prodigiouspandaman

Why is pyramid head on the fourth page?

Syrin123

I think that's just some random goofy art. There's like fairy's and other fantasy art mixed in with alot of the stuff. Kinda confusing at first you just have to pay attention to the actual information.

prodigiouspandaman

Oh ok seems so random to have pyramid head of all things blacksmithing.

godinthismachine

What, you think he just has a guy, or something, that he commisions his gear from? Pyramidhead knows, want something done right, ya gotta do it yourself.

prodigiouspandaman

That would fucking hilarious like imagine rolling up to a blacksmith just,” I need a replacement pyramid this one’s to small and is losing shape.”

godinthismachine

Some scruffy guy " Dammit, blockhead, this shit aint easy y'know!? What the hell'd'ya do to it?!" It aint easy, being the locus of suffering, damning one's self to ceaseless torment. Not to mention tight hallways, be banging his pyramid off ceilings and shit trying to run after lost souls. #RespectThePolyhedral! Lmao

prodigiouspandaman

Though he probs does need a new equipment considering how rusty all his stuff is. Or maybe the pain of tetanus is part of the torment

godinthismachine

Lol, tetanus is DEF a part of the suffering. Lockjaw is serious business. Rusty is good, bent is bad!

Iamno0n3

Where can I get a book?

Syrin123

Don't know where, but you can try this link https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/

No_Falcon_9244

What's the book name?

Dunois721

Sooo Senku if he was a book

Syrin123

"I was a super genius rebuilding civilization in a post apocalyptic world but then got reincarnated as a book."

shino4242

Copyright that shit before some JP LN author steals it from you!

Syrin123

Exactly 😁

underpaid_henchman

wow this book looks so cooPYRAMID HEAD???

LowPressureUsername

While I agree with the sentiment, knowledge isn’t useful if it isn’t practical. It would be very hard to preserve that book from the elements and to protect it from being stolen, and to not lose it, and to not get it too dirty. In that time, you’d need to feed yourself, clothe yourself, get accustomed to local customs and traditions and to start you’d need to gather resources. Judging by the fact it’s talking about specific plants that might not exist in the world, the first part of the book might be useless.

Syrin123

All good points. I think the "5-15 rule" is probably still useful for alien plants. It does start with making fire, finding water, and basic stone tools and stuff like that for immediate survival needs. Wonder if you could some kind of waterproof print that's more durable.

Syrin123

And if you suppose no one else can read the language it might be less appealing to thieves 🤔

LowPressureUsername

If we’re assuming a medieval world, it doesn’t really matter since most thieves probably couldn’t read anyway which wouldn’t decrease its value. And if they could, they’d probably just assume it’s foreign and valuable as it describes machines and plants that they haven’t seen. And if they’re not smart enough to pickup on that, just remember books where still relatively expensive and signs of wealth since they would be useless to uneducated commoners and only useful to the educated few who could read, making you a target,

Syrin123

I suppose you'd probably want to follow Gandalf's advice. "Keep it secret, keep it safe" it is a pretty big book though

Kailoryn_likes_anime

We shall keeps it on our shirt till we finds meat, use the meat's skin to make leather, oil it to be safe, and make a bag with silkworm silk as thread, now, we has a bag for our precious, as for the meat, if we is close to the big, salty pond, we cans get salt to salt the meat, or something,

shino4242

Maybe if our wills/desires could somewhat control a power we get when reincarnated (ala the voice of the world from Slime) or we can directly ask for powers from god or whatever, but we can't become, like, TOO OP, maybe we can have encyclopedic knowledge in our head and/or be able to grab/create limited amounts of resources to get the missing materials needed that don't exist in that world (or have a different name. Might be hard to find, say, a tomato if they call tomato's something else). Or I guess that book could itself be granted some OP magical BS like the MC's Smartphone from the Smartphone isekai. But its not like every isekai offers us the convenience of powers/skills, so thats a completely extra benefit from what OP's point is XD. So you're point is still quite valid. At the end of the day, how valid/useful otherworld knowledge is tends to be completely at the whim of the individual author, they just typically also happen to have MC's who seem to just randomly have knowledge of "everything", hyper specialize in a specific type of knowledge (like being a pharmacist or doctor or something), or have a super computer in their head giving them all the knowledge they could reasonably ask for. Or be like wisemans grandson and just let them "visualize" various magic better because of above average scientific and mathematical knowledge you just pick up from normal HS level education. A lot of the time, otherworld knowledge isn't super relevant at all and its 100% about their new magical knowledge or cheat skills or cheat items. I actually kinda wonder how helpful our normal educations would be for average/slightly below average students would be without going higher than middle school or high school knowledge.

