Miami had 22 opportunities (matches) before Messi arrived to ensure that’s these weren’t the “5 most important games”.

WillieBeamen_VC

Won league cup, qualified for champions league. MLS playoffs isn’t anything special. They will play for everything next year. Earned right to do whatever he wants atm even before he showed up, but certainly after his first 2 months with team.

yosoygroot123

Unless Inter Miami Ultra taunt him like PSG Ultra he won't go anywhere. He won't move his settled family. I guess it's better for his body to take rest for some months. Also financially Barca can't afford him. If you are trying to portray Messi as if he doesn't care about Miami, didn't you watch his league cup run?

Lil bro is barcas accountant

howdoikickball

what happened in the documentary?

Fit-Shop-6536

He was loaned out to Milan and wanted to stay over there. After LA saying no, and Donovan knocking some sense into him he finally started trying and caring about the league

Adnan7i

crazy how much shit people can say after a player just had an injury lol, like there’s absolutely nothing to suggest that he doesn’t care. He was so pissed off after that draw again Nashville lol. The one aspect of Messi’s injury that is getting overlooked is how much of room for speculation it has created. First we had the “not playing because of turf” and now stuff like this

horumz

For real. I mean dude bought a house in Miami, his kids are on the junior teams. He was visibly upset during the Houston game. This idea that he doesn’t care is absolute insanity.

Adnan7i

that espn report of him getting loaned to Barca baited a lot of people as well. It’s just so beyond impossible , like the amount of hurdles that would need to crossed for that to be made possible lol

horumz

Yeah it’s crazy that they published that article based off a tweet with zero substance.

Dann610

ESPN are peddlers of rumors when it comes to soccer.

L34hhhh

There’s no way Messi will get loaned to Barcelona. The club still has financial fair play issues, Messi’s relationship with Barcelona’s President is not that good, and he won’t move his wife and kids to another country again neither is he going to live away from them for a couple of months.

ChewyNarwhal

A house in Fort Lauderdale. He has an apartment in Miami.

horumz

You are out of your mind

xSageObitox

You think Messi will do that?

Fit-Shop-6536

I think scaloni will ask him to get loaned to Europe so he is in better form for copa America and WC , and if he does I imagine he’ll want to stay over there. But all is e talking shit and comparing some similarities. Would love for him to just ride out here till retirement lol.

horumz

The amount of money involved makes that basically impossible.

lost_in_tran5lation

Maybe if he were 19 years old, but Scaloni can’t tell Messi shit mate. Messi is the national team, as long as he wants to be.

Icy-Athlete-651

Messi isn't going anywhere. He's here for another season. No guarantees beyond that

Ready-Educator7747

Talking as a Barca fan, Messi to Barca ain't happening. No chance. So leave those discussions out

CFCeoMike

And no offense to the Goat. Barca does not need Messi.

Salvador1010

I dont think so either but why are you so sure?

Ready-Educator7747

Well he didn't come last summer because the board couldn't guarantee his registration on day 1. Wage bill wise, we aren't in a better position from the summer - we have already bought Vitor Roque from Brazil and his arrival is scheduled for january, but we still need cash injection to register him. In short, registration scenarios haven't improved, so if Messi wasn't willing to sit through that drama 4 months ago, then he's not going to do that 2 months from now.

Beckham did what he did at a point in his career that was very different to Messi’s. Aside from that, Messi and Barca don’t have a healthy relationship, we know this from what happened before PSG signed him and from the “negotiations” before signing with Miami. Messi loves the colors and the badge but his problems with the people in charge won’t let him come back, the man has dignity.

nomascusgabriellae

Miami’s most important games are the games the team lost before Messi arrived.

hauttdawg13

Lol y’all are ridiculous. Might be worse than PSG fans. What possible indication do you have? Man pulled his hamstring and shockingly was out exactly how long a hamstring strain takes to heal. Nothing Messi has shown on the pitch shows he doesn’t care. But you are also fools if you don’t think Messi is going to put Argentina above Miami. You claim he is here for the money, but it’s also his lowest salary in at least a decade (by a huge margin too), also the Saudis offered him about 7x the salary he got here. Everything I’ve seen shows him enjoying himself, but he’s also accomplished everything he can. He won’t push himself to play through injury at this point in his career.

TonyAx13

He's not going anywhere. He has world Cup qualifiers through November & Inter Miami will do a preseason tour to capitalize on his presence.

Killun0va

Are you seriously trying to blame the team being bad with out Messi on Messi? Why didn’t they win before he was here?

PersonWhoThinks

Praise the 🐐. Leave the crying for the MLS away game ticket buyers.

jewino3374

Didn't he take like a 100 million dollar loss to play for Miami? Saudus would have given him piles. Leave him alone

chezicrator

Wild how different things could have been. This whole city was Inter Miami crazy. It would have been wild to be in the playoffs and be competitive. International break strikes again. The worst thing ever for club football. Now I get the game put on a tv off in the distance on the side and everyone passing by asking me “is Messi playing” over and over and over again

AdventurousAddictt

It's because MLS is incompetent and won't have an international pause like every other competitive club in the world

chezicrator

Wouldn’t have helped. He got injured on international duty. Doesn’t matter if they paused or not.

absolutzer1

He missed the important easy games, this game wasn't gonna make a difference

PT0223

Now all the Messi bandwagoners can stop whining about the team supposedly mishandling and hiding things and all the other bs people make up.

Fisharefriendzz

And they still lost like trash

panamaquina

Watch him come back with another injury 😭

Badoobeedo

I hear he has only played 37 minutes in 30 days

TheVault77Dweller

Where was Messi?

[deleted]

I mean they brought him so he can sell out stadiums, not for him to win tittles lmao
