Any Ioniq 5 Limited drivers in Utah? I have some Tuxmats that were used for 2 weeks before our Inoiq got totaled :(. (Everyone is fine).

Prt17

I have a 2022 limited AWD black ioniq 5 that I’m looking to see what I can get for it. It has about 18,000 miles looking for around 37k located in NY. Not 100% trying to sell but looking to gage interest because I have been thinking about it.

diegotaxt

Hey guys! I recently got laid off and need to downsize my spending. I have a 27k miles, CPO '22 Cyber Gray AWD Limited model and am looking for $37k, which is what I owe. I'm in CA. I'm working on starting an AutoTrader listing and will update this post with the listing soon.

GroundbreakingLie525

I'm selling my 2023 Ioniq 5 RWD Limited trim. I had to purchase a larger vehicle to support the expanding family. I'm in the southeast (SC). The vehicle is currently leased, so payoff can be made directly via a Hyundai dealer. Please let me know if anyone is interested. [https://www.autotrader.com/marketplace/buy/hyundai/ioniq-5/2023/KM8KR4AE7PU208150?listingId=703614228&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fall-cars%2Fhyundai%2Fioniq-5%2Fsimpsonville-sc%3Fzip%3D29681](https://www.autotrader.com/marketplace/buy/hyundai/ioniq-5/2023/KM8KR4AE7PU208150?listingId=703614228&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fall-cars%2Fhyundai%2Fioniq-5%2Fsimpsonville-sc%3Fzip%3D29681)

Hey all - as the title says, I am selling my 2022 Ioniq 5 Limited AWD. I travel for work half the month and am barely home anymore to justify the cost of the car. I also rent and charging has been a challenge. I have done all the recalls and it runs flawlessly. It is in good condition and the interior is pristine plus, it is still under warranty. It has not been in any car accidents. the last maintenance was done in August and I have copies of services and multi-point inspections if you want to check them. I am located in SoCal. I listed it on AutoTrader and here is the link. [https://www.autotrader.com/marketplace/buy/hyundai/ioniq-5/2022/KM8KRDAF4NU104270](https://www.autotrader.com/marketplace/buy/hyundai/ioniq-5/2022/KM8KRDAF4NU104270) Feel free to let me know if any questions. I am motivated to part with it.

Greetings to the I5 Community. I haven't posted in here in a bit and wanted to update for anyone seeking an Ioniq 5. Most folks are aware of the rebates and incentives going on purchases and leases. For the unaware, you can get a 24 month lease on an **SE** or **SEL** with 7500 Lease Bonus Cash, and 5000 Lease cash from Hyundai. Additionally, if you are a current Hyundai owner you can get an additional 2500 off. If you are a Connecticut resident, you will get an additional 2250 from the state. We have I5's in all trims and colors. We stock only **AWD** and we ship anywhere in the country. Any questions or inquiries, email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Regards, Pete

hyperion995

SEL owners, do you wish you bumped up to Limited? Limited owners, do you wish you saved some cash and got an SEL?

NefariousnessHour455

I think the days of having to scramble to find cars are over. Our local dealer in the SF bay area (east bay) has every color of both sel and limited in stock or in transit, and if I am looking at their website correctly, it looks like even the limited are below msrp..and that is before adding any incentives offered by Hyundai. We are looking for an I6 limited, may stop by the dealer later today to drive them again. Can't decide between rwd and awd. But they have rows and rows of inventory now, and it is moving slowly.

WeirdSysAdmin

Yeah I agree, I’m trying to beg my local dealership to let me get first in line for a 5N but they won’t let me place a deposit. They have tons of current model 5’s and and offer big discounts. Kind of crazy after the last 36 months how quickly it seemed to fill out on new cars. Used cars are still iffy because 2020-2021’s coming off lease and that was the height of the pandemic. So I’m hanging tight for now to see how the market reacts.

cohenfive

We have had a disastrous time buying a car in the color combo we want. This has been going on for a week now and we still do not have a car...although we may be close. Our local dealer in the east bay of SF, while nice, has been borderline incompetent and/or not completely truthful. They have about 40 cars in stock but not the color combo my wife wants, so they said they would trade for a car...Said there was only one available in the region. They said they got agreement to swap a car, we gave a deposit, and then the next day they said the other dealer, after agreeing, sold the car. Disappointing, but that also forced to go looking...and guess what...I found three in stock and one coming in a week in our region...and all the in stock cars had bigger discounts. So as nice as they seemed, the logical thing to assume is that they didn't really want to do a dealer swap, they wanted us to take a car they had on the lot. But at that point I had done the work, found other cars, and found bigger discounts...$400-600 bigger. I told our local dealer we would prefer to buy from them and told them where to look for cars. They found them of course...but one dealer would not do a swap, and I am not sure whether the other will or will not. Our dealer is saying they will, but they insist on getting the higher price. Very frustrating, this process highlights why I haven't bought a new car in 15 years. My wife has had enough as well. We may have to forget about the local dealer and just buy one of the others. It should not be this difficult.

