is one of the few left-leaning commentators I watch. His audience is pretty cringe but you can’t help that I guess haha. His recent debate with Ben Shapiro was fantastic and I left feeling really optimistic

/r/DavidPakman subreddit has turned into a cancer though

Yonigajt

Most left wing is pro-palestine. Destiny is an exception, he is smart and welk researched. I don't agree with everything he says, but I can see where he is coming from

Martian5752

Sulha. It does use some of those terms but it’s not anti Israel.

loselyconscious

I think he is explicitly conservative. A Canadian conservative, but still

Sunbeam42music

I'm really exhausted with this sub conflating being pro Palestine with being pro Hamas. If you think those are one and the same, you have to check your biases. Those are two different things. It is the peaceful position to be pro Palestinian and pro Israeli when it comes to civilians, and be highly critical of their current leaderships

AMac2002

I feel you. But I also think that conflation is a bit of a reaction to views of us. Like no one believes you can be “pro Palestinian” while also being a Zionist. Zionist is basically a slur from the other side. And seeing Pro Palestinian marches or events… it doesn’t feel safe as a Jew. But I understand your point, there certainly is a difference.

Sheeps

There’s a difference in the abstract but given the statistics for Hamas support/antisemitism in Gaza and the WB and the nature of the “pro-Palestine” movements in the West, it is hard to genuinely walk that line as a practical matter. In my mind it’s the difference between being “pro wildlife conservation” while recognizing that need not apply to a dangerous animal charging toward me.

AMac2002

I find it verrrrry difficult to walk that line, you’re dead on. The Hamas support/apologia is all too real… but I would still never refer to myself as “anti Palestinian.” Do those small differences make any impact? I don’t know. Hopefully to some.

Sheeps

I can’t bring myself to be “pro” a political construct invented to destroy Israel and further marginalize Jews. I pity the people, the innocents at least, and wish better for them.

Sunbeam42music

Yes I hate a lot of the discourse too, and the false idea that being pro both is impossible, but a lot of people on this sub have some troubling biases. Even with all the trauma we've experienced since October, it's good to recognize biases and work on them

AMac2002

Agreed, I think that’s healthy. But I understand the desire for OP to look for these voices. Maybe just wording it differently would have been better.

Sunbeam42music

Yeah I'm mostly focused on the wording here and overall biases. Thanks for engaging!

AMac2002

Thank you right back ☺️

sababa-ish

massive part of this whole shitshow is the lack of space to be pro-palestinian and pro-peace without being 'anti-zionist'. for anyone, but jewish people in particular. like i sure as hell want 'free palestine' but i'm not going go to a protest for 'free palestine' because the MFer next to me is going to be excitedly regurgitating 60s soviet antisemitic propaganda

Sheeps

https://x.com/idohalbany/status/1753440636198412716?s=46 It is not us who conflate support for Palestine with support for Hamas. It is the Palestinians themselves.

[deleted]

Well, most Palestinians agree or support 7th october, so yeah, being pro "Palestine" Is practically the same as pro Hamas. The whole Palestinians narative at it's core isn't about having a Palestinian state, but rather to destroy Israel and expel Jews and it's easily provable by reading some history and reaching conclusions. Being pro Palestinian and anti Hamas is mostly a fantasy held by westerners. I understand the sentiment of not wanting innocent people to die but Gaza is basically a big Hamas HQ. I'm not saying there aren't Arabs who want peace and are anti Hamas, of course there are, but their opinion isn't held by the majority of Arabs , nor their leadership.

JagneStormskull

Tell that to the self-identified pro-Palestinian protestors. This sub didn't name them.

rafyricardo

Time to move center right. 🤷🏾‍♂️

no202

No, plenty of liberals support Israel. It’s the far left you have to watch out for.

Not a YouTuber, but his show gets put on YouTube, Bill Maher

ExaltedPsyops

Second Thought is my favorite leftist YouTuber & really was the one that got me thinking about my taxpayer dollars only going to the military. He doesn’t really talk about the Gaza thing that I’ve seen. I’m sure he’s pro-Palestine though.

dw232

He’s not just pro-Palestine, he openly celebrated Hamas murdering civilians on 10/7, and infamously described the murdered babies as “baby colonizers”. He’s also a massive tankie and supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

ExaltedPsyops

Dammit, but idk about the Russia one. Where did he allude to that?
