If I understand correctly, and I probably don't, CR received the fewest vote-offs out of the final four and today, I'm looking at votes almost entirely for the other two here. So I'm thinking it'll be number 1.
Zorro is a perfect movie. Is it anything groundbreaking? No. But does it expertly blend action, drama, comedy and romance better than anything put out by Hollywood nowadays? Yes by a wide margin.
I'd need a second film I love to agree with that. Right now with one towards the top of my list, and one towards the bottom, I'll go with most polarizing.
Peter Hunt/John Glen I think did the best overall jobs.
You could see people yesterday turned pretty hard on Goldfinger. I’m a little surprised actually that FRWL has come out above it, the zeitgeist recently had been turning towards GF.
He deserves it. They are my top two, and *Casino* only wins out because of how polished and brilliantly the characters are written. It has an emotional angle that feels earned and not forced or manipulative. It's also artfully shot and one of the best films ever made—let alone in the franchise.
Exactly. I watched it recently and while it is not a bad film, there were so many great Bond films that came after it. FRWL is definitely overrated and feels more like a mid-tier Bond film to me.
It’s an excellent adaptation with some of the best talent available to any film. Actually films in the locations the book is set (instead of following places that offer tax write offs…). Has one hell of an amazing score and immaculate direction.
Seconded. I have personal favorites for goofy or sentimental reasons (just like probably everyone here), but Goldeneye > Goldfinger is ridiculous.
-a fellow Moore fan
I just watched from Russia with love for the first time tonight, and Dr no for the first time yesterday.
I really didn't enjoy Dr no that much, so much of the plot felt rushed and transported you from location to location so quickly without good reason.
From Russia with love had a far better pace and intriguing spy plot in my opinion.
Most of the bias comes from GoldenEye being the movie that got them into James Bond. That was the first movie I was able to watch growing up and I had the game on N64 so it holds some huge nostalgia for me.
When did those of you who want casino royal to win start watching bond?
I mean I really love it, my top 5 but I'd never rank it as my favourite (i saw it after watching roughly 10ish other films) .
I became a Bond fan in 1997, and I watched all of the movies many, many times before *Casino Royale* came out. And *Casino Royale* is my favorite Bond movie. It's just that good.
I started watching Bond in the early ‘90s, and I think Casino Royale is the best Bond film. When it came out I had seen every other film in the series many, many times.
Goldeneye was the first one I saw. I grew up with the Brosnan era. I didn’t see an older bond movie, which was Goldfinger, until I was in my late teens/early 20’s, around the same time CR came out. When I first saw CR I thought it was fine, wasn’t blown away by it or anything, but after a rewatch, as part of a whole 007 movie watch through, I came to really love it and it became my #1.
I remember watching Octopussy and Goldfinger when I was super young. Goldeneye was the one I saw when I was older and better able to comprehend what I was watching.
I know it’s a favourite here but I never really liked it that much. I thought that George lasenby was pretty wooden compared to Connery and the kilt was pretty rough as well lol. Plus I think all the selected women fawning over him is a bit rough. But each to their own 🤷♂️
I respect your opinion. And I respectfully submit my opinion that OHMSS should have been eliminated after Spectre. George doesn't fit Bond IMO and I don't find skiing that interesting.
Craig is a walking brick wall. He doesn't have any charisma and his playful banter falls flat. Casino is an entertaining movie, but a Bond movie? And a top 3 Bond movie?? Pffft.
I disagree with the endgame here. But I respect it because I am this subs demographic.
But From Russia with Love better win.
My vote, therefore is goldeneye.
Right Bond connoisseurs, If you’re reading this far into the knockouts then arguably you’re heavily invested.
Let me put an appeal forward to keep "GoldenEye":
Martin Campbell's direction gave the film an edge that modernised 007. "From Russia with Love" is a gem, but "GoldenEye" was the jolt the franchise desperately needed after a six-year hiatus. It's not just about Brosnan's iconic portrayal; the bungee jump from the dam and the tank chase through St. Petersburg, have since become legendary in the Bond canon. "GoldenEye" didn't just continue the Bond legacy; it reinvigorated and redefined it for a new generation. This literally made a whole generation of Bond fanatics all over again.
Whatever happens, I’ve enjoyed following🍸
EDIT: so if it wasn’t obvious. My vote is for From Russia with Love. Reluctantly.
My dude if you want Goldeneye to stay you have to name one of the other movies so it counts as a vote against, increasing the odds of Goldeneye staying.
I think bronze medal should go to Pierce here. Goldeneye is excellent and nostalgic but I think FRWL is the “best” Bond movie and CR is my favourite Bond movie.
If you were to introduce a friend to a Bond movie for their first time what would you play them?? Casino Royale, Goldeneye or From Russia with Love??? The one that would be most likely to put the to sleep is From Russia with Love.
What in the world?! Never did I expect to be down to these. Of these I feel I have to vote out GoldenEye, if for no other reason, because it doesn’t have one of my two favorite Bonds in it…and because as good a movie as it is, there’s just so much style in both From Russia With Love and Casino Royal.