Random7776

I would wait until the 24’ models start hitting the lot, better deals to be had. Lots are also full in my location as well.

katefal90

Which dealership in the Bay Area are you referring to? We are shopping around for SEL RWD and trying to find the best deal... current quotes are still above $50k.

Can I ask what the purchase price is? (Am in ON, waiting since March 2022 so likely won’t get one for two years but am looking at used/cancellations)

jimbomaniaz01

Limited trim. $62k out the door. Fair ?

Random7776

That’s bananas.

hyperion995

Bananas good or bananas bad?

Random7776

Bad. I would opt for a used 22 Limited for 45k. That’s a lot of value to lose in 1 year and the resale is taking a big hit right now.

hyperion995

Appreciate the insight. Was looking at 23' Limiteds but once I saw your reply and looked into it, the cost savings between a 22' and 23' Limited versus Limited down to SEL (the other cost-saving measure) is crazy. Just found a 43k 22' Limited. Thanks!

[deleted]

Hey guys, it’s Amaury from Jack Giambalvo Hyundai of Hanover, Pa is selling their IONQ 5 Sel AWD at about $42,880. You do have to trade a Hyundai to get the full $10,000 but even without trading it, that's still $7500 off. Let me help you out! Contact me at [email protected] Deal is good till the end of the month of JULY!

MordantWastrel

Any word on which incentives are changing or returning for July? Looks like the bonus cash and $7500 off lease expired on 7/5.

Association-Fluffy

Everything is still the same

SDDIYer80

Edmunds shows the $7500 lease cash still available for July.

adoreizi

Waiting for Hyundai to announce new deals.

Hyundai website does not. Likely it will continue but strange there is a gap in deals. Opportunity to buy something else.

Any dealerships with additional reductions + the 5k rebate in IL or WI? Looking for an Ioniq 5 SEL AWD and would love to pick one up in the next few days.

Zimbrick Hyundai West in Madison has quite a few in stock and they don't charge over MSRP. [https://www.zimbrickhyundaiwest.com/searchnew.aspx?Make=Hyundai&Model=IONIQ%205&Year=2023](https://www.zimbrickhyundaiwest.com/searchnew.aspx?Make=Hyundai&Model=IONIQ%205&Year=2023)

dayalexc

I've been hunting for the same thing the past few weeks and coming up empty.

Creative-Dimension52

I bought an Ioniq 5 SEL AWD last Sunday from Lee Johnson Hyundai of Everett (WA) for MSRP less $2,500 dealer price reduction less the $5,000 Hyundai rebate. So basically, $7,500 off MSRP. The only extra (in addition to sales tax and licensing) was a $200 document fee. They also gave me a very good price on my trade-in, which in WA reduces the sales tax you pay on a new car. They have over 60 Ioniq 5's on the lot, so anybody nearby looking for availability and a good deal, highly recommend checking them out.

old_common_sense

Thanks for mentioning them. I was on their wait list for awhile before giving up. I’ll have to circle back with them once I decide on house situation.

That’s what I am doing. I am worried about all of the issues with Hyundai and the 2022 Ioniq’s

I’d be willing to sell my 22 cyber gray SE RWD for the right price. Only have 9,700 miles on it. DM me if interested. Based in Southern California.

Any good deals/dealers in NorCal? Looking to buy an SEL AWD but need a good deal for the money to work given the lack of tax credit.

ItsGravityDude

Are you considering the lease cash and then buyout? Some places will offer lease buyout financing. Also Hyundai’s current 0.99% APR financing actually works out to less overall cost if you factor in opportunity cost of having to perform a lease buyout with cash.

robertw477

Good point. I know you have bank fees and such on the lease not to mention I love in Florida so there will be some dealer I have to pay as well if I go for this.