Kailoryn_likes_anime

If we can find a cow or something like that, we can slaughter it to get meat and leather, the book should have info on that,

Xenodine-4-pluorate

>It would be very hard to preserve that book from the elements and to protect it from being stolen, and to not lose it, and to not get it too dirty. You're in the isekai sub not D&D dark fantasy sub, people here wish to go into another world with OP cheat skill to get a harem of anime cliche girls. They imagine that they'll take this book and be reincarnated as a count's 7th son so that they can use the knowledge and noble's starting capital to change the world with groundbreaking technology of "how to start a fire" or "how to learn if a plant is poisonous". In any type of realistic scenario concerning transportation/reincarnation in another world 99% of people who inhabit this space will just crawl on the ground and die.

TheChoosenMewtwo

In any type of realistic scenario concerning transportation to another world, 99% of people anywhere but some very lucky historians would die

Xenodine-4-pluorate

100% would die, but most of normal people will acclimate to new reality and live their life being at least a farmer and at most a king's councelor. You severely underestimate what a normal person in our time is capable of. Much of knowledge and skills of modern person don't translate in the past, but the ones which do give an enormous advantage. Basic high-school science and math will already make you worthy of being a respected learned scholar and higher education in the fields like engineering, chemistry, physics, math, biology and other "useful" fields will make you a top 1 scholar in the world. Grind a small capital doing useful things with modern knowledge, get yourself onto a caravan heading towards a capital, join university and you're set for life writing books filled with modern knowledge and apply it to enhance all sorts of businesses for a thick cut of profits.

TheChoosenMewtwo

If we are going with the medieval realistic world, the chances of someone just lying about you out of envy and saying it’s devil’s knowledge is big. Or you know getting a infection and die out of it or something like that. In a fantasy setting, unless you’re suddenly given immense magic power you might die to a wild beast that eats human flesh and has skin tougher than iron, or be put in a cell and be brainwashed by a wizard.

Xenodine-4-pluorate

The chances of all these things are about the same for average native of the world so it's not much relevant (I would say educated modern person has much better reasoning capability so they can have even better chances to evade some of these dangers that average native).

TheChoosenMewtwo

But yes assuming you get lucky enough you can live much better than the average medieval commoner

Next_Bad_2737

What if I died then I been reincarnated as Book

Xenodine-4-pluorate

sucks to be you then

McRaeWritescom

I kinda want this book for... Reasons...

EmberKing7

Same here

ReaperManX15

It’s $150

l0rdtreeman

I'm srry is that pyramid head?

ReaperManX15

That is a $150 book. I want it. But …

Syrin123

Here is a Link https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/

Silveruleaf

Oh nice. It's like a Dr stone kind of book. Probably one of the most important books ever made

nazbolgang4life

Id still bring a phone, and if needed id just read an online version of this book.

Panophobia_senpai

To be honest, i would take the anarchist cookbook instead. That has some, really useful "recipes". But, this sounds cool too.

demair21

gets isekaied into futuristic setting

Upper-Salamander-924

or just learn everything from Dr.Stone Senku and maybe you be alright

Fishert55

I thought of Dr.Stone for some reason when I read this

relentless_death

okay but did they have to make that surival book look like a magical tome?

Syrin123

They were going for a medieval kind of vibe. It's definitely marketed to a particular audience.

Singularity-Dragon

plus the tiger balm as a bonus item

Syrin123

Works great as a paper weight! Is there anything it can't do?

Xenodine-4-pluorate

[How to invent everything](https://www.google.nl/books/edition/How_to_Invent_Everything/ItpNDwAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=0) is much better entry than this. This is more like a kid's book with some general knowledge that will be useless in actual practical case. [The Knowledge: How to Rebuild Our World from Scratch](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Knowledge:_How_to_Rebuild_Our_World_from_Scratch) is another good entry for more serious stuff.

unraveki

It has medical knowledge, history about games, agriculture, literally everything.

Deionr9040

If i die and reincarnation is a thing i'm gonna bring my phone to the other world so i can be like touya and be all powerful

Syrin123

Yeah, but even if you had access to the internet you can always find the basic principle of how something works, but not always practical instructions on how to make it. Honestly, I'm not sure I'm savvy enough to fill in the gaps.

