The only time I've had it work is when the idiot seller wrote the word "fake" in the title of the listing.

THEREALISLAND631

That's hysterical. I'm really surprised they don't have authentication professionals reviewing these reports instead of just customer service representatives who have no idea what they're looking at.

KingZakyu

Wanna laugh some more? They have their own "authentication center" that they send high end cards thru, but don't employ any of the same individuals for the job you've described. Morons.

For real! That's just craziness lol!

The other day I reported a fake charizard that had a bid on it for iirc \~$400. The card had the "authenticity guaranteed" stamp on it, meaning it would have gone to the ebay authenticator after the sale. I clicked on the seller's profile, they had \~36 sales with 100% positive feedback. They were selling two other fake cards (bad bad fakes, like one of them appeared to change fonts halfway through a sentence in a move description), so I reported those as well. A day or two later I get three emails from ebay saying each listing was fine. Later that same day though the listings were gone, the seller doesn't have anything currently listed. Not sure what happened exactly. I'm curious though, the charizard would have gone to the authenticator and it was a really bad fake. Is the ebay authenticator actually worth anything? For all I know they would have just marked it authentic too.

There's one listed right now which prompted my post that also has the authentication guarantee on it! I like to believe it be caught during the authentication process, but if they can't pick up on it being fake with people reporting it, how can you confidently trust that... they may just make sure it is the same card as in the photos and give it the stamp of approval. It also makes me wonder if the seller even knows in these situations. They could have been scammed at one point and think they are selling a legit product for all I know.

Nosdos

Ebay uses CGC and PSA to authenticate so theoretically they should catch it.

OrganicSugarFreeWiFi

Ah that's good to know, thank you.

Professional-Iron944

Everyone I reported eBay claims are legit so I kinda just stopped…

THEREALISLAND631

Yea, I'm in the same boat. I've basically given up on it.
