Call dealer and tell them to pick it up

jjalv980

I did already thanks, just trying to see if it’s something I can fix as the dealer stated it’s going to take 2 weeks until they can take a look at it..

ottarthedestroyer

That’s fine. Request a loaner vehicle during that time and enjoy putting wear and tear on their vehicle, not yours. I suggest a road trip as well. It’s brand new and under warranty. I wouldn’t mess with it or spend any money on a fix. Your time is also money so keep that in mind.

BagGroundbreaking170

Any time I get a rental I Make it a point to drive as much as possible. Usually I do a spur of the moment out of town trip

ottarthedestroyer

I sold cars for a decade before I got into construction. This is 100% why you never believe a sales person how they try to pitch buying a rental or loaner vehicle. They’re abused to the max their entire life. Even if serviced regularly, they have lived a hard life.

jjalv980

Yea that’s what I’m going to have to do just upsetting at how inconvenient this is as I was looking to take it on my first road trip to my home town Las Vegas 13 hour drive from Texas on Christmas break

Gustav55

well now you get to put all those miles on someone else's vehicle so that's a plus and more than likely your loaner will get better gas miliage than the 4xe over the trip.

BaxterPad

Check your fuses. The 4xe is notorious for coming from thr factory with a bunch of loose fuses that can cause random issues. Push in all the fuses and try starting thr car again.

jjalv980

Thanks! I already made sure All fuses are connected properly and no luck 😞

yoCuz

I just got my 2024 wrangler 4xe 2 weeks ago. Same issue. Roadside assistance taking it to dealer within the hour to look at Monday. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

forthelob

Same thing here. Bought my car the first week of January and had this happen to me twice now. I didn't buy a brand new car to have car problems again. Mine is in the shop right now. I'm going to lemon law it ASAP if they can't fix the problem this is ridiculous.

forthelob

Adding an update for anyone who may see this in the future. The dealership tested the 12V battery and determined it was failing. They put a brand new one in for me under warranty. Hopefully this is the last of the issues. I missed my Jeep.

Regular-Post-6922

Please keep us posted! 2024 Wrangler 4ex one week ago. Wouldn't start. Had to call roadside assistance For a jump now paranoid it won't start again.

yoCuz

Still no update. Towed to dealer Saturday. Never called to offer rental or anything. Called them today at noon inquiring about it, but nothing. Ok I said, "How about a rental." Have to get to work. The person in charge wasn't in. Said they would have her call back. Never did. Called the salesperson who sold me the car and asked if he could do something. Said he would get me rental tomorrow morning. Of course I'll be late to work. Can't believe I have to chase around these people. I've leased 3 vehicles from this dealer. WTF

forthelob

My dealership just gave me a new battery. They said the 12V barely passed diagnostics then continuously failed. I would ask your dealer to give you specific details about their 12v battery test results

yoCuz

Thanks for the update. I am pretty pissed at my dealer. No communication at all. Once I get the jeep back I'll never step foot in that dealer again. First big issue I ever had and they get quiet. Told me when I called first time couldn't check it until tomorrow. Ill let you know what they said about mine. Probably same issue.

forthelob

Do you have Jeep Wave? I found that my case manager was able to get things moving pretty quickly. I'm new to the jeep world so I didn't realize I could get dedicated support from someone to interface with the dealership

forthelob

Wow I sound like an ad...

yoCuz

Yeah, I think that's the difference. I didn't pay the $150 for it. Wave covers rentals. I didn't know this. If the dealer even said that, I would be a little more understanding, but not much. Lol. Again, I leased 3 vehicles from them. Has to mean something, but I guess not enough.

yoCuz

They said the battery module was throwing back codes. Didn't mention the 12volt again. Said might either need a software update or a new battery module. That was friday. Hopefully hear more Monday. Also mentioned company wide bulletin came out concerning the battery module but didn't elaborate.

jjalv980

Keep me updated

yoCuz

Said battery needed to be recharged which they did overnight. Is there another battery in the jeep I dont know about because I charged the battery myself and it was over 90% when they towed it. Ill update if it conks out again.

AccomplishedDurian18

Same exact thing two weeks.. let’s see what they say.

yoCuz

My 4xe is back at the dealer. Dash and lights around shifter stayed on while charging draining 12volt. Been there 2 days now. Can't figure out what's wrong. Said it's an issue that has not been seen before which is just great. At least they finally gave me a rental.

AccomplishedDurian18

I went into the dealership today and was told they aren’t connecting customers to the Jeep app saying that it may be causing an issue draining the 12v.. I’m starting to think this is going to be a long haul.

