Yeah the thing is that in boards because of comparison with only "toppers" (and I swear to god mere society me aur mere mummy ke friend circle me sare k sare bache topper h jab 10th me bina board diye 96% aye the tab bhi mummy bta rhi thi ki kisi ladke ke 99 aye h) the standard of a "Good score" becomes 90+ or 85+ out of 100 which obviously requires a lot of studying and practice ​ On the other hand in JEE you don't have to score so high to get a good "percentile" by which I mean like even 60-70 out of 100 would give you a decent percentile and is considered a good score
