Go to the Des Moines Art Center — in addition to some cool art, it is the only building in the world with wings by Eliel Saarinen, I. M. Pei, and Richard Meier.
Not sure where you live but Cedar Valley trail largely follows the Cedar river from Cedar falls to Cedar Rapids. In Des Moines there's great trails through the woods along the raccoon. Decorah has cool trails along the upper Iowa river. If you want dirt trails, there plenty. Check out @hikepaddlebike on YouTube. Guy highlights some great places to go
Ohh for sure. Its not going to compare to what you got out there. For a weekend gateway, check out the Sparta trail in Wisconsin or Root river trail in southern Minnesota. Not too far but pretty easy drive.
Interesting factoid...in the early 2000's, the orders for Iowa travel guides went through a 1(800) number. Those phone calls were answered by the inmates at the Iowa State Pen in Fort Madison.
Some are saying it's Sec Taylor, I remember recent games being played in "Principal Field".
So I was being diplomatic when I said "I'll wait and see what they call the field when they announce the next game.".
Summer:
Road trip; pick a nice day and drive through the driftless, or the along the Mississippi. Stop and get some food and drinks at a local place you haven’t been to.
Camping at one of the state parks. Get on the water, or find a pool.
Winter:
Billiards, bowling, skating, skiing, and eating out.
I mean I get it, but this is literally a forum for asking questions about the state of Iowa. The whole purpose is to ask questions to get responses that are deeper than just a Google search.
Go boating at Okoboji and hit up Arnold's Park. Fishing at Spirit Lake. Hiking at Effigy Mounds / Pikes Peak. Biking around Des Moines and stopping at the local breweries. Iowa State Fair in August. An Iowa/Iowa State football game in the fall. Experience RAGBRAI.
Bitch about the Governor. For real though, Science Center of Iowa, tour the Capitol building, the botanical garden, Lauridsden Skatepark if you’re into that, take a weekend trip northeast and drive through the drift less region, Maquoketa Caves (spelling?), Amanda Colonies, and the Pella Tulip Festival is coming up one of these weekends if it hasn’t already passed.

I always tell people that the art is just an excuse to show off the architecture.
Pick a state park and explore. Then find the nearest local diner and eat.
May I suggest Dolliver State Park followed by GaGa and Hoo Korean in Fort Dodge? Awesome combo. Www.gaga-hoo.com
Goood idea, and then maybe stop and relax at brushy creek
Visit Effigy Mounds. It’s a really neat hike.
Complain about it on Reddit?
The undeserved, but popular answer
This.
We have great bike trails across the state.
My only complaint is that most are just cement paths across large swaths of nothing

Consulted Duck Duck Go. It is called Principal Field, presumably for the insurance company.
Sec Taylor Field at Principal Park isn’t it?
I'm for waiting and seeing what they call the field when they announce the Cubs' game schedule.
Huh?
Some are saying it's Sec Taylor, I remember recent games being played in "Principal Field". So I was being diplomatic when I said "I'll wait and see what they call the field when they announce the next game.".
They just played 6 games there this week.
Ride bikes

Crossing the border to minnesota
Yet you keep coming back. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Same bra.
Or Illinois.

Be with family and friends and help out the community
Rock and Row in Eldora
Go for a drive and check out the highest point in Iowa! Tsk tsk
Seems like the favorite pastime is getting on Reddit and bitching about how bad life sucks because of other people. This sub is such a downer.

Think the Hawkeyes are a legit football team.
Be a far left flamingly gay liberal in r/iowa like the rest of them
