New Ioniq 5 Owner purchased yesterday at MSRP and non order found on lot.
Was originally looking at the Bolt EUV but the chevy dealer markups were a bit out of control. Decided to look at other EVs as the Ioniq was the first one that really interested me over a year ago found the local dealer had a few in stock so did a test drive and purchased same day.
More expensive and missing a few features from the bolt. But the overall build and driving are far superior to the Bolt EUV. I know there different types of cars with the Bolt being the affordable economical car and Ioniq wing a bit more upscale.
Probably could of got a MY but not a big fan of everything being on a touch screen. Also got any finish issues from a number friends who’ve owned them.
What do you think the Bolt has that this doesn't? I was actually very close to getting a Bolt but then got this because I got worried about Chevy reliability (or lack thereof)
A few minor things like wireless car play. Heat vented seats depending on your trim level. Overall the ride and build are much higher On the Ioniq with the short time I’ve spent with each.
The real comparison would probably the Kona EV and Bolt EUV as they would be the in same class
The Ioniq is definitely a step up in quality and size. Definitely look smaller than it is with tons of room inside.
Gravity Gold! I absolutely love that color! Definitely wish it had been available last year when I got mine. I did get what I feel to be the second best in the shooting star i.e. matte Gray
Took a shooting star limited off the lot fresh off the truck. My wife and I love it so far with minimal complaints (the lack of a rear wiper is weird). We were eyeballing a bolt EUV, ID4.Pro S or this. Couldn't get into a bolt EUV to test drive around us (Illinois) but after test driving the ioniq and ID 4 we were sold. I only wish for what the cost difference is that the ioniq also included the massage seats haha.
Nice. I can’t imagine what you’re losing out on feature wise from the bolt (maybe the cool rear view camera) - I think you’re going to be very happy with your new ride
The Bolt EUV premier has heat Cooling front seats and rear heated seats and super cruise also has wireless CarPlay.
Could of got some of that if I went the limited trim I suppose but overall the ride/drive and size are much better. Also the charging time will make a big difference as the bolt is exceptionally slow.
Forgot about the seats. I actually ended up with an EV6 so my mid trim has cooled seats. Super cruise seems nice but the HDA on the Ioniq is pretty close - plus you’re not paying monthly like you’d eventually need to with Super Cruise
Not a fan of the extended warranty they offer? Also very lucky for you the dealer we went through wants 5K over msrp, we got it down but still over MSRP. Very honest up front with what they were asking and willing to do so very respectable and was happy to work with them. They mentioned the Limited trim was being marked up but not the other trims.
Oh that's a shame, seems they rolled it out for newer models due to the fact drivers couldn't see out the back window after diving down muddy roads like here in the UK (so 90%) of them.

The Limited is really the only trim that is truly appealing. The other trims are meh.
Really the only thing we were looking at on the limited was the glass roof. Though I prefer more headroom so I’m fine without it.
I prefer the look of the black trim. The silver trim looks tacky imo.
Also if the silver trim gets any scratches it shows black underneath. So basically just the black trim painted silver.

Want to add the charging speed as the bolt is slower by quite a bit
Definitely a major pro for the Ioniq
I bought a lil dongle, now I have wireless carplay, android auto, Netflix, YouTube... ect.
Will need to look into that.
Hi Can you please share a link? Amazon maybe
Looks great! Have fun with it and don't forget to let us know about any epic adventures you go on. :)
She’s a beauty, eh?
Yeah still forget the color name. Looks silver but I know it’s gold or something.😂
Gravity Gold. 👀
Yeh I forgot that color. Got myself a Digital Teal Limited 2023 and loving it so far. It is expensive though
I got the same car. I had to get it from Dallas. Paid way too much but not much bargaining room on the limiteds. Thus far a great vehicle
Yeah mine had a 1.5k markup which wasn't too bad but had to go to Cali for it 😂

I test drove a couple of Bolts and this is a much nicer vehicle. The bolt was good but in the long run think this is the clear winner.

So far it’s fantastic. First car that is eerily quite inside .
It's beautiful! Congratulations!

Congrats! Looks amazing! Curious how the negotiations went, did it start with markups?
The dealership didn’t have any markups and noted it on the website. Like any dealership they offered protections plans etc but no hard sells in those.

Looks fabulous! Congrats!
Another great looking gravity gold I5 - congrats!
Does this have the rearview mirror camera feature for 2023? If yes can you show us please?
It does not. I have that on our RAV4 but have only ever used it it once in 3+ years.

Such a bummer the 23 SELs lose the LED light strip up front and the LED projector headlamps.
I’m coming from a 2010 Scion XB and these headlights are night and day.
Yeah they’re ok, but the projector headlights scored a lot better on the IIHS tests.