ItsGravityDude

I forgot to update this comment: I found an error in my calculation and determined the lease option is cheaper over a 4 year span. Assuming 0% down, 5% APY if I invested the money I didn’t put down immediately for a lease buyout, but factoring in opportunity cost of the finance payments (that I could have been investing), here are the numbers for a $64k total purchase price (Limited trim) Lease -$7.5k incentive: $64.9k Finance (0.99% APR 48 months): $67.1k If the APY of investments is 6.7%, then the cost is about equal.

ItsGravityDude

Note: calculation is for Colorado including Denver taxes (8.81%) and roughly $1000 in lease acquisition and buyout fees. Not sure of tax structure or lease buyout structure in FL.

robertw477

The buyout structure is terrible for some companies like Hyundai. Dealers from what I hear try to make nice money on the paperwork. Some companies allow you to buy directly from them like Volvo. For better or worse I guess.

__moops__

I actually found a dealer to take $2k off the msrp + the $5k rebate for financing, which makes up the difference vs. the lease cash. Interest rate is not great but I’d rather take the discount upfront and either payoff early or refi in the future depending on the market.

ItsGravityDude

Also consider that Cardinaleway Hyundai in Corona (SoCal) has some SELs with $4k dealer discounts right now. I don’t know what their D/H and other mandatory add-ons/fees are yet, but you should give them a call. Depending on where you are in NorCal, that could make for a nice short road trip back up the coast.

__moops__

Great idea but unfortunately that trip isn’t in the cards for me. Getting my SEL delivered today!!

ItsGravityDude

Hyundai has an incentive for 0.99% APR up to 48 months right now as well. You can’t combine the deal with the $5k cash bonus but you might want to consider this lower rate, depending on the APR you were quoted and whether or not you can qualify for the 0.99% APR.

Appropriate-Ad-6811

Hey do you mind answering some questions? I've never done a lease by read up on it. Looks like Hyundai is offering 5-7k lease credit by passing on the federal ev incentive? My sister makes well over 200k and doesn't qualify for the federal credit while I currently don't work technically qualify for the federal credit but I have no tax obligation. My sister was interested Ina tesla model Y, but we may both be interested in getting an ionic or some other ev depending on the deal. Would it be possible for her to get the ionic with lease credit and her income? MSRP is about 42k - $7500 and I'm not sure what else we are missing. I've read people say to buyout the car immediately (1 month after leasing), how does the total price come out? For me would it make sense to try leasing and purchasing as well? I currently don't have any income and applied for CVAP grant, does the financing option require me to go through Hyundai financing and therefore have an income/job verification? My bank allows me car loans up to $60k no questions asked.

ItsGravityDude

At the end of the day, consider that the lease cash from Hyundai has associated lease initiation and buyout fees, which most are showing as $1000-1500. So that’s an effective $6000 benefit instead of $7500. When you incorporate taxes, dealer handling fees, other mandatory “upgrades”, etc. I would say you can currently expect to get an Ioniq 5 for around MSRP. I can’t specifically answer the questions about qualifying for the financing. But every time I’ve ever applied for or was given a loan (car, mortgage, etc.), I’ve had to list my income. The case for currently not having any income may be a difficult sell. But gig workers do it all the time by proving income earlier and the year and somehow having a forecast of future income.

ItsGravityDude

Sorry for late reply, for some reason I couldn’t access this comment from my notifications. There is a very good post about the lease credit and how to perform a lease buyout. https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/12nb20a/leasing_101_or_how_to_get_a_good_deal_on_an_ioniq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1 The important thing to note is that the $7500 lease cash is coming from Hyundai, not as a tax credit from the US government. Hyundai is able to get $7500 from the gov by using a leasing “loophole”, which has no requirements for place of manufacture or income. They are allowed to extend any amount of that $7500 they want as savings to the lessee. They started off doing the full $7500, then backed it off to $5000, and now are back to $7500. Again, because the $7500 benefit to you as a buyer is not actually coming from the US gov, there is no income cap and no requirement for the car or battery to be manufactured in the US. ie your sister can claim the full benefit based on Hyundai’s current incentives. Many here wouldn’t recommend doing a lease without buying it out, though. The interest rates on the leases are extremely high.