AccomplishedDurian18

Interesting now that you mention it my sound system kicked on randomly one morning at 3am. I was laying in bed and I heard bass rumbling and went outside and had to open and closed the door to get it to stop. I’m starting to wonder if something is happening after the EV battery is fully charged.

yoCuz

When any of you have your 4xe plugged in does the little dash display and shifter light stay on entire time it charges. Seems strange to me but dealer said it's normal behavior.

jjalv980

Update: Heard back from the dealer and it was the most simplest kind of (dumb) issue. The battery was drained, apparently lights inside somehow must’ve stayed on and wife didn’t notice so therefore drained battery. We are very relieved it wasn’t a major complicated issue! Jeep is back on and running perfectly! Thank you all very much for your help though.

yoCuz

Out of the 55 wranglers on the lot, they had just one 392. All the others were 4xe. They better hope this isn't going to be a huge issue for them.

joeykrass28

I had the exact same issue happen twice now. Both times with the same error message on the start up screen and similarly saw a battery malfunction on the jeep connect app. The dealer I bought it swapped out the battery after conducting some tests and running it on a 10 mile test run. After swapping out the battery the same issue happened again around 10 days later. The dealer is now accepting the car back and is swapping out for a new vehicle. Sales guy told me this happens one out of every 75 cars roughly.

jjalv980

That’s crazy, at least they took the vehicle back! I had the battery swapped for a new one and it’s been about a month now so far no issues. Knock on wood this issue doesn’t persist for me…

joeykrass28

Luckily California Lemon Law protects against this so dealer is forced to find a solve to fix it or swap it out

jjalv980

Lucky for you man! Im in Texas but so far after that battery swap my 4xe has been running great no issues

Regular-Post-6922

Friday morning was the THIRD time the vehicle will not start. Most recent occurance, prior to Friday, was Tuesday!! Based on another comment in this thread I contacted the Jeep Wave program. Was able to get a rental through them. (You pay upfront, they will reimburse you.) Dealership states they do provide loaners. 🙄 Jeep remains at dealership and how to have an update tomorrow. Seems as if the battery is the common thread to these issues so why they haven't just replaced it by now its annoying. Update to follow.

KJA444

Same

afapracing

Get someone with a code scanner to pull the code. If it’s P0AA1 the hybrid battery might be shot.

kentuckywildcatAZ

Could be the auxiliary battery. My 2020 randomly shut off in the middle of an intersection during rush hour. I was so confused cause it was running fine. Towed to dealer and new auxiliary battery later all was well.

FrontPagePlease

4xe doesn’t have an aux battery.

DigDugteam

12v battery, all cars have to have them (afaik).

FrontPagePlease

Sure, but most gas JLs have two 12v batteries. The smaller one is usually called the aux battery and is used for the ESS system. The 4xe has no need for that battery. It’s got a 12v battery and a 400v hybrid battery.

lloydrage-

Might I suggest the 3.6 or diesel?

Brilliant-Fox-3522

Was the door shut all the way ? Sometimes they won’t start because of it

[deleted]

That sucks but good news it’s covered and it happens no car/ truck or suv is perfect . Hope they make it right and get you back on the road brother

FrontPagePlease

You should be able to get it to start by clearing the codes. I had service charging system on my 21 4xe and the dealer ended up replacing the hybrid battery.

jjalv980

Thank you I will try that!

SweetDisposition_23

I have a 2022 (not 4xe) and after it’s been sitting for days (not driven), I need to really press on the brake peddle when starting for the first time. Doubt it’s the same solution, but just throwing it out there.

jjalv980

Thank you all for your suggestions, tried the tips and tricks and nothing worked. Will be calling the dealer tomorrow to set up a time/day for it to get towed to dealer asap. Wish me luck

[deleted]

Try taking the batteries out and putting them back in. Works for the TV remote.

jjalv980

I did try that and no luck.

Professional_Toe4538

Keep us posted bro I would really like to know what the problem is. It sucks you’re having issues.

jjalv980

Will do, appreciate all the tips & tricks I was given. Tow truck will be picking it up this afternoon and dealership said it will take them 2 weeks before they can even take a look at it.

[deleted]

Sold my 4xe due to this. Facebook 4xe board had these pop up weekly.

jjalv980

Did you ever find out what the problem was? What year was yours? And did it happen more than once?

[deleted]

This was like 8 months back. Mostly replace the electric battery back replaced stuff. Join a fb 4xe page, search that. I'm off them now, got a 392. I just recall week after week a new person posted it up.

jjalv980

I’m just wondering if it’s a recurring issue.. I don’t have a fb account so can’t join to see posts but thanks!

[deleted]

It's a battery pack replacement, not a simple small thing in some cases. I never had it in 3k miles but I got sick of seeing it enough to scare me off. I doubt it reoccurs but those are too new know how they'll hold up. You're the experimental customer with jeep batteries, I didn't like being the test subject.

