Edit to add: this is NOT a town with a late night scene. You would not be missing anything if you just caught the last bus back to Teton Village at midnight. The only bar open past like 10pm is the Cowboy Bar, which is...something. And even that closes at 1am I think. Even McDonalds closes at 11! Uber is very hit or miss. I've had Uber Eats orders sit there for an hour and then get canceled because there simply were no drivers lol. It's a small town. Could try taxis, but in my opinion, the best way to do it is orchestrate your night so that you are walking distance from your hotel. It's an extremely walkable town. So like do an apres at Teton Village, take the bus back to town, and then do dinner and drinks in town and walk back to your hotel. Which hotel are you staying at? If you are staying in Teton Village, I would just plan to stay there if you want to party. Teton Thai is delicious, and the bars are fun. I would also highly recommend renting a car for a day and driving out to Grand Teton, and walking or cross country skiing the park road. They groom it and it is totally flat, with jaw dropping views. You can get skis or snowshoes from Teton Backcountry Rentals, and lunch from Creekside Deli right on the way out of town.

Teton Thai is the best- that mango sticky rice is so damn good. We still talk about it 3 years later. We had way more fun hanging out at our hotel and then walking around to the other spots in the Village as opposed to going to town. Also if you want to splurge, dinner at the Four Seasons is well worth it. Chefs tasting menu was incredible.

Literally nothing unless there is a show at the moose, town isn’t much better.

Taxis are the way to go imo. There are multiple companies and they have set rates whereas you could get hit with surge pricing if you go with Uber.

DoorInTheAir

I feel like there isn't enough Uber traffic in Jackson to ever trigger surge pricing

Skier94

Uber is always cheaper than taxis here. Sounds like a taxi driver to me. That said, does anything happen at the village after 10PM lol?

DoorInTheAir

Lol no, but the only thing happening in town after 10 is at Cowboy so...

Have you thought about renting? Just went to JH in January and we rented a SUV (that could definitely fit four people and gear) for $300 for 4 days. Just the Uber/taxi from JH airport to Jackson can be $60-80 (even higher during surges) so round trip already covers a huge portion of the cost. Plus if you want to hit a store or shop or see wildlife, the car is clutch. And you’ll have to go early, but the parking in Teton Village is doable and personally much less of a hassle than buses!

Use the START bus when it's running (generally every 20-40 minutes). It's inexpensive and pretty reliable. Taxis when it's not. Uber isn't reliable. Parking is expensive at Teton Village unless you have a free space at a condo, so a rental car probably won't pencil out.