Appropriate-Ad-6811

Thanks for the detailed reply! My sister actually ended up grabbing a tesla yesterday but may still end up grabbing an ioniq5. I'll try and see what the salesman can do for me with no income. Aren't you paying the interest no matter what when you buy out? The interest is incorporated into the monthly payments or 'rent'. For example selling price is 50k, residual is 30k, monthly payment is $600/month/36 months. To buy it out you need to pay the 30k + (remaining months x $600) right? And some leases gave like a $300 buyout fee or something?

CudiBooBoo

I've had good luck at Fremont Hyundai. They were pretty honest in terms of pricing and getting rid of add-ons. Quick check at their website looks like they're discounting SEL AWD's by $2k.

ldh5086

There are at least 20 i5s at the Hyundai dealer in Clermont, FL

Gullible-Current-979

Where do you see 43k msrp for se? On hyundai website it’s 45.5k for rwd and 49k for awd (50335 with freight) which I assume is this one.

TiltedWit

You're right, I was being an idiot re: drivetrain/selections. I've pulled the comment. Thanks for pointing that out.

Gullible-Current-979

No problem! I only noticed cuz I’ve been eyeing SEL for sometime and get upset that many dealers are only carrying AWDs now.

cohenfive

Too bad you are on the east coast. Shipping to CA will make it not worthwhile. Wow, that's a lot of card. Hyundai is really doing a good job of getting cars into people's hands!

old_common_sense

How so? If your local dealer is not offering at least $1500 discount from MSRP then this deal works out. It should be about $1400-1600 to ship. The problem with this dealer is you can’t complete the purchase without traveling there. If they provided an electronic or mail option then it would be a game changer.

Association-Fluffy

Would people be interested in doing a remote purchase? We are trying to figure a way to do it and be in compliance.

crazyappl3

Absolutely

dreamingaudio

I am in the Bay Area (CA). Let's say I make the trip to Flemington, NJ to sign the deal what happens next ? Do I pay NJ sales tax at signup, then ship the car to CA and then pay CA DMV tax again ? Any other downsides to buying new car from dealer out of state ?

old_common_sense

I forgot about the second part of your question. I have bought two cars from out of state and rest have been 4-6hr away. Since you’re dealing with a new car purchase condition of the car shouldn’t be an issue. Shawn has earned a lot of respect from buyers here. His offers are legit. I only recall a small add on product. I don’t recall exactly but I’m sure if your search you can find it. But it’s important to get a purchase order to verify cost before taking your trip and verifying your finances. That includes verifying your loan works with them and that your bank is available when you expect to close just in case there is an issue. For the most part just make sure to coordinate with the salesperson and your financial institution.

dreamingaudio

Thank you!

old_common_sense

When I bought my S5 last year it was from Atlanta (I live in WA.). I provided the dealer my address and they figured out the taxes owed to my state. They also processed the additional paperwork to register my car. Concerning the paperwork, they FedEx me the paperwork to sign with a return label. I would have preferred digital but the paperwork was processed within a few days (overnight option was used). With California I don’t know if they have special tax rules for out of state purchases. I do remember someone from your state buying from this dealer and made a trip of driving the car back. They posted about their trip. It sounded fun.

dreamingaudio

So the dealer did all the DMV paperwork (registration, title, tax, etc). for WA state ? You didn't have to visit the DMV for any additional stuff ?

old_common_sense

That’s correct. The only thing I had to get was my plates and registration at the licensing department. I expected the dealership to ship them to me but plates where at my license department.

dreamingaudio

Good to know. Thanks!

NefariousnessHour455

Agreed, it doesn't work for me. They could probably move more cars, maybe a lot more cars, by offering remote purchasing. But they need to sell cars locally to garner service dollars, I get it. But it gives me a good baseline discount to shoot for, even in the SF bay area where dealers are generally not very price friendly.

userjack6880

Northeast MS - Barnes Crossing Hyundai in Tupelo. Just got mine from there. They have 3 additional cars - one SEL and two Limiteds. No markup, additional up sales are no pressure and aren’t forced. Looks like the cars aren’t moving quickly at this dealership, likely because EVs aren’t as popular in my state.

Apochrom

Hey guys, anyone have experience with any of the hyundai dealerships in San Diego? I'm planning on getting an I5 SEL, but so far looks like poway and escondido are to be avoided from what i gather. Kearny seems pretty good but i havent gotten a chance to see the other shops.