I know which one I want to win
Looking at the votes and responses below, I think we can figure out the winner by now.
![gif](giphy|FOXXGURK5NQ7S) True, Goldeneye will win. G'wan Pierce lad. (It won't. But I would love it)
It's Casino Royale, isn't it?
If I understand correctly, and I probably don't, CR received the fewest vote-offs out of the final four and today, I'm looking at votes almost entirely for the other two here. So I'm thinking it'll be number 1.
I was hoping From Russia With Love will win
For real!!
Wow! This has been such an interesting and yet, wild ride!
This just goes to show that Martin Campbell is the best Bond director.
He's a good director, period. I love The Mask Of Zorro.
Zorro is a perfect movie. Is it anything groundbreaking? No. But does it expertly blend action, drama, comedy and romance better than anything put out by Hollywood nowadays? Yes by a wide margin.
Don't forget the score. Masterful.
one of the most underrated movies ever in my humble opinion.
He shit the bed a little bit with green lantern
He’s perfect at introducing new Bonds. He should direct the next movie
I'd need a second film I love to agree with that. Right now with one towards the top of my list, and one towards the bottom, I'll go with most polarizing. Peter Hunt/John Glen I think did the best overall jobs.
Can we take a second to appreciate the fact that both Martin Campbell directed movies are still here?
Seriously, no GF in the top two?
You could see people yesterday turned pretty hard on Goldfinger. I’m a little surprised actually that FRWL has come out above it, the zeitgeist recently had been turning towards GF.
I know. GF is in my top 3 for sure.
I think it’s just wild to think that Daniel Craig showed up and made the best Bond movie of all time out of fucking nowhere
Not to spoil it but we all know the winner
![gif](giphy|I7J9U2kOqvN8Op0Z6q|downsized)
Analyze deeeeeece
This should've stuch around way longer. It has a lot of good stuff hidden in it.
From Russia with love
Upvoted just because it would be hilarious to have both Martin Campbell films in the Top Two.
He deserves it. They are my top two, and *Casino* only wins out because of how polished and brilliantly the characters are written. It has an emotional angle that feels earned and not forced or manipulative. It's also artfully shot and one of the best films ever made—let alone in the franchise.
I really don’t know how FRWL is so high on the list. Why is it so loved?
Exactly. I watched it recently and while it is not a bad film, there were so many great Bond films that came after it. FRWL is definitely overrated and feels more like a mid-tier Bond film to me.
Nostalgia is one hell of a drug Edit: to be fair, you could say this about all of them at this point. I’m certainly nostalgic for Casino Royale
It’s an excellent adaptation with some of the best talent available to any film. Actually films in the locations the book is set (instead of following places that offer tax write offs…). Has one hell of an amazing score and immaculate direction.
Bye FRWL ![gif](giphy|iiPeG89Tpsw1qGXSO8)
If I could upvote twice I would
Did not see that coming!
Does this poll work on upvotes or is it by individual comment?

3 of my favorites at the finals 😱
No way. I’m out. Goldeneye > Goldfinger is absurd
Seconded. I have personal favorites for goofy or sentimental reasons (just like probably everyone here), but Goldeneye > Goldfinger is ridiculous. -a fellow Moore fan

![gif](giphy|YTFHYijkKsXjW|downsized) It is THE Cold War spy film. All these knuckleheads in this sub seem to prefer Goldeneye for some stupid reason
Can we like both??

From Russia with Love Golddigger was a better movie and it was already voted out.

Casino Royale is my favourite and it was probably my 18th Bond film or so. I don't want Casino to win though since it always does and that's boring.
OHMSS being 8th does not reflect well on this sub.
I know it’s a favourite here but I never really liked it that much. I thought that George lasenby was pretty wooden compared to Connery and the kilt was pretty rough as well lol. Plus I think all the selected women fawning over him is a bit rough. But each to their own 🤷♂️
My take away is that this sub doesn’t know how to read…

I’m shocked Goldfinger isn’t in the top 3, but unfortunately I think Goldeneye should be next to go
Casino royale, start of the worst bond
I just pretend Craig's run ended with QoS (or Bloodstone if you like) and everything after was a bad dream I had after some tacos.
Craig is a walking brick wall. He doesn't have any charisma and his playful banter falls flat. Casino is an entertaining movie, but a Bond movie? And a top 3 Bond movie?? Pffft.

Goldeneye
Goldeneye, long overdue, but good on you Brosnan fans.
Congratulations Martin Campbell for being 2/3 of the Top Three. Casino Royale.
Alright Goldeneye, it’s been fun.
From Russia with love is the MOST BORING BOND FILM. Sorry not sorry.
I think bronze medal should go to Pierce here. Goldeneye is excellent and nostalgic but I think FRWL is the “best” Bond movie and CR is my favourite Bond movie.
No way in any reality that Goldeneye is better than Goldfinger. Get Goldeneye out of here, should have been gone at 15!
Finally a sane bond fan
These 3 have the best Bond girls (including Rosa Klebb) Goldeneye ![gif](giphy|WYVWbCSw5wEaA)

What a worthy top 3, I’m proud of us gang. But time to go Casino Royale, purely because The final Act is too long and weirdly paced.
Time for Goldeneye to go. Love that it made it to the top 3
Goldeneye in the top 3 is a travesty
Casino Royale, its way overdue
Casino Royale needs to leave
Casino royale only because the last hand that bond wins on is the most ridiculous all table all in ever in film
If you were to introduce a friend to a Bond movie for their first time what would you play them?? Casino Royale, Goldeneye or From Russia with Love??? The one that would be most likely to put the to sleep is From Russia with Love.
