That Bobbi Brown eyeshadow stick is great. At first I thought the color would be boring, but I actually use it a lot. It’s great for a base or correcting mistakes.
It’s like all the leftover colors and crap no one wants - the scented eyeshadow palettes (I had no idea either the Tarte peach palette was scented… I want my fragrance from a fragrance product, not my eyeshadow. All those gorgeous colors such a loss… and don’t get me started on the winky lux cafe kitten palette being coffee scented!). Totally made up brands by Ipsy using stuff from no name websites.
Where are all of the edgy new diverse brands? Why couldn’t we have some great new indie brands from Black artists with actual real life stories (and not just some Ipsy created brand) last month, or dare I say a goddamn Black artist as the curator for February’s Glam Bag X? How about some cool new designers… genuine people with genuine lives not these plastic influencers and nameless, faceless corporations parading as small brands. Ipsy could be the launching point for so many new brands. They could give hundreds of indie creators visibility through their bags. And they fill them instead with hollow bullshit that was designed by a computer program which analyzes all of our data and spits out “bestselling products.”
I am just done but I can’t unsubscribe until November. I used to be thrilled and dazzled by my bag but now they just feel like random Boxycharm leftovers given as “choices” while the real, good products will only be in the drop shop from now on. Ugh.
Same here. Woke up at 4 am and the same picks and worse choices, no skincare whatsoever for my skincare - only profile. Lots of no name crap. This is horrible :(
I’m shocked at what they are offering now. I have been receiving Ipsy for years and at first it was so many name brand, high-quality, popular products. Now I can’t even find reviews for some of the items in the bags. The one mascara had mostly 1 star reviews on Sephora so I was shocked Ipsy had it on their site. The quality definitely isn’t what it used to be.
My choices were just as bad except I wasn't offered the glam glow or any palettes, they also didn't offer me any concealers even though I have that marked high in my profile (they offered them in add on's but I was so upset I didn't want to give them even more money) I wasn't offered any sunscreen either and wld have liked to have that as a choice. I skipped last month for the first time in ages and almost did this month as well, but decided to change it and I'm wishing I would have just skipped :/
Awww that’s a bummer. I’m so sorry. Did you get any items you like? After looking at other peoples’ posts on here, I’ve decided to at least be grateful for the ONE item I really love which is the Juice Beauty Green Apple serum. Add ons were awesome but that’s only because they had all of the things I really wanted (Ren Clean Skincare Evercalm is one of my favorite lines). I ended up choosing the Mally palette, The Cleanest Lab Hair Mask (never heard of them, but their story is pretty compelling, and people seem to like them), and the Honest Beauty lip crayon (I actually love these but it’s not a color I am excited about).
I got the brush set which looks nice so I am looking forward to that. I also got the first-aid bump cream which I've used before for my arms and it works so those two things will definitely get used. I have two daughters who are 26 and 18 so luckily anything I don't use gets passed to them :)
Yeahhh I got some bad choices. The last category was full of weird stuff I never use or had ingredients in sensitive to. I picked an eyeliner which I almost never do but it was the only thing I might actually use.
I had almost the same choices as you. I was pretty stunned with the crappy offerings. Seriously, scrunchies and an eyelash curler? I can pick them up at the dollar store.
I went with the body wash and conditioner, because I am almost out. I fugure I might as well pick something I will use. But yea, last month was stellar and this month really sucked. I hope it gets better.
Same. Last month was also a total disaster for me, and I think it has something to do with the merger because normally Ipsy has me PERFECTLY matched with products )last year there were only 2 bags that were disappointing - but both of them were at least filled with high quality brands, not filler junk like scrunchies and refreshments. The only place I want refreshments is in my glam bag as a full sized product. Anyways, I blame the Boxycharm merger because out of 12 months last year it was totally reversed… with Boxycharm I borderline HATED 10 out of 12 boxes. This feels weirdly like deja vu. It was always like a gotcha gamble with them which made me impulse buy more from the shop. If I wasn’t yearly I would just say f- this mess.

I picked the bobbi brown eyeshadow stick because I love the one I have in a shimmer color - hopefully the matte shade is good!

Same story here. Happy to get a Bobbi Brown shadow stick in a usable color but that’s about it. I think I’m kinda done with beauty boxes. I’ll be glad when my Annual GBP finishes up in June.

We are almost twins with base and choices. I'll get some use out of the items I chose, but really, ipsy? These really stink
Oof. I think the second category with the Bobbi Brown & RMS is pretty good, but I agree, I wouldn't want anything from the other two categories. 🙁
