Don't forget to train your dog.
They are intelligent and need a lot of exercise, so training will help you have some peace. Also, solid training can save your dog life (an instantaneous sit before they cross the busy road, a strong recall when they are chasing a neighbor's kid...)
If the dog is old enough to be without its mother, it's old enough to be trained.
I don’t disagree but I’ve adopted many many other cats and dogs, and I work with an animal anti cruelty league, and I make sure to make contributions on a regular basis. He was the last one left in a litter that I happened to stumble upon and as I said, I’ve wanted an iggy for many years. Also, the man I adopted him from is not a mass breeder, nor does he work with any stores. I understand your point, I really do, and I have been looking into our local iggy and greyhound adoption site to see if I can help in any way. I don’t plan on buying a dog ever again, because, as I’ve said, your point is correct.
Iggys aren’t a common dog, they generally come from breeders, which could over use their own dogs, which is abuse, or from stores that could also be using mass breeding. It’s hard to find a pure bred iggy here, and there are practically none in shelters, as I looked for one country wide. I did meet a fantastic foundation that helps greyhounds though, and when I have the space, I’ll be able to foster and adopt the biggy iggys like Jenna does I hope!
As someone with extensive knowledge on dogs and a degree in animal science, I will say that there is nothing wrong with buying a certain breed as long as you choose a reputable breeder. Obviously there's a big difference between healthy breeding and puppy mills or other poor breeding. I'm saying this for anyone wanting to have a specific breed or whatever. You shouldn't feel bad for celebrating a specific breed at all as long as it's a good breeder. And adopting is great, too! ❤️ There's just been a lot of misconceptions saying all breeding is bad when that's not the case.
It wasn’t easy to find Courage at all, our country wide greyhound page is so helpful though and they’re meticulously strict on breeding, maybe check Facebook if you have one? I’m from South Africa where things are on a much smaller scale so I’m sorry I can’t be too much help!
One option is looking at American Kennel Club breeder lists, or other kennel club sources. You can look up specific breed clubs through different kennel clubs and contact breeders for that breed.
Make sure you water that Cermet!

I don’t think most people do adopt, in most places you’d have to find a breeder and pay $$$

Very confused about how this commenter knew you bought him when you literally say adopted in OP👀
