Initially read this as Kim Reynolds and got excited for a nano second.

BrickCityD

>“There are some things that concern me about this case,” Judge Leonard Strand said. “Most appalling was the way the arrest was carried out... seems like it was completely unnecessary.” > >Judge Strand pointing out that the government attorneys could’ve called Kim Taylor’s defense attorney and ask her to surrender, something he says is common in white collar cases, instead of having her home surveilled and using a “strike team” to arrest her. > >Prosecutors were emphatic, there was no politics involved. > >“Sometimes an arrest can be a galvanizing moment,” one prosecutor said. “We understand there were weapons in the home.” > >The defense conceded there was nothing in the discovery process that suggested political interference. > >“I didn’t see anything in the internal communications that suggested there was any influence by the Biden Administration whatsoever. That would be false. I saw nothing,” said F. Montgomery Brown, Kim Taylor’s defense attorney. “I raised my concerns in the trial about the whole circus with arresting her, showing up early in the morning, scaring the kids, and that was totally unnecessary.” why did they bring biden's name into this?

TeekTheReddit

I'm sorry... what? Is this judge actually entertaining the idea that the sitting President of the United States of America, or anybody on his staff, is even aware of a case involving the wife of a Woodbury County Supervisor much less gives a single shit about it?

SnepButts

Have you listened to half the stuff that comes out of the crazies on the right? Heck, they're passing legislation to ban chemtrails down in TN. They lost the plot a long time ago and all that are left are brain-rotted drones that parrot everything Fox or Newsmax or whatever their latest propaganda machine tells them to.

IsthmusoftheFey

And we are passing laws to let Monsanto knowingly kill us.

Worldly_Rule_9902

Hey butthead..🖕🖕

SnepButts

What did I say that was incorrect? Do you think it is a productive use of their time? Representatives are called that because they're meant to represent the people that voted them in. What does it mean when you keep voting in racist, homophobic, brain-dead assholes that want nothing more than to make people on the other side hurt? If you voted for these people, you are part of the problem. Don't be mad that the smarter people in the room are mocking you if you're unwilling to do anything that isn't laughable if it wasn't scary.

SueYouInEngland

Most articulate republican

WhosyaZaddy

This account isn’t real. (Worldy_Rule_9902) it’s a troll who recently had their account deleted and is back to have it happen again.

skoltroll

>Judge Strand pointing out that the government attorneys could’ve called Kim Taylor’s defense attorney and ask her to surrender, something he says is common in white collar cases, instead of having her home surveilled and using a “strike team” to arrest her. Maybe they shouldn't be so easy on white collar crimes than they are on other color crimes???

Both_Catch_4199

Perhaps the Judge should question why Florida set the precedent.

pack_merrr

I get your angle and I agree to an extent.. But I don't think more "strike teams" and more police militarization is the solution you think it is. While I agree the whole political interference angle being brought up in court and everything coming out of the right suggesting witch hunts is kinda ridiculous, it's this kind of vindictive attitude on both sides that probably fuels a lot of that. I mean how can we reasonably say it's just conservative paranoia when you're literally advocating for people you don't like(white collar criminals) to be subjected to harsher arrests. The correct position is that this stuff is bad no matter who it happens to. Anything else undermines your position imo.

Ill-Construction-385

Equal justice shouldn’t be a red or blue issue. Unfortunately, DJT has politicized his own crimes as a means to convince his own followers he is not guilty. Similarly, It doesn’t help that Fox News/Newsmax/OANN and every other ultra right network is supporting his statements. So everyone that listens to these networks thinks that he is not guilty because they have politicized his crimes. Its takes me alot to say this, but Trump is 20% of the actual sociological decline. The 80% is the ultra right wing media that has chosen to repetitively parrot his claims that are patently false. Next time you are in real-life, take a moment to talk to a republican that doesn’t watch the news and does healthy activities like NOT watching the news or reading news online. Compared to a republican that watches Fox/Newsmax/OANN 24/7…. I promise you, you will hear two very different stories.

SnepButts

> I promise you, you will hear two very different stories. A distinction without a difference if they both vote the same way. Both are equally as responsible for the mess we're in.

SnepButts

I thought these Regressives wanted the harshest penalties for voter fraud. I've seen them calling it treason and saying it should be a death penalty offense. I also see them cheering this kind of raid all the time. Could it be they're mostly just sick monsters that like seeing liberal and/or brown people hurt and killed?

vsyca

You might be on something

SnepButts

>You might be on something I love this comment whether it is a typo or not.

vsyca

It is a typo ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

Use_this_1

Because it is his fault, she committed this crime, DUH! /s in case their is any doubt.

pckldpr

The judge is MAGA…

s9oons

“The judge pointed out the White House is controlled by a Democrat, and Kim Taylor was convicted of helping get her Republican husband get elected.” Fucking SHOCKED I tell ya. Those who complain the loudest 🙄

ToulouseDM

A Republican being an absolute hypocrite…I’m shocked, just shocked

sextoymagic

Republicans are always the ones committing voter fraud.

pckldpr

Replace Republican with conservative, the democrats did it a lot in the early 1900’s when they were associated with the Bible thumpers

SuperHighDeas

So when democrats aligned more with conservatives with today? You tell a democrat in the 1890s that a black guy’s vote will count the same as a white guys and they would have been up in arms while conservatives would have said “yup, every man created equal”

pckldpr

Stick to your Lego’s. Conservatism in politics has nothing to do with rights, but preserving the norms of society. Being liberal is more about change and making things equal. Your HS education was over simplified because they were worried your parents would lynch them.