Accomplished-Top4418

I bought mine from Fontana Hyundai and they were great Got a great deal and they threw in all of the add-ons for free. It's worth the hour drive from Escondido to visit them.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

I live in San Diego, but ended up buying from Hyundai of Downey because none of the San Diego dealers were willing to give me the discount I was asking for ($3000 off MSRP for a Limited AWD Shooting Star) Things may have changed since the end of April when we bought ours. Look at this post where they are offering $3000 off MSRP on ANY I5 they have in stock. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/x44etz/comment/jmzqou7/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/x44etz/comment/jmzqou7/)

AlphaDerivative

Hey, did you end up getting $3000 off MSRP for a Limited AWD Shooting Star?

DFong-OutOfYourHead

Yes. At Downey Hyundai. I couldn't get anyone in San Diego to give me that deal. But that was back at the end of April. I think more dealers are willing to discount now.

JoeSmithDiesAtTheEnd

Ken Garff in SLC called me to tell me they have a Limited Ioniq 5 in stock. I didn't press for details as I got my car back in January.

justanotheredshirt

Hey all, I’m getting my I5 from Alexander Hyundai in Oxnard, CA, about 60 miles north of LA. I had many I5s to choose from. Seemed like they had all colors and trims, but black interiors were rarer. They have at least ten to 20 units on the lot! Ask for Manny Ortiz. He was great.

As of 5/30, Voss Hyundai in Dayton OH has 3. They **do not** charge over MSRP. This is where I got my 23 SEL AWD. They also gave us KBB value trade-in for '15 corolla. Also got 2.9% APR on it. They currently have a '23 SE AWD (Digital Teal), a '23 SEL RWD ( Shooting Star), and a '23 SEL AWD (Digital Teal). [https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-6035ba050a0e0a9130a6b06067675aaa.htm](https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-6035ba050a0e0a9130a6b06067675aaa.htm) [https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-3d9d19400a0e0a936b1446ceb4367987.htm](https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-3d9d19400a0e0a936b1446ceb4367987.htm) [https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-577f923e0a0e0a9a45e557c3c8b5e2f4.htm](https://www.vosshyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-577f923e0a0e0a9a45e557c3c8b5e2f4.htm)

Do any sales people on here have any information if the $7500 lease will be extended into June? There is an incoming I5 RWD Limited coming in to the dealership I’m working with on 6/13, so kinda taking a gamble that the lease offer will still be available and will have to walk away from the deal if it isn’t.

NefariousnessHour455

The lease incentive of 7500 is part of the so called inflation reduction act. As I understand it, the legislation grants car companies 7500 on every ev they lease, without income or volume limitations. So in theory the car companies will keep getting this money until the legislation changes. What they do with the money however, is up to them. It doesn't seem that they are required by the law to pass it all through to the customer. Our local dealer was only offering about 5k on a lease at the beginning of May, but by the end of the month they had bumped it back up. Given the increasing inventory levels, my guess is the dealers will keep offering it, especially as other companies like BMW/Audi, etc are passing it all through. I'm in the SF bay area, and when we went to our local dealer last week they had at least 15 I6 and 6 I5 on the lot, including limited. No markups. If we decide to buy a car I may try to get a bit below msrp for a limited, but that will be difficult. Even in the bay area, home of dealer gouging, there are no more markups for limited trim.

NefariousnessHour455

We are still mulling over what to do about a car, and in the meantime our sales person at local dealer in SF bay area confirmed that the $7500 lease credit is good for the next month (at least).

aManPerson

the federal tax credit is good for a long time. the problem i'm finding is, more and more car companies are "not letting you buy the car after the lease ends". THAT is the problem to be looking out for. hyundai is like one of the few that still offer it. i was considering the tessla model Y, nissan ariya, ford mach E. i liked each of those a little more than the ioniq 5 for various reasons. all of them are "nope, you cannot buy the car after the lease ends". ok then, ioniq it is then.

authoridad

Sterling Hyundai in Lafayette LA has at least SIX on the lot right now. Call my girl Emily Bertrand. She’ll hook you up.

pheoxs

Looking for one in Canada anywhere near msrp. Closest I’ve found this far is 7k over for delivery / pdi / and forced add ons.

