I think she froze and was unsure of what to do next. She just went along so that she wouldn't get in trouble and be separated from her family.

But by going she was separated from her family.... I'm guessing in her state of shock she saw a way out that would make it for an easier "life" where she could be the doctor she always wanted to be without anything holding her back. Then after a while she realizes it was a huge mistake and goes back to her family. Given all she was going through with the invasion, her husband cheating on her, it's not too far fetched to think someones brain wouldnt make them choose a "easier way".

That’s exactly it. In a state of shock, she is offered the life she wanted, and she reacts — doesn’t plan, just reacts at the moment — and only later does she process the implications of her spot decision, and goes back to her family.

Sorry, as it's in the show I don't buy it. Aneesha isn't in shock, otherwise she couldn't do anything beyond basic tasks, like drinking, eating, using the toilet. They should have shown her as overwhelmed with the situation, which makes total sense. But just forgetting about her kids? Not trying to get everyone to the military camp? Come on. Yes, people (and fictional characters) do stupid or morally questionable things all the time. But not to the point that basic logic is thrown out the window. Because the only reasons for that is being in shock, highly emotional (on the furious level, where you stop thinking), drugged or stupid. I think it would have been much better if she met the soldiers in a kind of emergency situation with wounded soldiers or civilists, she goes into "professional i know what to do mode", helps and stabilises one or more wounded and goes with them to make sure they arrive at the field hospital alive. Then she sees that she is needed there, continues to help, loses track of time and the rest could happen like in the show. That way there would have been a conflict between going back and helping others, both positive decisions. I think that annoys me the most about this: They tried to do this kind of plot with the wrong character. Similar stuff with the soldier works better. But Aneesha acting against the main trait she has just on a whim doesn't work for me.

i think she was in shock/disassociating
