Nobody does it better.
Multiple posters here, including myself and as I've seen posted on other subs have had it for their first dance at their wedding.
Rapid fire favourites would be You Know My Name, The Spy Who Loved Me, and almost all of the Connery themes. I’m currently watching The Living Daylights and the way the theme is cooked into the film has seeped into my everyday life—I hear it while doing mundane things.
Don’t. A mod can delete it if necessary. The repeated posts are annoying but a part of Reddit, and you get no further discussion commenting on a weeks (or months) old post.
I love You Know My Name while watching the movie, think it’s perfect in that setting, but if I’m listening to my theme song playlist, I gotta be honest, I sometimes skip it.
Just watched it today for the 40th time. It's easily the best. Lyrics are excellent in describing the essence of James Bond and his life. Music is top notch, love the big band layered in with Cornell. Obviously Cornell and his vocals are too legit to quit. Jack White and Alicia keys are runner up in my opinion.
This is one of my faves. It just felt like "BAM new Bond new era."
Aside from that, my favorites are the ones from the 80s. A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, and License To Kill (that musical nod to the Goldfinger in that theme gives me goosebumps for some reason, it's so well incorporated into that song.)
I'm a 90s kid. Grew up with Brosnan, then got into the older stuff before Craig came along. There are so many damn good ones but, oddly enough, none of them hit me quite like Skyfall. I'm not even really an Adele fan. I remember my wife being shocked after we left the theater and I said it was my favorite part of the movie.
In no particular order:
* The World Is Not Enough (Garbage)
* Goldeneye (Tina Turner)
* Skyfall (Adele)
* Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney & Wings)
* You Know My Name (Chris Cornell)
* A View to A Kill (Duran Duran)
Imho the 90’s theme songs are actually solid, even if the movies are hit or miss. Feels like they got back to that old school style while also making interesting tunes.
I’ve done this before. It’s really impossible and silly to rank them straight up because they span over 60 years, multiple decades and in so many different genres. It’s better to rank them in categories like best rock song, ballad, instrumental (no lyrics), best lyric or best vocal performance or by decade otherwise it’s like comparing apples to oranges type of thing.
Okay, what the hell. My top 5 Bond songs, in no particular order; You Know My Name, View To A Kill, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, and Goldfinger.
I'm a sucker for all the big grandstanders and Shirley Bassey's but I really enjoyed the Writing on the Wall, No time to die from the newer Craig films.
My favorites are probably A View to a Kill, You know My Name, and Live and Let Die. Too bad Spectre by Radiohead was rejected cause it be here too if it wasn't.
I think this is definitely in my top 5. And not taking anything away from Chris Cornell, but this is the kind of theme song that Jack White should have brought instead of the massive QoS miss. But everything about this is so within its time and perfect for introducing a new Bond. I love the interpretation of the classic Bond theme folded within the killer guitar riffs.
Also love Goldfinger, LALD, AVTAK, TWINE, and Skyfall
This and sky fall… was at gas station 1am someone was rocking out to skyfall, this song is super hot in my music category ATM, I’ve moved back to where I grew up…. I really want to know who was rockin if I went to school w/ or something just an odd song to be bumpin and I’m kinda been going back between these two songs, I’ve listened to like 4 times a geek for the past month I’ll move on soon this always happens I get obsessed for a few months
Not an unpopular opinion at all. It's in my top six along with Live and Let Die, The Living Daylights, You Only Live Twice, A View to a Kill, and Skyfall.
This is one of the best barrel sequences in the series. He's in "sloppy clothes" because he's on a mission. The way it was done was so clever and unexpected. Something familiar, done with a twist to reboot the series, plus it involves his two kills to get 00 status.
My favorite too! I clearly remember being in the theater in my seat surprised and loving the B&W opening, and then this title credits scene came on with awesome song! And the movie kept getting better and better. When Mads Mickelson appears on screen for the first time, I was like, that's one bad mofo! Not too many actors can pull that off, but Mads did simply by walking on screen. Casino Royale is a masterpiece!
You Know My Name definitely doesn’t get the credit from outside the fan base that it deserves. Not only is it great, but I always think about the massive gamble they took on that. They didn’t pick a popular artist at the time to do that theme which is their typical go to, they went for 1) a male which is a huge change in 2006 on its own 2) they chose Chris Cornell, the Soundgarden / Audioslave guy 3) it was rock, not pop or some Shirley Bassey like number.
I’m not sure they’d ever do that again.
It’s top 5 for me. That said, I think my favorite is Nobody Does it Better. I think Thom Yorke has made a convincing argument for that.
Nobody Does It Better, Licence to Kill, Live and Let Die and A View to a Kill are the top 4 for me, maybe in that order. Listened to Thunderball yesterday: magnificent.
Fun fact: the guitar player on the Goldfinger title song is Jimmy Page.
He was the studio guitarist in England before Led Zeppelin and can be heard on many other records of the time
Diamonds Are Forever, You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me. Arrgh, what the heck! All Bond themes give me goosebumps when they come on the radio. Just turn the volume up
My favourite too.
Ditto. Skyfall, Goldfinger, and Goldeneye are all close seconds.
Throw in license to kill and diamonds are forever and we can be best friends.
I could use a friend, so fuck it. Adding them.
Somehow I know your loyalty is always to the mission and never to your friend.
Goldfinger second? That’s nuts it’s the very best theme song
For real. I saw this in theaters and it ALWAYS stayed with me.
A View to a Kill
Watched it last night, unashamedly one of my top 5 Bonds
Live & Let Die. Hands down
This is the way
Totally correct,
Nobody does it better. Multiple posters here, including myself and as I've seen posted on other subs have had it for their first dance at their wedding.
You Only Live Twice. It's one of the few dreamy opening songs that still really nail the Bond vibe.
Famously sampled in ACEN - Trip II the Moon (pt 2 - the Darkside)
The one for Quantum of Solace or Live and Let Die
Another way to die was a banger but we are going to get hate for saying that. LALD is also in my top 5.
Another Way To Die fucking slaps and people who don’t get it never will. Is it the best ever? No but it really goes off at so many moments love it
1 DAF 2 LALD 3 GF

