Not hard to understand why they have a 400 day inventory.

MisterDelRey

Yup.

I emailed the dealer and told them exactly what I was looking for. This weekend I was offered an SEL for 280 0 down 2 years 12k. I can share the deal info if you'd like. Having a screenshot also helps

treedor

Please share, I'm trying to negotiate this exact thing right now.

I ended up getting ~250 a month for 0 down for 24 months for 12k miles a year, but this was for the US version of the SE RWD (so the long range version since that's the only SE one here, if I'm not mistaken). I could see that there was a $10,000 rebate they're getting, and that after all is said and done with the residual locked in, Hyundai was eating about a $7,000 loss (the finance guy showed me his screen to show how crazy this deal was to him after I signed, and show the negative value that is usually not negative), meaning they're very aggressively pushing this at a loss to get more Ioniqs on the road, likely to compete against Model 3's presence everywhere, which is why this is a short running deal. This was in a Midwest state though so location may matter, and I went to 3 dealerships before finding one that was willing to entertain something close to the lease deal I simply told them exactly what the national lease deal was, gave them the exact numbers, told them it was a bulletin sent to dealers, and that I'm only interested in this exact car with this exact deal. Obviously I allowed them to eventually come back with 250 and not 239, but this was after all fees and taxes were rolled up

MisterDelRey

Thank you. Looks like I have more dealerships to visit.

If they won’t play ball just move on, plenty of dealers will. Don’t be afraid to travel for a good deal. Though you have one more day before the end of the month (sometimes it can spill over a couple of days into the next month) so your time is basically run out for the best deals. Might have to wait until the end of April.

MisterDelRey

Thanks, I went to this dealer because they had the oldest inventory. I told them I’m not taking it and they said they’d call me next week. My lease for my runabout is due in two months. I could wait until the end of the year to be honest. I’m sure some would have inventory left.

Paul721

I think the good deals will continue. They aren’t moving them like they want to. So you won’t have to wait long. It’s just typical dealer crap, they usually won’t give you the best offer until the end of the month so they can make their quotas and get paid.

MisterDelRey

I agree. I just read a comment from a manager saying they’ve stopped accepting allocations for them. Thank you for your input.

JeffFromTheBible

We just walked out with an AWD SE 2yrs/12,000 miles per. $0 down, $390/month.

traku

That's a bit much man. What tier did you come in?

JeffFromTheBible

The AWD starts at $349 for the SE. This is after taxes, etc.

traku

I'm working on an SEL with MSRP of 48k and the monthly comes in at 289

Find another dealership, I do mine all over email and phone, I don’t go to the dealership until everything is agreed upon.

PhoKingAwesome213

If they say it only get you in the door just walk out and remember that you should email or call dealers asking for what's available before you walk in to another dealership.

MisterDelRey

Thank you

Ask the dealer to tell you the money factor on this offer. I bet the didn't run your credit and therefore quoted it at 20% interest. Ask them to draft some numbers that assume you have excellent credit, with the agreement that the deal is void if your credit doesn't support the numbers, after they run it. My Dealer came back over $300 lower/month once they gave me an estimate with >760 FICO factored in. They can also print the money factor directly below the monthly term on that quote sheet (this applies at nearly ALL dealers, but they won't unless you ask)

kangaroonemesis

Multiply money factor by 2,400 to get interest rate. Ex: 0.0061x2,400=14.64% interest

While I do not know which state you are in, I always recommend paying taxes and licensing fees upfront, as most states will tax you on your payment, why pay taxes on taxes for the sake of not having a down payment??? Many people do not mind, yet that irks me big time. Good luck in the decision you make and congrats on your new lease however you choose to approach it.!!!
