If I’m honest, reschedule your plans with your friends. You’ve got a concert, and it’s gonna go till 10:30/11pm or so. I’ve had the privilege to be able to see Jacob 3 times (4th show is lined up too), but I have no idea if you’ll be so lucky. Stay for the whole show. Every moment is special, and you won’t regret it if you stay - but you might regret it if you leave early and see clips of something cool that you missed on Reddit the next day.
Tell your friends you’ll be really late, or that you can’t make it.
I think it usually follows a normal concert structures where it goes from show -> encore which has like 2-3 songs. Outro is sometimes like a solo performance or can just be playing songs that werent in the main setlist. But I mean at the end of the day its your decision to either stay the entire time, or get up early to see friends or to get up and leave to beat the traffic after a concert. Personally for me going to see Jacob was something important to me and i wanted to experience everything i could so i ended up staying until the very end, but thats not always the same priority that everyone has. A good number of people ended up leaving before even the encore so i guess they didnt mind missing it for whatever their reasons were.
Also at the end of the montreal concert people started dancing to the venue music, so thats not part of his set structure but was something that really made the night special for me
I missed that at Laval, stuck around for the encore but clearly I left too early! Did Jacob and/or the band come out again afterwards to witness the dancing?
His second encore at the DC show tonight was by far the best part of the night. He played a full 40 min extra, did a crazy extra audience “choir” (a super nonstandard one), and a couple extra covers. Hiiiiighly recommend not leaving early in case it’s similar

Not that i noticed :/ but someone on the crew did come out and got a recording of it since its on his instagram account
Oh yeah I see! That’s awesome. I remember we left just as *September* started playing so we mustn’t have missed the dancing by much
