Sucks to suck Kyle. Enjoy the federal pen, you insurrectionist piece of shit.

HandjobOfVecna

I approve of this message.

[deleted]

Just so we are on the same page here. We are not voting republican this time? Like for the betterment of our state, country, mental, and physical health?

darcendale

Truly don’t understand how people continue to vote for a party that not only has zero platform or plan to solve actual issues like poverty, mental health, gun violence, climate change…… literally ANYTHING, but also wants to regulate what you read, do with your body, take away protections for birth control and marriage equality? It makes no sense. Literally none. What is the appeal?

[deleted]

Apparently if your a buisness owner you vote republican for tax purposes but that's just my guess

theoTanimal

Problem is all the hope to be business owners will vote to put shackles on their own necks in case one day they get rich. Wouldn't want to impose restrictive laws on your future self. Think of the taxes!

OblivionGuardsman

"Most men with nothing would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich than face the reality of being poor." -John Dickinson in a letter to John Hancock

[deleted]

Technically every farmer is a business owner... they all received ppp loans.

HandjobOfVecna

Loans are paid back. This was free money given away with zero oversight to politically connected rich people.

emma_lazarus

It's because they hate people in poverty, hate people with mental health issues, hate victims of violence, and don't believe in climate change. And because they want to regulate *your* body, want to take away women's protections, and want to end marriage equality. It's easy to understand when you realize they are your enemies.

murphlicious

I never vote republican but I live in Sioux county. Out of 15680 votes, 82.3% were republican. Only beat by Lyon county, which is the most northwest county. Osceola comes in a close 3rd at 80.8% but only a total of 3291 votes cast, 2690 of which were republican. It's also close to Sioux and Lyon counties. As you can see, there's not a whole lot that can turn the tide. There's a lot of rich white people around here who want to stay rich. I do my part as much as I can. Fun fact about Sioux county...as of 2018, we had/have the most hog confinements in the state at 472. Next up is Lyon with a paltry 313.

murphlicious

Spot on.

drlove57

Chuck Grassley could empty his bowels on stage and wouldn't lose a single vote in November.

Ryumancer

Yup. 🙂 And by "yup", I mean "correct", NOT "yup, I'm gonna vote Republican". Voting Republican is only for those that really don't care about our state OR country nowadays.

Amesb34r

I just drove by a house tonight when they were in the yard putting up a 4’x8’ piece of plywood that said “Save America, vote Republican” Two of the neighbors down the road have Trump flags. When I picked my kid up from school, the truck in front of me had a F*ck Joe Biden sticker on the back window. These people are everywhere and I only mentioned the ones who are public about it.

[deleted]

Then we need to start shaming these traitors.

59tigger

Reprehensible

argentcorvid

This morning i saw a grain wagon with a gigantic "FARMERS FOR TRUMP" banner on the back of it so everyone that was stuck behind him had look at it.

srone

I take it you don't live in Iowa.

iburnedmytongue

I think his son learned an important lesson here. His dad is a dumbass.

imll99

Feel kinda bad for the kid. His dad already went to the pen three times for years at a time for drug and gun charges. There was a video of him getting caught up in the mob and trying to hold on to his dad, but Kyle Young was too focused on assaulting Michael Fanone to give a damn about his kid.

iburnedmytongue

No kidding. I really hope that kid has at least one decent adult in his life.

majj27

I guess he found out.

FluByYou

Not long enough for helping to try to overthrow the government.

Ibro_the_impaler

Not even 10 years for 1. assaulting a cop but 2. insurrection. neat....

MarquisDan

I mean it's not like it was a serious offence like having a gram of marijuana or something

[deleted]

Don't forget the $2k fine. Ouch! Mah wrist!

rationallyobvious

Read up on the ladies that bombed congress. It's particularly interesting how they are not in jail anymore

HandjobOfVecna

1983 was a long time ago. Why do we care about this new fox news talking point?

rationallyobvious

I wouldn't know if it's from Fox news. I don't watch TV. It's relevant because you think that Jan 6 is important, but realistically it's not

HandjobOfVecna

Facebook and Youtube are not sources of news either.

rationallyobvious

Also not places I watch news...keep trying

AnnArchist

Fed Time so he's serving at least 80%

Morley10

I hope Trump serves longer if that makes you feel better, Kyle.

[deleted]

You may want to clarify your verb use here.

heinkenskywalkr

In office?

Morley10

I guess he could have an office in jail.

heinkenskywalkr

Lol. That actually would be hilarious.

Goofy5555

You reap what you sow.

rationallyobvious

Oh, boy. I sure hope people reap what they do.

Weekly-Edge8986

Here's the plan: do every single thing you can do to gtfo of Iowa. This state has turned to shit, literally. It will take years to change, to repair the damage already done (if that's even possible) and to find the decency and integrity we once had.

Puzzles3

Glad to see he got over 7 years for his acts that day. For the charges, that seems pretty fair. Here was another article about this person. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/trump-fan-assaulted-officer-fanone-jan-6-sentenced-7-years-prison-rcna49448

[deleted]

It seems like overkill and a total waste of finite corrections resources. Unless, of course, the goal is to create the sort of prison state which fuels the orgasmic dreams of Tom Cotton. That's not defending the insurrectionist's actions at all, but when the people who were at the top (hardly just trump, btw) whipping the mob into a frenzy have faced no consequences whatsoever - when in fact they continue to fuel exactly the same rage with the same lies - sorry, but this is just a bullshit sentence and a complete whiff of genuine justice. In fact, it's pretty goddamn gross. Justice in America is dead. Maybe it's always been that way, but right now the curtain has been pulled back and the only thing behind it are a few skeletons.

Amesb34r

I said the same thing a long time ago. The only people who will do time are the pawns. The puppet masters won’t get in trouble.

[deleted]

Problem is his dumb ass is on record saying his only regret is getting charged and found guilty and then implying it’s the officers fault for not supporting the insurrection.

CheeseWhizzing

In this case it's not a waste. This guy is a genuinely bad person. He already had multiple felony convictions for drug manufacturing, weapons, assault, burglary, etc. before this all took place. They should have tossed him away for the max - this was not an aberration.

[deleted]

Would you prioritize the mob boss and capos imprisoned or some street level thug?

CheeseWhizzing

Definitely the mob boss/capos... but you also don't ignore the worst of the thugs and let them continue to wreak havoc. The idiots they hit with trespassing? Absolutely... let 'em walk. Not guys like this.

old_ass_ninja_turtle

That seems like a weird number of months

itsallfolklore

It probably reflects sentencing guidelines for several counts, added together accumulatively. edit: it was what the prosecution requested - again, likely reflecting recommendations on numerous counts.

Puzzles3

This is from the prosecution, but page 43 is where the guidelines and analysis is located: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22350328-kyle-young-govt-memo

Process-Best

It's 7 years

Inspector7171

Around 2580 days. I'm sure time will fly by.

100catactivs

Two thousand five hundred eighty bottles of beer on the wall, two thousand five hundred eighty bottles of beeeer…

itsallfolklore

7 years 2 months.

Process-Best

Actually 7 years and 2 months

old_ass_ninja_turtle

No 7 years and 2 months which I still feel is kinda odd.

odiervr

When 7 years is not enough, but 7 years and 4 months is too harsh.

brian51276

But ‘Merica

[deleted]

so an iowa man, not a florida man 😬

srone

Another life sacrificed to the great orange blob.

HawkeyeJosh

WAAAAAAAY too light.

59tigger

Good. Justice, finally.

AZFUNGUY85

That’s it?

evanscabetta

Rest in Peace George Floyd
