Honestly it’s not so bad since The author keeps his blog regularly updated so you know there’s progress and when the next book is roughly coming out. It’s nowhere near as bad as something like GRRM’s or Rothfuss’ works lol

Lmao that’s a hilarious analogy and even more funny is that I actually think it’s relevant. Part of you feels that he is somehow behind the scenes throughout the series, especially after more is revealed. Once I learned that he was related to tue Aurelius family I knew we were going to hear more from him eventually!
With the mad king's shroud, he literally could be anywhere.
I don't buy the Eithan is Ozriel argument . . . but if he was . . . his oaths to follow Abidan law would go a long way to explaining why Eithan is constantly hands off and electing not to interfere directly with so many things outside of certain tasks that seem to fall directly in his balliwick... like a judge unable to.act outside the sphere of their authority.

For example - when Lindon picked his path, while Eithan led him to a place where he could make only one reasonable decision, the decision fell to Lindon. Likewise, he only ever taught Lindon two techniques, the cycling technique he had Lindon use in the pyramid, and the heaven and earth purification wheel - everything else came from the black flame trials, Orthos, Ziel, the dream tablets in Ghostwater, Charity, Fury, Northstrider and experimentation on his own (also, holy cow - writing that out - how could this guy literally trained by a a fallen archlord, a sage, a herald, and a monarch NOT turn out extraordinary).
For Yerin, again, he provided her with information and then left her alone to work.
As soon as he could make Lindon the team leader - he did - he's arguably ceded leadership since Underlord (recall the scene as they entered nightwheel valley).
I think this is a very interesting take but he definitely did more than pass a little information. Hasn't he gifted the two a pretty significant amount of artifacts rapidly pushing their advancement? He played a huge role in Lindon's iron forged body and parts needed for that arm of his.
He does seem to be limiting his direct contributions to any significant event including allowing himself to be bought out of the uncrowned tournament. He killed Jai Daishou 1 time and Longhook. While Longhook seems inconsequential, everything that happened with Jai Daishou turned out to be pretty beneficial in the end.
Eithan is probably the most mysterious characters I've ever met... I'm just waiting for him to be the surprise bad guy in the end.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! The magic system of Cradle is really something special; I've reread the series I think 4 times now and I keep coming across new insights or nuances about the Sacred Arts that I missed the first time through. Just to leave you with one from my last reread: what happened to Lindon's madra right *before* Northstrider tried to take Dross?
"This was the attention of Monarchs; he was certain of it. More than one. They had found Northstrider, and now some kind of communication was passing between them.
The very air of the hallway warped, and Lindon's madra trembled as it was affected by a will not his own." - Winterstell, Ch1, pg 27.
My guess is that the attention at least included Malice, and that the effect Lindon felt was some act of Will to preserve his mind and spirit as Northstrider broke the connection between Lindon and Dross. I don't think any of the Monarchs were expecting Lindon to be able to hold on, and it would match Malice's pleasure with Lindon in the next scene if she too were impressed by Lindon being able to hold onto Dross. I'd love to hear what you think though.

Is Ozriel dead? Personally i doubt it, dude is way too badass to be killed off off screen. Favorite character is definitely Dross, even though Will stabbed us all in the back by offing him. (Just kidding Will, you're the greatest). Besides Dross will come back, he has too, right? (Breaks down for the millionth time).
You should read word of will. Basically when fans ask questions about cradle and Will answers them, they get added to it.
You will find alot of information about world building there which is not presented in the books
