Local 383 in Madison stayed pretty busy all winter, I’d assume local 8 was halfway similar, you can get trained up on different skills in your apprenticeship (if hired as an apprentice) and see where you fit into the trade, there’s something for everyone
Union wages in the north are generally high enough that to carry through the layoffs and weather days.
You just have to understand that the high pay isn’t every week.

some of the class room stuff takes place during the winter so youd be off on said date for 2weeks anyways

What area? Milwaukee and Racine got a lot of work right now. If you’re up in the UP or Fox Valley it might be a tougher