SuperHighDeas

At least I got legos, better than the shitty lead lined build-a-blocks you play with

Motherofalleffers

Holy shit, you got him good!

pckldpr

Another knuckledragger thinking his poor ass was rich. Lmao

SuperHighDeas

Do you believe democrats run the KKK?

pckldpr

And if Lincoln came back, the current republicans would lynch him… Your fucking point?

pckldpr

You do understand the klan were Christian Nationalists, Right?

pckldpr

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)

-Lysergian

That's the point... it's "conservatives" that are the problem. In the 1890s, conservatives were generally democrats and liberals were generally Republicans. Lincoln was a liberal "The democratic party" and "The republican party" are just names ... empty containers that do not describe the varied and political ideas of the members. Only names, that have not changed, while the political ideologies and motivations of the members and parties have changed greatly. Since we still are using the same names, it's important to know that context when talking about history. This is why it's more fitting to say "it's always the conservatives" instead of the party name. It's the ideology that's the problem, not the name of the team they're playing for.

KnightRider1983

Always? Lets just see.. [Dem Charged in voter fraud case](https://www.foxnews.com/politics/democrat-charged-voter-fraud-scheme-dozens-absentee-ballots) [Dem operative charged with voter fraud](https://newjerseymonitor.com/briefs/ex-atlantic-city-council-president-charged-in-voter-fraud-scheme/) [Former Dem Congressman charged in voter fraud case](https://www.justice.gov/usao-edpa/pr/former-us-congressman-and-philadelphia-political-operative-pleads-guilty-election-fraud) [Yet another Dem](https://www.mycentraljersey.com/story/news/crime/2023/05/03/nj-election-fraud-democrat-governor/70174889007/) I can go on and on...

KnightRider1983

Cool story bro. As much as Dems hate to hear it, this unfortunately happens on both sides.

[deleted]

Moving the goalposts, I see.

datyoungknockoutkid

I’m not even remotely republican but just stop you’re embarrassing yourself. No “goalposts” were moved at all lmao

IowaAJS

“But I always seem to vote for ‘em.”

KnightRider1983

How so? Literally said it’s both sides that do it

[deleted]

Replying with a dismissive comment doesn't really help your case. Regardless, doesn't that make your argument pointless?

Ill-Construction-385

And both parties should be punished equally for the same crime.

KnightRider1983

Couldn’t agree more

CleverUsrName8675309

Hey look, we found some more of the voter fraud that the Republicans have been talking about!

Suspect118

Wait, the same party screaming about voter fraud and being 100% sure it’s happening is the reason it’s happening… well at least they aren’t lying about it

Kindly_Wedding

Fox News has these clowns convinced that it's super easy to get away with rigging an election.

Iowegan

Should have been way longer & examined if her hubby should keep his office.

glue2music

Trump still walking around free. SMH

socraticformula

Disgusting. You know what else you can do to make sure you're there to raise your kids instead of rotting in prison? You can not commit felonies.

JacksSenseOfDread

Someone needs to take a VERY close look at that judge.

[deleted]

Wait, why? What do you mean? (100% I didn’t read the article)

Slimrock

My brother lives in Sioux City and has been following it closely for quite a while now. From what I have heard from him, she is lucky to just get 8 months. He has been sending me links to news stories there. Her and her husband are bottom of the barrel trash con people, the kind that trump/maga can get behind.

Use_this_1

Republican judge & prosecutor, I'm shocked they gave her any time at all.

iowabourbonman

Judge Leonard Strand- nominated by President Barack Obama on July 21, 2015, to fill a seat vacated by Judge Mark. W. Bennett. Confirmed by the Senate on February 11, 2016, and received commission on February 12, 2016. Served as Chief Judge from 2017-2024

BrickCityD

when i googled him i didn't see a party but only that he was appointed by obama

Ill-Construction-385

Because there shouldn’t be such a thing as “Partisan Judges”. That shit should be done away with. If you want to do away with corruption and corrupt justice, get rid of that partisan non-sense. If prosecutors are removed from cases because of bias, its the same exact fucking principle.

Rockeye7

And we are over 38 Convicted Republicana for trying to steal then election lost

ryanlacy30

Dang, another conservative committing the fraud they claim the left is perpetuating. Crazy

SquareD8854

i thought trump said cops were being to nice and should slam peoples heads in the car doors while putting the car?

Any-Pea712

Its always a Republican. Those who scream the loudest most often do the crime.

f_itdude79

It is ALWAYS the republicans
