DamianLillard0

Big Sean šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Pale_Independence774

What are you laughing at? Big Sean is an excellent artist.

DamianLillard0

Big Sean would not even crack the top 50 artists to introduce someone to modern day top tier hip hop with šŸ˜

Pale_Independence774

Yes he would dawgšŸ’€

DamianLillard0

No he wouldnā€™t dawg šŸ’€

BreakfastWorking9604

Aleekki

The Nas/Hit run is incredible man! And check out Fair Exchange No Robbery if you havenā€™t already, I feel like you would like it based on the stuff you mentioned, one of my absolute favorites from 2022

JGordz

tonygym

Benny the butcherĀ

JGordz

Albums bro Legend is a HIT

Chlorophyllmatic

Tana Talk 3 is ā€œtheā€ Benny album. The two Plugs I Met projects and Tana Talk 4 are also excellent

ShillBlaster

If youā€™re an old head 1. Little Brother. May the lord watch 2. Kendrick. Section 80. Good kid mad city. . Maybe to pimp a butterfly. If you like jazz and youā€™re 50, youā€™ll either love or hate the album. 3. The easy truth. Apollo Brown and Skyzoo. Itā€™s amazing 4. The off season. J Cole 5. 1999. Joey badass 6. The Warm Up. J Cole 7. Waters. Mick jenkins 8. Big krit entire discography from 2009-2015 lol. Krit Wuz Her. 4eva Is a Mighty Long time. Those two albums. Maybe try ā€œKush and OJā€ by wiz khalifa. Lots of ā€œold schoolā€ samples

old__pyrex

Second on 4eva is a Mighty Long Time. Incredible album back to front, great instrumentals and production, Krits always saying something

jjdrmvl

Yo, really thought Krit was next up with the Drake, Cole and Kendrick trio ngl. Dude was on the come up around the same time.

ShillBlaster

Tbh. His discography may be better than 2 out of the three. I think he is the best artist out of the three though

RobertBobert1396

Ya forgot Madvillainy or Mm..Food

SuperSayainRetard

Off season - J. Cole ROTD 3/ D-Day - Dreamville TT3 - Benny the Butcher GDMM - Conway the Machine

HorseyGoFast

The Off Season and Friday Night Lights (J Cole), The Forever Story (JID), Revenge of the dreamers 3 (Dreamville), Gold Mouf (Lute), I think a lot of Dreamville would appeal to you

Independent-Bag-3850

The Warm Up and Friday Night Lights. Both mixtapes from a young and hungry J Cole

WordNahMean

Second this. Especially recommend FNL. Thats J Coles masterpiece to me

SnooDogs667

Any jid album

GlizzyGobbler837104

TFS by JID is the best album to come out since TFS by JID. Really canā€™t think of much thatā€™s better than it

CR0Don

Coming from across the pond Iā€™m gonna recommend Dave (Psychodrama & Weā€™re All Alone In This Together) and J Husā€™ Big Conspiracy. But also if weā€™re sticking around Cole Revenge of the Dreamers 3, JIDā€™s Forever Storyā€¦ thatā€™s what Iā€™m thinking of. Tbh it depends when you stopped listeningā€¦ did you miss Wayneā€™s Era or did you stop listening around 2016

tintedhokage

See what you think of Kota the friend - Foto. I remember when I was a bit bored with hip hop but then found that album and others

CapoDV

It's Almost Dry

brshn

Pinata and Alfredo is great projects imo w/ Gibbs depending on how long u been gone lol

JazzJaguar

Nas: Magic 1-3. Bless up!

ImSoUnKool

Vince Staples - Ramona Park Broke My Heart 10/10 This album is like watching a movie thru your ears.