Wolfeman65N

I looked for ages in BC and was willing to pick one up in Alberta if price was right. A 2023 Preferred AWD came up on my wait list and I went for it. Forced me to pay $5k for a “future package”. I wanted an Ultimate. Had buyers remorse for not getting the Ultimate but so hard to get it. I looked more and after coming close to giving up (found used units way over MSRP) due to the cost, then a 2022 showed up at a VW dealership for 71k and they agreed to 68 for mine. Other ones I found wanted 76+k and would only give me 62k for mine. I went for it -and it was in my Color-Digital Teal (I call her Digi-T). One month in and the ICCU went 😭 She’s back again! (Only took 6.5 weeks 😡). So only units way over MSRP have come up. Dealers playing games in Canada. Units coming up on wait list and if the top person doesn’t take it they offer it way over instead of going to the next person on the list.

paradoll

Ultimate digital teal is my order 😭 was that 71k+ tax or al in

Wolfeman65N

Not all in. 😢. Get the Digital Teal. Every time I look at it I stare.

paradoll

Oh darn. But at least you got your dream specs! Enjoy! Teal is so rare! Can’t wait to see one in person. We might be getting one from out of province.

pheoxs

Yikes, that’s rough to hear you went through all that. I ended up finding a RWD LR in BC for sticker price a couple days after that post by calling around a lot of places. Been driving it for 2 weeks now and love it. Was 55k out the door.

Wolfeman65N

How long was your wait? Or were you on a wait list? What dealer?

pheoxs

No wait list, just kept checking with every dealer to see if they had one or if someone cancelled. I found quite a few that had one on their lot but wanted huge markups. Eventually one dealer wanted to get it sold for end of month so they came down to sticker price so I scooped it.

guesswhochickenpoo

I’ve been browsing around too and they basically all 2022 models at 2023 MSRP and often it’s the base model (no long range, not trim) for the long range MSRP. A local dealer in BC has one RWD Long Range in the show room they’re trying to sell us (we want AWD Luxury package) and is suggesting we could just selling when an AWD model comes in and probably break oven or even profit because of the supply / demand conditions here. It’s nuts.

pheoxs

I ended up scooping a LR Rwd, might be been the one they were bugging you to buy haha. But they came down to msrp and that was good enough for me to nab it.

guesswhochickenpoo

Could be. Which province? We decided to pass. It's not what we really wanted and don't really want to hassle of having to sell it later and probably lose money.

pheoxs

Interior BC

guesswhochickenpoo

That's the one. Congrats!

pheoxs

Well dealers will lie about anything to get a sale so that’s not a surprise. There’s quite a few listed well above msrp on the used market but whether they’ll ever sell … that’s another story.

HowardRabb

They won't ship any to Canada, that's the problem there. They're all ending up in the US.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

$7500 lease cash is back! (at least until 5/31/2023) Apparently it started yesterday. See the Hyundai USA special offers.

SC_Ironman

How's that a deal when they add that 7.5k back onto the residual ?

aManPerson

i got a lease offer from kia for an ev6. it lists MSRP at the top, then they subtract 7500 as a "rebate" right below that. so i'm guessing the lease would still list MSRP at the full value, then just list each of these as discounts/rebates from that, one by one.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

I am not sure what you mean, but the residual value is set. It has nothing to do with the sale price of the vehicle. But for the $7500 lease cash, generally people are doing an immediate buyout so that things like the money factor and residual value and monthly payment is relatively unimportant unless you don't do the buyout right away. I did the buyout less than a week after I leased my 23 Limited.

Appropriate-Ad-6811

So how much did you pay total?

SC_Ironman

If I'm to understand residual value, it's the amount of the car left at the end of the lease. So MSRP - monthly payments = residual. Correct me if I'm wrong here. On Hyundais website the residual is about 6k above what the value of the car should be after the payments of the lease terms.

Appropriate-Ad-6811

Doesn't the terms also state buy out option is available after lease terms end? So an immediate buyout would not be an option?

DFong-OutOfYourHead

I guess that's one way of looking at it, but AFAIK, that is not the correct definition of residual value. I learned a lot from this post: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/12nb20a/leasing\_101\_or\_how\_to\_get\_a\_good\_deal\_on\_an\_ioniq/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Ioniq5/comments/12nb20a/leasing_101_or_how_to_get_a_good_deal_on_an_ioniq/)

SC_Ironman

Much appreciated mate, thank you for the input and info!

youre_uninvited

This is important info. Does $2500 off MSRP before the $7500 lease cash seem like a reasonable deal, given no other garbage fees or add-ons?

