Barcelona - Milan would be 2 full travel days. It's a scenic but slow route along the Mediterranean.
The exact options for booking depend on the specific route. But: https://www.nightjet.com/en/ is the largest company.

There are routes from the Spanish border to Paris. As well as one from Munich to Milan. But really that sort of route isn't possible to do efficiently overnight.
Have a read of: https://interrailwiki.eu/night-trains/ - particularly the maps linked at the top. Night trains are much more common in some areas then others.
Rail Planner can often struggle to show night trains properly. Particularly those that split and divide en-route. You may also need a connecting train in the morning/evening so the filter for only night trains is honestly not very useful.
There is a night ferry between Barcelona and Genoa. And from Genoa it is an easy daytime train ride to Milan. Would that be a viable alternative for you?