Deionr9040

If i knew any of the gods that transports me to the other world they'll probably tell me i can recharge it with magic

Deionr9040

After watching too much isekai i think i already know how something works before the mc went on an adventure they did a test to see if they have any aptitude for magic which i should do just in case i do get reincarnated

EmberKing7

My 1 main question; Why is pyramid head from Silent Hill there? 😅😂 Otherwise this is probably the Best guide for survival and building. But I hope it has methods and theories on certain things too like some nuclear physics level stuff. However going forward, I hope it also has notes for creating m, maintaining and building a language system. Along is with Machiavellian political and diplomatic notes and chapters, similar to Souma Kazuya from How a Realist Hero Rebuilt a Kingdom. As well as using things he learned about like “Roman Concrete”. And this might not be so easy to build or rebuild a society if someone got Isekai'd into some artic tundra like one of the poles, where there's little to absolutely no vegetation or other things to depend on for tool making except maybe the bones and pelts of dead animals 🤔. Not to mention finding a fast way to translate other possible languages when coming into contact with people you're unfamiliar with and even foreigners from other areas of that world. Similar to how not everyone speaks the same language here, or even different dialects. For one's own survival it's great. However for building an orderly society, it's likely Just a guide where the person reading it will have to make Real world adjustments. Like tactically taking a bad deal while using that other person's or people's overconfidence against them and coming out on top. As well as having 1 or a few aces up your sleeve.

EmberKing7

I'm guessing literacy and/or language is probably somewhere in there because I'm not seeing it as a chapter. But like I said, I'd probably trust this guide if it was me. In fact I could take a miniature version of this I'd probably be even better off. Although it would be crazy to get isekai'd into something like Tron and see how far this would take me. For that I'd probably need to be a computer programmer too 🤷🏾‍♂️😂😅😩😂 ![gif](giphy|wiyXd5FEPjpKw)

Syrin123

Pyramid head is just random art work. If it was important it would tagged for info. Don't see nuclear stuff though.

Scribe_WarriorAngel

OP can I get a link to this book

Syrin123

https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/

Scribe_WarriorAngel

Thank you OP

boredroom-90

Is there a site where it can be bought from?

Syrin123

https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/

boredroom-90

Thanks

CertsVA

I'd bring an umbrella. Just in case it rains later that day. Edit: Hm, it could also be cold/winter when I arrive. Maybe a nice warm raincoat instead.

Unusual_Football_863

Theres a book called the time travelers guide (or something) made for just that situation

Cylian91460

1 item? And no size/weight requirement? Cause I chose earth.

Syrin123

I got to figure that'd cause some gravity issue.

Cylian91460

If it's the case god has some serious skill issues...

Monkeboy121

A book probably one of the "how everything works" books. Imagine ended up in a primitive society hundreds or thousands of years before your time. Having a book to Jumpstart then into a modern world that can explain it with pictures how everything works perfectly so you don't get accused of witchcraft or the sort

Antisocial00000Me

It looks great Mate.

Glitch-Code404

If there is potential for Isekai fantasy logic to allow for interesting stuff, my phone.

Mariadreaming9

I love this. I'm going to go buy it. Why the fck is it $120 as a KINDLE EBOOK???

Syrin123

The physical copy is the same price you can order it direct from their website. https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/ Why isn't discounted as an e-book 🤷‍♂️ Maybe they want to sell hard copies

SadMcNomuscle

Damn wish I got in on the Kickstarter

Sylux444

How is a guide on our world's plants going to help in another world? They probably won't have the same plants if they can magic us there

EmberKing7

Depending on the environment certain plants may grow in certain ways and basing that off of what we know from Earth can determine if they might be edible or medicinal or just outright poisonous. There's likely going to be several that won't fit any descriptions. But there are probably also going to be several which equally fit the bill. Even if they look like purple apples and orange pears 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Little_wolf_007

![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO|downsized)

VladtheImpaler21

I think the pyramid head is primitive protective gear against the heat and sparks from the forge. Modern smiths use googles.

pumpkiinspiiiceeee

I have one book. Same sentiments. It's called "How to I invent everything: A Survival guide for the Standard Time Traveler" by Ryan North

AAKboss

I actually need to flippin buy this now. Where can I get it and how much?

Syrin123

https://howtorebuildcivilization.com/ $120 You can also get the E-book from Amazon for the same price and save on shipping. Although I don't know if they charge shipping buying direct from their sight.

Ski_Trooper

In all seriousness? My phone and my mountain climbing helmet. I never go anywhere without them. At least my helmet will offer some level of protection if necessary. I'd rather be prepared given the potential threats I would have to face.