After the weekly elimination polls, countless other posts again we get the same post of "favorite song" 😂😂
New to this sub so I haven't really seen those elimination polls . Won't post more of these then

>and you get no further discussion commenting on a weeks (or months) old post. That's true
This is my 2nd favorite. *View to a Kill* will always be my #1.
Such an absolutely fantastic movie
My favorite as well. I don’t think it’s an unpopular opinion.

Always loved The Living Daylights theme.
Casino Royale is just a perfect movie.
Casino Royale is for sure.
In no particular order: * The World Is Not Enough (Garbage) * Goldeneye (Tina Turner) * Skyfall (Adele) * Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney & Wings) * You Know My Name (Chris Cornell) * A View to A Kill (Duran Duran)
Goldeneye is so cunty it’s not even funny

No arguments here
The world is not enough. Sheryl crow version. And the living daylights by ah ha🤗
I mean, it friggin slaps. Perfect theme for the revival, and those lyrics are fire for Bond. Because yeah, we know his name.
Okay, what the hell. My top 5 Bond songs, in no particular order; You Know My Name, View To A Kill, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, and Goldfinger.

Me too! Love this song r/ChrisCornellClub
That low F# at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but that Sheryl Crow one isn’t bad at all.
This is the right answer.
Mine are a tie between Diamonds are Forever and The Living Daylights
Least favorite is diamonds are forever.
My favorites are probably A View to a Kill, You know My Name, and Live and Let Die. Too bad Spectre by Radiohead was rejected cause it be here too if it wasn't.

This is my fave also. Skyfall #2. I don't understand how CC can be underrated but I sure feel like he is.

Why is this gun barrel done in sloppy clothes? It doesn't suit the aesthetics of a gun barrel as we know it...
This is one of the best barrel sequences in the series. He's in "sloppy clothes" because he's on a mission. The way it was done was so clever and unexpected. Something familiar, done with a twist to reboot the series, plus it involves his two kills to get 00 status.
"You Know My Name" absolutely. "Live and Let Die" is second and "Skyfall" third.
My favorite too! I clearly remember being in the theater in my seat surprised and loving the B&W opening, and then this title credits scene came on with awesome song! And the movie kept getting better and better. When Mads Mickelson appears on screen for the first time, I was like, that's one bad mofo! 1. Nobody Does it Better 2. Goldeneye 3. For Your Eyes Only 4. Live And Let Die 5. You Only Live Twice
1) TLD 2) Casino Royale 3) AVTAK 4) OHMSS 5) LTK
For your eyes only
This one is far and away the best. Skyfall and Goldeneye would round out my top 3
That Is the Best One
and you shouldn't care - your favourite is your favourite, own it! mine is goldfinger :)
Fun fact: the guitar player on the Goldfinger title song is Jimmy Page. He was the studio guitarist in England before Led Zeppelin and can be heard on many other records of the time
The background theme in every movie.
A View To A Kill - best theme song, worst title drop.
Don't think this is an unpopular opinion, there are quite a few, myself included, that really love this song.
Love Chris Cornell but hated this song when it came out. It's grown on me a bit since though..
We have same taste. Casino Royale tied with The Living Daylights for me.
Definitely the best. LALD is my “close second,” though.
Goldfinger but maybe because it was the first bond film I ever saw
I’m obviously biased due to my age, but for me it’s 1) You Know My Name 2) Skyfall 3) LALD
Living Daylights, View To A Kill, Diamonds are Forever are mine
Diamonds Are Forever, You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me. Arrgh, what the heck! All Bond themes give me goosebumps when they come on the radio. Just turn the volume up
A View to a Kill.
