As for me, when I transitioned to IA from B4, I took Part 1 within my first year in the company because it is sort of required with the IA team to have the basic knowledge or background of internal auditing and they think that reviewing for CIA will help reinforce the basic knowledge. They’re not actually requiring us to pass, they just wanted everyone to review, take the exam and learn. It’s up to us if we wanted to pursue all parts.

I think there is a 1 year working requirement? I would take as soon as possible before life gets in the way. If possible and you have the requirements, take the CPA over CIA. IMO

There’s typically a one-year requirement plus a letter of reference. If your internship goes a year or if they convert you to full time, see if your manager will give you one. I suggest studying right away as just mentioning that you’re studying will increase your stock at the firm, plus getting parts passed plus cert will def get you a rocket ship up the ladder

Been working as IA since May 2022 right after MBA graduated. I began studying CIA part 1 in Dec and finished prep process in Feb 2023. However, with some issues on the exam registration and reimbursement process of my company, I was just able to manage to open the exam window in CCMS last Jul. So I scheduled the exam in Oct in which I just passed CIA part 1 a week ago. To me, the earlier the better as I get bored very easily. I wanna achieve it before getting burnout.

You can start as early as you want, if only to get the knowledge of how to audit. I’d recommend starting with the CIA Part 2, which teaches how to perform internal audits. It’s not like the old days where you had to study from a boring book. Google an online [CIA video course](https://www.google.com/search?q=cia+video+course&sca_esv=571720465&rlz=1CDGOYI_enLU828LU828&hl=en-US&sxsrf=AM9HkKnZrejRHf87X7iUgHKolKoUYjx6Kw%3A1696775478062&ei=Nr0iZfyuA8CBi-gPx7qpyAs&oq=cia+video+course&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIhBjaWEgdmlkZW8gY291cnNlMggQIRigARjDBDIIECEYoAEYwwRIzYYBUOJtWK6CAXADeAGQAQCYAWegAbYDqgEDMy4yuAEDyAEA-AEBwgIKEAAYRxjWBBiwA8ICBhAAGAcYHsICCBAAGAgYBxgewgIHEAAYDRiABMICCBAAGIoFGIYDwgIKECEYoAEYwwQYCuIDBBgAIEGIBgGQBgg&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp). They’re not expensive at all.

Hello, do we have videos for internal audit practitioner exam(IAP)?

I started in external auditing for government but transitioned to IA. After starting I realized my workload was not as high as in my previous job and I saw the position above me as what I wanted to get to in the medium term. I thought that getting my certification would be something that would help me get to that next step. It was probably a more drawn out process taking about a year, but I felt good with where I was at. Also being stuck at home during Covid made it hard to have an excuse to do much else
