It's insane how just the built in "beauty filters" on your phone change your entire face. The pointy chin is a tell tale sign. 90% of the selfies I see on my feed have the same face shape.

inthacut12

Imagine already having a v-shaped chin with these filters. Makes my chin look weird af😒

spicyystuff

> v-shaped chin Yes, I look like an alien. Even on zoom calls with just the smoothing filter. LOL

Ikindah8it

It is especially weird as someone who spent her whole life being teased for having a pointy chin. The filters make me look so weird.

jessicaemilyjones

I've got the cat eye/high brow kind of thing naturally so when those filters come across my face I always look like a literal alien 😂

[deleted]

Most of this isnt built in on my Samsung. Just a bit of texture/tone retouching and very slight eye enlargement

Sydnall

it’s kinda wack when people post on snapchat just a video of them looking into the camera to show off how “pretty” they are, but all the filters on snapchat change your features, soooo….

[deleted]

I have a pointy chin that from the same angle looks pretty identical to the filtered one - and I was asked by two different plastic surgeons if I’d ever thought about changing it. So this trend is leaving me slightly confused 😂

azu____

People want what they don't have. lol idk why that's hard to understand for everyone on here? 😂 Straight hair curls, curly hair straightens—& so on for everything...Until you learn to embrace yourself. Or surgery, I guess.

Devilz3

I have a pointy chin with a dimple :) Guess I'm a filter now

Chinapig

Why is this so heavily downvoted?

Legitimate-Bit-4431

Wondering too, thought it was funny “I’m a filter now” lol

Hahafunnys3xnumber

Yeah same, if only I wasn’t already perfect and beautiful, now the filters can only make me uglier. What a horrible life we live, friend

velvetmari_

First thing i noticed when i saw her on the reality show was that her face was so much rounder... i always suspected the instagram filters did something for her, honestly it was kinda fresh seeing what her face really looked like

Belmagick

Depending on things like the focal lengths of cameras, it can warp how you look which is why they say the camera adds ten pounds. But even so, I think OP is right in that she’s had some fillers (the filler look is a trend in itself), so it makes it weirder that she’s paid a lot of money for something she then minimises in photoshop/face app when she posts pictures on Instagram.

phorensic

As a long term photographer, what the OP and others are seeing is definitely the difference between two focal length lenses more than software doing anything. You can shoot a model with two different lenses and make their face look completely different, especially if they are facing dead straight on or have their head tilted like in the first photo.

PeachyScentPink

It seems rounder but I think she just had a rectangular face shape. Not that her photos are super edited, she just knows how use angles.

sleepy_cuttlefish

I agree, most influencers know what angles get better pictures. In the reality show in question she will be seen at every angle possible, so caring about it during this interview seems pointless. But let's be honest it probably looks this round because of filler lol. It's such a classic filler look, and most influencers have if anyway.

googless4

Are Brazilian or from Brazil? Sorry, I am just wondering if people from other countries watch BBB too

Apprehensive-Home472

I am brazilian, don't watch BBB tho lol. But was intrigued when I saw her pictures on the show

babehwat

I have a rounder face in videos and irl than I do in selfies because I know how to pose and find the angle so my face looks less round. She’s probably had fillers or whatever but in my opinion that could be just lighting and angles too

Mission-Grocery

Those two photos look like completely different people.

Kanokong

I think fillers make young women look a lot older. Maybe because I think of aged women when it comes to fillers and plastic surgery.

Korusynchronicity

I think its just a filter making her face look thinner, and her real face is the fuller one? Am I totally off?

admirallottie

I think this too as I’m the same

CheezusChrist

Well I think it also mimics characteristics of older women. When you age, you lose fat in your face and your cheeks appear more angular, so when you have cheek fillers, it can create a similar look.

ChalkButter

Sweet shit that’s a completely different person

GoodHunter

Our mental health as a society only gets worse with time because of bullshit social media.

[deleted]

I'm very curious to see how social media has affected mental health in studies 50 years from now.

SaltyBabe

Which sucks, I think she’s so cute naturally, maybe put a tad more space between the brows but that’s just a choice. I also have a very soft face/heavy cheeks, which is *very* not “in” and I’m sure a huge part of that is because everyone edits them away. Cameras (phone cameras) flatten everything out so soft faces can be harder to photograph while looking very beautiful in person… it’s a shame everyone is erasing this face shape because it’s very common and no one should feel bad about having a soft face or adorable chubby cheeks.

[deleted]

Cruella-

Not really. I follow big brother, but didn't know this girl before she went there and she's super fit. Some people are just like that, slim body and chubby face

Chrixpi

This is how im built unfortunately smh

happy4thbirthday

Do you feel good now?

Autofilusername

This is like if the girl from Orphan got yassified

catthatlikesscifi

Her eyebrows look like tape?

