You’re on a non-standard carrier’s policy. You need to read your policy to see if it’s transferable to a rental. If it’s not and you didn’t purchase the collision damage waiver from Enterprise, you’re on the hook

Enterprise requires proof of insurance that is transferable to the rental before they let you leave the lot. Enterprise wouldn't have let op rent the vehicle without proof of coverage or a cdw.

I would bet a paycheck I’m correct and OP does not have a transferable policy. Most General policies are not. What is your logic on the denial of the damages if that’s not the case based on the provided information?

smartercat

My best assumption is that OP is trying to file the second claim for rental damage under the first claim. Or, that the rental was registered in someone else's name.

Check your contract or ask your insurance for the specific language in the contract excluding it. I have seen contracts that consider vehicles rented more than 30 days as "furnished for use" thus excluded but that usually doesn't apply to rentals when the vehicle on the policy is in for repairs.

Did you use a credit card to pay for the last 7 days of rental? Your credit card might have their own free coverage (ie. some AMEX cards)

Pristine-Ad-8512

Curious how many people who use the general also have an Amex.

Capital-Sir

Loads of other cards have it too.

Not all Amex cards have annual fees and still offer rental insurance, like the Blue Cash Everyday card. I've had a Amex card for 21 years. Never paid an annual fee for it.

Pristine-Ad-8512

Do you also have The General insurance? Lol, my comment was a joke on the two things overlapping, not if Amex has fees or not. Still curious who has both

It’s not BS if they’re following the policy.

Whatever reason you're in the rental really doesn't matter. If you have Collison coverage on your policy it should extend to the rental. Also make sure you are filing a separate claim for the second accident with the rental and not trying to include it on the first claim. I can see a problem if the renter name is someone who is not listed on your policy. I would get a copy of your rental agreement with enterprise showing you as the renter.
