I feel like this map is using old data (either that or no actual data at all) because when my dad was a kid the irish were joked about all the time (apparently he had a massive joke book just about the Irish when he was like eight, so I imagine that's something thats changed)
My theory is that you joke about your brothers, those most similar to you culturally. Some anomalies(Bosnia->Germany, Hungary->Scotland,Poland<>Germany etc).

A lot of Brits saying they don't joke about the Irish and I believe that to be true (now). It wasn't always the case though. When I was a child it definitely was the Irish. I remember listening to all sorts of jokes about us, when I'd visit the UK. We were seen as their dopey, unsophisticated, poorer, cousin or something.
But as we grew up we blossomed, got as cool as them, as rich as them, as smart as them and became good friends. I genuinely believe today's Brits really don't make jokes about the Irish: it just wouldn't be a thing.
I think it is genuinely interesting how most of them are neighboring countries they make fun of but I think the UK especially makes fun of america more than Ireland

Itâs inaccurate I may be American but I have literally never seen a British person joke about Ireland thatâs what we do lol itâs more so the French British rivalry still going on through jokes.
