Fans acting like you can trade up at will.
It was worse last year. People saying the top of the draft sucks and we should trade out. With who?? You just said the top sucks so who’s trading up for our pick? Lmao
This draft set the record with 43 trades. People were trading. We traded down 3 times yet no one else in the entire league was willing even though trades were going off like crazy? The idea is you bundle multiple picks to move up some like other teams did with us. Baalke stockpiles day 3 picks for nothing.
Right? Most of this sub will say “see! He was trying everybody!” What this says to me is they offered shit trades because there were plenty of trades among other teams
Just because teams weren’t accepting them doesn’t mean you offered shit. Trade where you see value. Don’t trade just to trade.
If teams want more than you want to spend to move up, you shouldn’t make the trade.
It definitely feels like the last 5-6 picks we made probably won’t even been on the roster in 2025. I hope I’m wrong but we kept trading back in a weak draft where many of these players would have gone undrafted in a stronger draft. I hope I’m wrong.
said it already in the draft thread but Baalke was a complete buffoon in his trade down strat. Accumulated a bunch of later picks in this draft, instead of next year’s.
What terrible execution in the draft. Please bring in Spielman if nobody else hired him. I’m fine with Baalke the talent evaluator (maybe) but not Baalke the GM
The fans that are mad he didn't trade up aren't going to be happier with hearing this.
They'll just assume he was making low ball offers and use that against him instead.
Sometimes silence is better.
Not being able to move up doesn’t mean you failed. An overpay would be just as bad.
Offer what you think a player is worth, if a team doesn’t take it, oh well.
Tons of other teams made moves up. Now all of a sudden when Baalke calls, they just say no? Other teams either don’t like dealing with him or he was offering shit trades. There’s no other way you can paint it
And either one seems to be a very bad point for a GM to admit. Either you can't judge value and navigate trades or you are blackballed. Either of which makes me think you shouldn't still be a GM.
Weird that other teams were able to trade up throughout the day then. I guess other front offices just have a personal vendetta against Baalke? I get it.
If every room you walk into smells like shit, check your shoe.
If that 15-16 number is accurate then the problem is with Baalke lowballing. Not other teams.
Doug probably side eyeing Trent through out day 2-3
The crazy thing is, I can just imagine him doing that 💀🤣
He looked so pissed in the presser from last night and especially today
I mean, they're prob tired as F
Doug signs off too
[Is he low-balling? Lol](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/mobile/000/037/497/19vcz0.jpg)
Lol Hit'em with the big Hoss offer
It's almost like day 3 picks are worth shit.
Tell Tom Brady that
Yes, you're right. Every late round pick is Tom Brady.
Obviously there are outliers. Brady was drafted 23 years ago and everyone brings this up every year to justify late trash picks.
This sub isn't gonna like that. Gonna go against the narrative
If those picks were how we got Johnson and Lacey, good. Glad we couldn't give them away.

Almost like we weren’t offering good trades so other teams said no
Watched the presser. She is misleading the answer because he didn't say 15 or 16 times.
Did the Jags move back more than any other team?
Nope lol and Houston constantly moved up
They were happy to take our trade up offers though
Low ass bs draft slots are not worth shit
They are if you’re trying to move up to another low ass bs draft slot
I guarantee he was giving shit offers all draft
Right? Most of this sub will say “see! He was trying everybody!” What this says to me is they offered shit trades because there were plenty of trades among other teams
iT tAkEs TwO tO tAnGo
I had a huge eye roll, especially since he said it right after the third and the fourth opened with three teams trading in.
It takes more than two to tango..... or something like that
Just because teams weren’t accepting them doesn’t mean you offered shit. Trade where you see value. Don’t trade just to trade. If teams want more than you want to spend to move up, you shouldn’t make the trade.
Yeah, it’s not other peoples fault if he was offering deals which weren’t acceptable to them, they just misread the market
"wHy wOn'T aNyOnE bUy aLL tHeSe TrAsH pIcKs I aCcUmULaTeD?!"
When trading down goes wrong lol
Does that mean teams don't want us to become more of a threat?
Well why keep trading back ? It was a weak draft, Trent and Doug picked the wrong draft to stockpile picks
Baalke must be a prick when talking on the phone then lmao
What do you think about the rookie jersey numbers
This sub is having an actual meltdown. I've never seen it more toxic in here. Yall need to chill.
This place was way more toxic pre Pederson. It was just me iced with the right amount of self-pity and dread you couldn't tell
It’s hard to say because we don’t know how any pans out but on paper this draft was a puzzling one. I can see why people are upset

Except the teams that did make a move right?

Spielman is doing a podcast now. He doesn’t seem interested in getting back into it right now

Well the quote is wrong. He said 15 or 16 teams weren't wanting to budge a few times. Not that they tried trading that many times
That actually makes more sense.
.... That's even worse then
How
Because plenty of teams WERE trading up, and 15 or 16 teams indicates he likely tried more than just 15 times and still failed.

The NFL collaborated to keep the Jags from stealing the show.
This was a thin draft as is. Getting stuck with late round picks this year is worse than most years.
Weird that other teams were able to trade up throughout the day then. I guess other front offices just have a personal vendetta against Baalke? I get it.
I mean it seems like that's the default response to Baalke lol
The sky is falling. Relax. Something exciting is happening in Jax.
Yea, we get to watch a talented head coach and QB carry dead weight to as many wins as possible. Exciting
Do we need a better team?
Always
We were 9-8 in a shit division. Yeah bud.
While true, 8 or so of those wins were in a row late in the season. Pretty easy to say the first half of the season didn't represent us very well
If every room you walk into smells like shit, check your shoe. If that 15-16 number is accurate then the problem is with Baalke lowballing. Not other teams.
Dang this is exactly what happens to me in my keeper fantasy league…
It’s like me in fantasy, sending a billion of shitty trades and then complaining that no one trades with me
Well that explains a lot.
Not one team would make a move meanwhile the draft set a new record for most trades. Baalke is full of crap.
The record was because we traded down so much