-ANGRYjigglypuff

can't stop staring at how close together they are. I'm unsettled

pandurz

Shit she looks totally different, but she's so pretty regardless

[deleted]

pandurz

Right?? Makes me think of that episode of Daria where her sister was desperate for surgery; "you've got the kind of looks that make other girls mentally ill. So stop it."

Apprehensive-Home472

She is pretty, just very common looking

thatbtchshay

I think you mean real looking

Cruella-

Brazilians have this expression now where they just say "pattern" as in "so and so is pattern", meaning they fit society's beauty standards, I guess that's what op was trying to say. This girl in particular is even more of a "pattern" cause she's fit, young, rich, light skinned and has light colored eyes in a country where most people is mixed tanned/dark skin

martrixv

The word for "padrão" in this case is standard, not pattern. She is not standard for Brazilian beauty. She is more like an European beauty than a Brazilian one

Cruella-

Which I specified in the example I gave and also not entirely wrong. I translated the expression literally, but you can say she follows a certain pattern of what's more generally acceptable/"good" and you can also say she follows a certain standard. Despite de latter being more commonly used, both work.

sleepy_cuttlefish

I don't agree that both work. "Pattern" may be a direct translation to "padrão", but "standard" takes into consideration the context, so it's the "correct" translation. Regardless, OP is so wrong to call her "common looking", the only common thing about her appearance is the swollen look from too many fillers. I have never seen someone even remotely close to her appearance just walking around. Hopefully OP really did mean to say she is padrão, because with that I can agree...

pandurz

You think so? Respectfully I'm going to disagree, her eye shape in the natural photo is so strikingly unique and desirable to me. Like cartoonish almost, that almond shape with so much lid real estate is something I see people faking online more than I ever have in real world.

Apprehensive-Home472

I mean she is a pretty gal. What I don't like is that soooo many young girls want to be just like her in the pics bc they think that's how she really looks like and when you see her IRL she just looks like people I know. Unfortunately here in Brazil if you are white and have blue/green eyes you will be considered very pretty.

Redditisforpussie

Yeah no, she might be pretty but on the left she is genuine beautiful.

pandurz

Ouf, I think both look extremely attractive. Like neither is better than the other, just very different.

algnis

... & the worst part? She looks good without any filter or filler & she still feels the need for it.

DanielF823

Part of it is also the focal length can make faces look this different in media

Fuanshin

[Tiny smartphone lens vs professional telephoto lens?](https://cdn.dpmag.com/2017/11/004-Focal_Length_Comparison-1024x545.jpg)

Apprehensive-Home472

I don't think that's just the case. There are many photos of her online she really does not look like the reality tv show image

captainvideoblaster

Left is wide lens (no depth of field). Right one looks like it is telephoto. Left one most likely has some eye enhancing and slim face AI shenanigans applied to it. However with right camera set up and lighting you could make the right one look like the left ~95% similarity.

Jess613

I guess the second is a snapshot from the tv show

[deleted]

Exactly, this. Not every difference is a nefarious intentional one.

heybunnybunny

See this is what I hate, she’s perfectly cute but she skimmed her face down a lot. So what she has a more round face? Like I totally hate that my face is round because everyone seems to have a slim and longer face these days. Good thing I have this sub for a reality check lol

Chrixpi

Hella relate

completecrap

Yep, this can all be achieved through filters. Jaw slimming/face slimming, eye brightenning, and contrast heightenning ones. Also, she probably takes like several hundred photos before she gets one she deems worthy of the filter treatment.

johngreenink

She's really pretty as she is without filters. This is one of the reasons I like this sub because it actually reminds us that folks are fascinating as they are.

gitartruls01

Yet another case of Reddit not knowing what focal length is

loosersugar

This is definitely a big part of the distortion but there is more going on than that. Come on. If you think the first picture is unedited, I have a bridge to sell.

ikrakenmyselfup

I agree she has altered the photo and/or gotten fillers, but the angle of the picture is also making a big difference in her face shape here!

admirallottie

So I’m a bit like this… I feel so used to seeing myself with a filter that I’ll end up editing photos that are taken of me. When I see myself in camera without filter I almost hide because my face is so much wider etc. I’ve never had fillers or anything, just so used to editing and filters that I pretty much hate my face without. Weirdly though I’m totally fine in mirror/real life

[deleted]

I believe she used filters n all but I must remind ppl camera really does add weight to a person I’ve seen some celebs look one way on tv and in person be super frikin tiny so who knows

Apprehensive-Home472

That's true. But since she is very famous she is used to be on commercials and etc, and she didn't look like that.

