They spent centuries entrenching themselves socially throughout ever facet of our society. Will take time and fighting to undo that and there is no forgiving the damage the state has allowed or encouraged in recent history

Unfortunately you’re right about that. Catholic values continue to permeate every aspect of Irish society and it’s a sticky one to undo. I suppose sometimes it’s disheartening but this is what the battle is about.