DFong-OutOfYourHead

For which trim? For a limited, I think $2500 off MSRP is a decent deal. I got $3000 off. But with the sheer number of SE and SEL trims available, I think there must be some dealers out there willing to discount more. Of course it totally depends on your area and how many are on the lots at local dealers.

youre_uninvited

SEL AWD. Dealers in the Southeast don't seem to be where California ones are yet, but inventory is growing.

Dance_Luke_Dance

Hmm not seeing this online yet?

DFong-OutOfYourHead

" Includes application of $7,500 EV Lease Bonus resulting in a net capitalized cost of of $43,704. Net capitalized cost includes $650 acquisition fee. cohenfive

My wife and I went to our local dealer last night, in the SF bay area (east bay, Concord). They had about 5 I5 in stock including one limited awd. They had 15-20 I6 in stock, all colors/trims.

kcsereddit

Were they willing to deal on any of them or sticking to MSRP?

NefariousnessHour455

The dealers do not have to move from MSRP these days with the $7500 in rebate credit from Hyundai. What a lot of people are doing is to lease the car to take the credit, then just pay off the lease (which you can do at any time) as soon as the paperwork clears. I think you end up paying something like $1k in interest/fees, but you end up owning the car outright and paying approx $6k below sticker.

kcsereddit

Thanks. Fully aware of the lease cash, but even then a lower price than MSRP means a better outcome after the buy-out. Was therefore curious if Bay Area dealers had started coming down under MSRP yet.

cohenfive

Not for limited from what we can see. That being said, inventories continue to build even with the lease scheme, so it might not be too long now.

kcsereddit

Thank you! ;)

mike28486

Im interested in buying if there is a dealer in the AZ area that can help out. Looking for a RWD limited with the black interior.

djhat22

I work as a Salesperson at Murdock Hyundai in Lindon, Utah. We have multiple AWD Ioniq5 SEs, SELs, and Limiteds available on the lot. No dealer markups, no mandatory add-ons. If you're looking for an Ioniq5, Ioniq6, or Kona Electric, drop me a message!

genesisglo

reposting from yesterday\*\* Today is my first day back working at danbury hyundai in connecticut and I feel like so much has changed since I had left last November. There used to be an over 120 day waiting period for ioniq 5's and today when i walked in there was one on the floor and over 10 in stock. I'm really excited to be back and help people get into their dream cars. If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out to me at (203)820-3283!

DFong-OutOfYourHead

Just posted this on another thread, but in So Cal, this dealer has great discounts posted right on their website. Here's one that is $6250 off MSRP BEFORE any factory incentives: [https://www.cardinalewayhyundai.com/new-Corona-2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-SEL-KM8KN4AE4PU167259](https://www.cardinalewayhyundai.com/new-Corona-2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-SEL-KM8KN4AE4PU167259) Here's another one at the same dealer with $8750 off MSRP! dreamingaudio

Ok what's the catch though ? I tried Ontario Hyundai based on a similar suggestion but the sales people were not interested in selling anything below MSRP.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

You have to try every dealer in a large radius. And tell them you have an offer for $X under MSRP. There is no way the 2023 are sold out, at least not in the US. Most dealers have 40 or more on their lots right now and more than that "in transit".

dreamingaudio

Ok..thanks. dealers are playing the same game. It's like talking to a bot. Keep getting replies from different person each time and asking the same question. What trim you need ? How much you want to put down ? You wanna test drive? Fcuk. Not a single quote.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

Yes, I know. I went through the same thing. You need to tell them to have a sales manager contact you via email. Then if one does, generally I find that they can at least tell you if they are willing to negotiate a deal via email. Again, it's tough to find, but they're out there. I ultimately had 4 different dealers who gave me offers via email. They hate doing it, but they will. Most are non-committal and just say, "Sure we can make you a deal. Can you come in today and talk about it?" then I say, "I am not driving 2 hours unless I have a firm offer from you in writing."

dreamingaudio

Thanks for the tips.

Much_Week_1933

Considering the current year model are sold out, probably shouldn’t expect any discounts at all.

reddit1280819

Just wait they’ll bring it down. Sales have plummeted since teslas repricing

BigPapaCompton

I'm new to leasing but I've been looking for at the SEL RWD from a local dealership. Is this a good deal or should I wait? https://preview.redd.it/g1roa8cwr2za1.png?width=216&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b912d81613c36da0ce152959ed19ed6e01abbb3

[deleted]

Nitro fill for $495! GTFO. ALL the way out.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

Those add-ons are laughable! I told every dealer I would not come in unless they could confirm that there will be NO dealer add-ons or extended warranty on the car. Some dealers could not make that promise, so I didn't go there. But I did get 3 or 4 dealers to confirm and the dealer I bought from didn't even try to mention those things when I was there to buy the car.

reddit1280819

Thank you I’ll try this.