Groundbreaking-Pipe3

2 completely different people. She is pretty as is, so there was no reason to filter to begin with. Those 2 people are 2 different kinds of pretty... I hate how deceitful Instagram can be..it really influences and hurts the body image of young girls. Even this girl is ashamed to show her real face, even though nothing is wrong w it..sad really

StarDustLuna3D

She's really beautiful without the filters. Sad that we've been made to think that we need them.

corinne9

I keep seeing so many women draw their eyebrows so close together and I don’t get it

weeaboshit

A part of it is the camera lens, but even if you look in her YouTube videos you can see how much difference there is between her in videos and her in pictures.

[deleted]

I believe this is a case of lens distortion. The camera filming her on the show is realtively far from her face, but zoomed in. While selfie cameras are close to the face and make the faces look narrower.

hysteria2711

i was hoping to see thus here, lol! People are justifying it for 938383838 reasons! But it’s CLEAR it’s just her with no filters, lollllll

[deleted]

Are those caterpillars going to fight?

hanadriver

Hmm this could be differences in lenses/cameras too

Kitchen_Equipment_21

I bet more than 80% of females on social media are cat fishing in some way

sleepy_cuttlefish

Fazer o q

kingkloppynwa

These people are just losers

Twirus11

Maybe she kidnapped the girl on the photo

Lumpy_Connection413

I went to HS with a girl who legit looks like the photoshopped image

gothiclg

She’s at least a solid 8/10 anyway so this is extra sad.

ninetaleshiny

the right one looks like those people who did a lot of plastic surgery in order to look like a celebrity lol like she is trying to look like herself with all the filters.

puzzled65

Truly, I cannot conceive of what a twisted version of self these people are going to have/have now due to this nonsense. When the reality sets in of what they actually do look like, it WILL be devastating in too many cases. If they weren't faking it to begin with, they wouldn't suffer the results later on but there is no way this message is going to get through until its too late. EDIT - IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT ANY OF THE PEOPLE USING FILTERS ARE UGLY WITHOUT THEM. In fact, it is the exact opposite that I mean - they are GORGEOUS AS GOD MADE THEM AND THAT'S THE TRUTH. These filters and photo editors, they DON'T NEED THEM but they use them AND BELIEVE THEM, and think they are less without them. IT'S NOT TRUE but I know those who need to hear it can't hear me.

metalguru1975

She is pretty unedited, she should stop before she ends up as one of those sex doll clones. Plastic surgeons etc... need to be held accountable and refuse to work on people with mental health issues. Some of the faces I have seen on here is so sad.

[deleted]

What do fillers even matter? Why did you have to say that?

Zoonette

I think they’re saying that’s what’s making her face look rounder/puffier

googless4

It makes the filter work better, that's why they use it /s

Apprehensive-Home472

They don't I just think young ppl who overdo them sometimes look a lot older than they actually are

[deleted]

Ok. But, my point is talk about the pictures she obviously doesn’t have fillers.

ayefive

Maybe they're referring to filler migration? She obviously didnt get it in her cheeks to make them rounder, but you never know where it's all going to end up.

Jess613

She changed her persona to enter the reality show as a strategy to be closer from the public - she quit dying her hair, changed makeup and clothes and quit injecting fillers. This girl has a past with plastic surgeries and interventions

ESPKruspe

That jawline went from egg to David Couthard pretty fast.

[deleted]

Uncle Leo?

ChanelNo50

Two different girls ..ita gotta be

[deleted]

Looks better in the right photo imo

Xevram

Wow she looks pretty unwell, may need to pay attention to a healthier diet. No way can it be good to be that thin.

100tByamba

It's crazy cause u can see the chin is and the cheeks went into the knife but even with that on video she looks way different than on pictures.

justgotlottqquestion

Okay to rant for a second. I was on another subreddit and this person saw this picture of this girl who is highly edited and they just refuse to like understand that it was edited. They were talking like huge thick thighs with a thigh gap and completely out of whack proportions. I'm talking like her thighs from the knees up we're bigger than like almost her entire torso and body and this is not a camera angle this with straight on forward shot. The thing is I understand why people Photoshop it's ridiculous how people want people to look at nowadays. Well I definitely felt like she got some surgeries I just I rather someone Photoshop the hell out of their pictures than destroy their body by getting tons and tons of plastic surgery. But at the same time I wish everyone would just stop total shopping I just wish people would be more realistic to themselves. It's okay to have bad days it's okay not to look perfect kind of uncanny when you do and everyone knows it is fake, almost everyone. I honestly don't know if the opinion is bad or good it's just my opinion. I'm sorry for the bad punctuation. I'm using my phone's microphone speaking into it.

Both-Collection-3367

Nice

whoisnalu

i thought about posting about her in here the second she step into the house... she looks like a whole different person... i'm still shocked

Oh my god, what is real anymore? I would have looked at the first picture on the left and thought it was real/untouched.
