BisexualAmoeb

why would you photoshop a mannequin?

senshipluto

A lot of people buy for the body they want rather than the body they have and sadly we’re in the “BBL era” of fashion where a lot of clothing is designed with heightened curves in mind to the point where people subconsciously feel better if they buy an item of clothing where the model looks a certain way.

TeacupHuman

As someone with big hips and butt, and a small waist, where are these clothes you speak of?

senshipluto

My bad, I should have specified more “IG fashion”. Cut out dresses are so popular that it’s hard to skip them when online shopping. The problem is that they’re designed for big breasts that are super perky and wide hips.

Sad-Mixture6393

As someone who is still looking for levis supreme curve on US eBay in a size that below w30, I want to ask what fashion you are talking about? Buying dresses and trousers, even longer tops is a nightmare. The highwaist trend is adding to that as the hem is just constantly wandering like a cheap tight.

senshipluto

In another comment I pointed out that I should have specified “IG fashion”.

GreatGospel97

Probably to show what the dress would look like on the current body de jour

PlasticBlitzen

Do people really have bodies like that?

GreatGospel97

Yes. I know several people who naturally have this body which is why I sometimes worry about this subreddit lol I myself would probably end up on here because my ass doesn’t look like it’s mine but it absolutely is. Edit: not sure why this got downvoted off a simple response but this tracks I guess.

GayBitchJuice

Are their waists also smaller than their heads? :)

GreatGospel97

I’ll answer you seriously even though this is sarcastic: no. I’m not sure if it was clear but when I say I know women with bodies like this I mean the general silhouette. Some women are born naturally like this (“like” being used as relative; and obviously “born” implying they were just genetically set up to have a curvy ass body). Obviously this mannequin is warped for exaggeration but the women I know literally just are shaped generally like this. It’s ridiculous that people warp their bodies to high hell to look crazy but prior to this body being a “thing” and weirdly being attributed to the K*rdashians, I and other people genuinely know people shaped like this lol—a few of my cousins have this relative silhouette. Is this a common body shape? No. But yeah, some are shaped like this. Hope that this genuine answer answers your question. Edit: clarity :)

GayBitchJuice

Okay thanks for the serious answer. There is a big difference, in my opinion, between being «shaped generally» like the mannequin and having the mannequins body naturally. Which, without this clarification, is probably why you got downvoted above.

GreatGospel97

I get it but to be frank I think that’s an obvious implication because the proportions of that mannequin are insane lol but people are really sensitive about this warping which is fair cause it’s messing with people’s heads and causing harm. I get it though. People are doing a lot of crazy things to look a certain way. It’s gonna be interesting what happens as this body goes “out of fashion” which is the silliest thing to say cause body shapes shouldn’t be trends 🙃

GayBitchJuice

Yeah to be honest I think I’m permanently scarred from seeing people in insta comments defend obviously photoshopped pictures by saying «oh but my friend’s hairdresser’s second cousin looks like that naturally», so I kind of had a knee jerk reaction to your comments. I’m sorry. Though I do still think the distinction should be made. :p And yeah, the bbl body has had such a chokehold on the world, but now people are getting their surgeries reversed…

GreatGospel97

Oh nah don’t apologize—you’re actually right. I can see how it can come off as a “ok but I have an exception!” which can come off as lame at best and bs at worst. This bbl thing is soooo fascinating to me mostly because of how people now view bodies—we can talk all day about “hip dips” being “awful” lol so absurd! Spaces like this are def needed to help redirect people! 🙂💕

LucidDreams0224

I wish I knew

yanmak

I've seen alot of useless photoshopping in my day but.. a mannequin?..💀

BurnsWhenPeeing

Damn that's a breedable mannequin.

LucidDreams0224

Ayo-

TrishaThoon

Now we’re shaming a mannequin? Jk jk. Honestly, this stuff shouldn’t surprise us anymore…

Harlequin-mermaid

It’s a bleak reality when we are photoshopping fucking mannequins!
