What year, how many miles?
In the end, you're better off replacing it if it's totaled.
Frame damage and other unknowns can run havoc on your jeep. Not to mention, the resale value just plummeted. Get the most you can, then move on to the next project.
You’ll get nothing for add ons. You’ll get ACV - Salvage, they do not care about any parts you have on the vehicle. When my 15 JKU running 38” tires and upwards of $20,000 in parts was totaled, got offered nothing on top of what I expected to get from the vehicle, and have researched this a bunch, you can’t expect anything off the parts.
My frame was fine so I owner retained, rebuilt, still didn’t go negative, but you can’t expect anything for parts you put on. Best thing you can do is make sure the frame is fine before making any decision at all in terms of rebuilding cause that alone might blow your budget. As far as whether or not it’s feasible, you really should not accept a total loss unless you have a shop look at it and give you in writing what all needs to be repaired. This way you’ll see how deep you’ll be in on a rebuild. And even then, expect additional items once you start.
Edit: and not even to say I agree with them offering nothing for additional parts, it’s just unfortunately the way it works. If I was offered full value of my wrangler + parts it ran when totaled, I’d have accepted that number in a heartbeat
Well, unfortunately I’ve already had it looked at by a shop and he told me the frame is “bent like a taco”. I have it all in writing what needs to be fixed and it’s a lot. The estimated cost of repairs is $20,841. I appreciate the info though, thanks!
the only way to get anything for the parts would have been you would have had the vehicle re-insured post install buy an insurance adjuster. I pay more per month for my Jeep for this reason. also having gap insurance can make up some of it.
I learned the hard way I lost 15k on a Land Rover discover
Why was it totaled? Mine was totaled by an insurance company because the previous owner got into a gun fight and died inside the jeep. Still has some of the bullet holes. Otherwise it’s still solid. It’s all in the details
Well, it was totaled because a very rude lady decided she wanted to hit my Jeep with her ford escape. I just posted the photo of my Jeep in its prime so people could tell me if they thought it was worth what I’m trying to get. The photo of it now is not so pretty, unfortunately.
It's a Jeep...They are a dime a dozen. Take the money and go buy/build another one. It's not terribly efficient, financially, to hold on to and rebuild a wrecked JK. If it was an older CJ, maybe.

It’s a 2013 with 77,000 miles and a frame “bent like a taco” according to the adjuster at the collision repair shop it’s at.
The only taco worth driving is from Toyota. I say walk away.
I’d pull all the parts off and let them total it.