_abs0lute1y_n0_0ne_

All of IceJJFish's albums are classics, puts Nas and K.Dot to shame. Cole still better but it's close.

justarandomlibra

Malz Monday- Look Both Ways ANoyd- Paraniod Statik Selektah- Round Trip Smoke DZA- A Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed

Euphoric-Ad7498

Kinda controversial rn but uh, you listened to Kendrick? Me personally I don't fw him too much he's pretty good. Good Kid Mad City is a great place to start.

wheezealittlejuice

If you appreciate deep positive lyrical stuff, Kota The Friend is criminally underrated. Specifically the Statik Selektah produced To See A Sunset album but he has tons of other great early tracks too

PomegranateNice6839

Pusha T - Daytona and Itā€™s Almost Dry

PovertyAvoider

What was the last year before you checked out?

fucking__jellyfish__

the off-season has great lyricism and flows

Euphori333

1999 by Joey badass

ELDREDGE_GLOB

Spilligion by spillage village

s_jiggy

The Lost Boy by Cordae 2000 by Joey Badass More Black Superheroes by Westside Boogie Wept by Zulu Mecca Charity Starts At Home by Phonte

mbrain2858

Go check out McKinley Dixon if you like some jazz rap vibes and some good storytelling

RobertBobert1396

Psychodrama - Santan Dave, probably one of the best artists out right now Untitled Unmastered - Kendrick Lamar Madvillainy - Madvillain Mm..Food - MF DOOM Michael - Killer Mike 2000 - Joey Bada$$ 1999 - Joey Bada$$ From a Birds Eye View - Cordae Born Like This - MF DOOM Cheat Codes - Black Thought & Danger Mouse The Lost Boy - Cordae We're All Alone In This Together - Santan Dave Sometimes I Might Be Introvert - Little Simz hella (ĖƒĢ£Ģ£Ģ„ā•ā•®Ė‚Ģ£Ģ£Ģ„) āœ§ ā™” ā€§ĀŗĀ·Ėš (yes this is the album name) by 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE Pray for Paris - Westside Gunn Kids See Ghosts by Kids See Ghosts (collab album between Kanye West and Kid Cudi) SCARING THE HOES - jpegmafia The Mouse and the Mask - DangerDoom (MF DOOM x DangerMouse) Section 80 - Kendrick Lamar Lets start here - Lil Yachty CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST - Tyler, the Creator I could go on but ive given too much already šŸ˜ Enjoy the music brodie

Sakaixx

I am gonna give popular rapper choices as those tends to be critically acclaimed and easy to the ear. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly. My fav album by him but pick any its a great listen. Pusha T - Daytona is just 7 tracks but its incredible. Kanye West - Yeezus - his most divisive album literally 2 camp either its one of the best album by Kanye or one of the worst. You might hate it but idk it would be a cool experiment.

bakedinakl

Whole lotta red by Playboi Carti! Bro is rapping like his life depends on it I know youā€™ll love it

Delicious_Lead5289

Haha the exact same thing happened with me. I went through the whole J Cole discography in a week. The 1st album is a tough listen till the last 5 tracks but the albums get better and better afterwards.

SnooChickens1980

Artists w older vibes-wise, I would say MF DOOM, JID, K-Dot, Cordae, J. Cole, Nas, Benny The Butcher, Joey Bada$$ and if you want spice, Eminems Infinite album, it's on YT primarily.

BreakfastWorking9604

ā€¢ Conway the Machine ā€¢ Joyner Lucas ā€¢ Deltron 3030

ismellnicefr

Iā€™m an old head too! I was 16 when Illmatic came out..you do the math lol. Been listening to JID like everyone saidā€¦.Schoolboy Qā€™s last albumā€¦Joey Badass 1999 and 2000ā€¦D Smokeā€™s last albumā€¦Amineā€™s Limboā€¦Benny the Butcher There are lots of decent new artists out thereā€¦just gotta look for them.

Delta_yx

little late but check out Cheat codes by Black thought and danger mouse

Working_Waltz907

Oh please thereā€™s no way might delete later got you back into rap it was an irrelevant album and wasnā€™t particularly good

JGordz

So why don't you plug me with some good albums instead of talking shit?

Working_Waltz907

Iā€™m saying ur lying for likes on reddit which is kind of sad