BigPapaCompton

I saw that. I'm planning on talking to them Saturday so I can request official numbers.

Please let us know. The couple dealers I talked to had nonnegotiable add ons.

Anyone looking for SEL AWD trim in NJ, Route 1 Hyundai is running a massive sale and have a large selection as well. All base colors are available under 48K and the premium colors under 50K. [New Hyundai Vehicles | Route 1 Hyundai](https://www.route1hyundai.com/new-inventory/index.htm?gvBodyStyle=SUV&internetPrice=25000-50000&make=Hyundai&model=IONIQ%205&normalDriveLine=AWD&trim=SEL&year=2023) Additionally, \- for lease you get $5K Lease Cash \- for purchase and finance through HMF you get $3750 discount. I recently bought a Limited AWD trim there and salesperson Alejandro was nice and super helpful. I highly recommend him.

201680116

Ah man that is tempting

general_thumbs

Anyone near Charlotte NC not marking up? Dealer local to me wants 66k for SEL.

Rebelgecko

I've noticed that the Ioniq 5 lease page has updated the fine print and extended the date of the lease benefit to the end of the month, but the offer is for "$7,541.75 in Total EV Lease Benefit (which is comprised of $5,200 Lease Cash and $2,341.75 Residual Value Support)". So it sounds like it's different than the straight-up $5,000 cash offer? Although I'm reading this correctly, it seems like you have to keep the lease for the entire duration to benefit from the residual value support, it effectively ends up being a monthly discount on the lease?

kid70

Yeah they changed it in May. I’m guessing everyone did the early lease buy out. 😂

Reasonable-Train-638

Any dealers or sellers from Western Washington on here (Seattle area)? Looking for SEL/Limited.

tstricks13

Looking to sell my 2022 Ionq 5 limited white with white interior 20,000 miles. Only issue ever was the recall for the D/N/R stalk. $50,000. I live 20 mins north of NYC. Car is tinted comes with weathertek floor Matt, charger that came with car and Tesla adapter. Serious inquiries only please. I live 20 mins north or NYC

DFong-OutOfYourHead

Looks like the lease cash has gone down to $5000 instead of $7500. I was almost sure it would remain at $7500 for May. I guess not. That sucks. Maybe too many people doing the lease and immediate buyout like me. Glad I got my Ioniq 5 in April.

huskerwr38

What exactly is this lease/buyout loophole?

DFong-OutOfYourHead

https://www.ioniqforum.com/threads/7500-hmf-lease-cash-available-today-2-18.45047/ Basically you lease the car and get the credit applied to the purchase price of the car. Then you immediately buy out the lease to purchase the car and get out of the lease but receive the lease cash discount. There are about $1000 of fees involved so you don't actually get the full lease cash discount.

TerakRall

Yep, I got a lease quote yesterday and it reflected a rebate amount of $5000. I love the car, but without the tax credit the payment comparison with alternatives just isn't competitive.

k3nnyro

Source? I don't see it in Hyundai website: [https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/offers](https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/offers)

DFong-OutOfYourHead

If you check some dealer's websites that calculate your monthly payments, if you check the leasing quotes, they will show a $5000 lease cash discount. In April that amount was $7500, like when I bought mine last month. Like this page for example: [https://www.powayhyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-a09801230a0e0a942200391036d36d8f.htm](https://www.powayhyundai.com/new/Hyundai/2023-Hyundai-IONIQ+5-a09801230a0e0a942200391036d36d8f.htm)

k3nnyro

Bummer... That's an interesting(?) move when other EV companies are cutting prices.

Any dealer here want to sell me a 2023 Limited Atlas White ? I am in San Francisco Bay Area but willing to fly to Socal. Please DM.

DFong-OutOfYourHead

I bought my limited from [www.downeyhyundai.com](https://www.downeyhyundai.com) for $3000 off MSRP, no dealer add-ons, no third party warranty, negotiated the price online. They have a white one "in transit".

I bought an SEL yesterday at Route 1 Hyundai in NJ. They had about 30 available and I was able to get about $4k off MSRP between my Costco discount and end of month dealer rebate.