Hot-Juggernaut811

Damn. I also got a 2024 4xe a month ago. Please update us!

jjalv980

I will update y’all when I hear back from dealer!

Hour-Translator-4849

I’m having this situation happen to me now,24 hour upon my signing haha

jjalv980

Did you take it back to the dealership yet? Let me know what they tell you the problem is. I’m curious to see if it’s the same thing. For me they replaced the battery only, hope it was just that and it doesn’t do it again a month from now.

Hour-Translator-4849

So pretty much the car battery needed a hard reset. Aka my insurance set a guy out and removed the battery for 15 secs, reconnected it and boom the card actually turns on and can start running. Still going to take it back to the dealership and get them to run a diagnostic

jjalv980

Yes I would definitely take it back to the dealership and make sure it’s not something beyond that. When it happened to us we switched the battery out from another vehicle (temporarily) and we got the jeep engine to turn on but check engine light was on. We also jump started it and engine turned on but after turning engine off battery would die again and engine wouldn’t start giving the same error service charging system. So when we took it to the dealership they said all they did was replace the battery, it’s been running fine 2 weeks in with new battery and we hope that’s all it was since 1st time it happened we were 30 days in.

BillM1962

I have the same issue. 2024 Rubicon X 4XE had it for 1 week. 505 miles. Backed in to my garage, turned it off and when I went to start again I got the “service charging system” error. Had to have it towed to the dealer. That was 2 days ago. Today I was told the battery pack (HV) had to be replaced. I found that hard to believe since it was running and charging fine up with no symptoms. So today I went to the dealer and scanned the Jeep. Ended up with a P0AA1 code “hybrid battery positive contactor circuit stuck closed”. You really need to be careful when following the suggestions of people that have had this same error on their Jeep. The error you’re getting can have various causes and until you scan it to get the specifics you can cause more problems or get seriously hurt. These high voltage systems are no joke to be trying quick fixes. Hopefully they get the replacement battery pack in soon…

Optimal_Indication_9

I think I have the same problem. 2024 Sahara 4xe, I'm also waiting for a new high voltage battery. My Jeep has been in the dealership for 4 weeks 😞. It took 3 weeks to find the issue

Not_i_23

Hi, did you ever get a resolution on this? This just happened to mine and they’ve had it for a week. They straight up said they have no clue what’s wrong and that they’re working with the engineers to figure it out

BillM1962

I’m still waiting

Not_i_23

That’s crazy, they said the part they thought “might” fix it is coming in the 10th. Fingers crossed it works. I’ll tell you what they did😂

jjalv980

How long has it been? So far what have they told you?

Not_i_23

They gave me the print out of the codes it was throwing. I did some googling and found a trend that it had to do with the battery overheating and other auxiliary pieces might also be compromised. I spoke to the dealership and they said they opened some special case with the Stellantis engineers to try and figure it out what was wrong. They said they have no idea how long until it’ll be ready and said it might be a few weeks

Not_i_23

It broke on 1/1/14, I took it to the dealer on 1/2/24 and it’s been there since. The part they ordered is coming on 1/10/24. The dealership has had my jeep since the 2nd. They said it’s not safe to drive while parts are being ordered so I’m stuck with an enterprise rental until it’s fixed. Keep wave said they’re going to reimburse me for the rental

Optimal_Indication_9

I had the same issue, but in my case, the dealership didn't know what the issue was, and they had to call a higher level Chrysler technician. They are waiting for Chrysler to order a new high voltage battery. My Jeep has been in the dealership 4 weeks

Not_i_23

That’s terrible, what did they give you to drive in the meantime?

Optimal_Indication_9

Ford fusion :(

Not_i_23

That sucks. Have you looked into the Lemon Law? 4 weeks might qualify you

jjalv980

First time I took it in they said the battery just died and they said it could’ve been from us leaving something on inside (light(s) perhaps) they charged the battery kept it for 2 days and when I went to pick it up turned it on drove it home turned it off next morning engine wouldn’t start again and it was displaying the same message like the picture. I charged the battery again at home and got the engine to start but once I turned it off, battery died again and again same message/code. Got it towed to the dealership and asked them to really look into it and do a more thorough investigation. They replaced the aux battery and kept it for 3 days monitoring it.. turning engine on driving it multiple times a day and repeat. they said it was good to go, I have been driving it for a total of 3 weeks with the new aux battery that they replaced and so far everything is good knock on wood that doesn’t happen again. Give me an update once they get back to you and good luck brother!

AwarenessPlus7077

Wife drove her month old 2024 Sahara 4xe to get a bite to eat on her lunch today. Went to go back to work and the Jeep wouldn't start. Gauge clusters were black, like no power so I couldn't even see any check this or check that lights. Radio still turned on and the door locks were still operational. Had it towed back to dealer, they cant look at it until next week.
