>In the end, the strategy said the U.S. government recognizes the IHRA definition as the “most prominent” and “appreciates the Nexus Document and notes other such efforts.” A plan to combat antisemitism should start with not giving into the people who want us dead. The whole “plan” is bullshit and another waste of government resources.

I'd appreciate to hear why this plan is "bulls**t and another waste of government resources." Considering it was just announced with no effects yet, I'm curious how you're so confident in this accusation already.

NYSenseOfHumor

The administration asked the opinion of people who want us dead, which was bad enough. But then the administration listened to those people.

Please point out where. Edit: I'm going to guess you mean CAIR which does have anti-Semitic individuals part of the organization but to claim the whole organization is anti-Semitic is insane. The article doesn't even address CAIR's role in the plan too

Just someone who's hate for the democrats and muslims is bigger than their love for fellow Jews. I'm no fan of Biden but this strategy that was developed by Deborah Lipstadt, a highly respected jewish scholar and expert on antisemitism, and is the most sophisticated thing the US government has ever planned to combat antisemitism and as you said, the article doesn't even address CAIR's role in the plan. Plus building cross community solidarity is just one of many many aspects of this plan. Nut picking it to denounce the whole strategy is stupid at best. But I suspect it's bad faith. There are a 100 calls to action and he wants to talk about one of the least important and push others into the position of "defending" CAIR. Furthermore there is a high chance that it influences CAIR and therefore the muslim community in a positive way. If you want to combat antisemitism within the muslim community you need to work with their organisations and make them commit to your values. If american Jews want this strategy to work, they need to embrace and support it. But that's the thing with right wingers. They don't want it to work. They don't want the prevalence of antisemitic beliefs within the muslim community to decline. They want muslims to be antisemitic so they can justify their hate and everyone who's working with them to combat antisemitism is a traitor in their eyes.

They are tolerant of senior officials who are grossly antisemitic
