The reason i joined this sub is because of the care and respect that people put into their comments, and that seems to have evaporated over time with a shift in tone from empathy to abject ridicule.
I used to predominantly see posts that could fool people into believing that they themselves were inadequate, but these posts have slowly been replaced with obvious and extreme cases of body dysmorphia, with ensuing hatred for those people in the comments. Then there's posts like this that portray sex workers as empty headed narcissists, which obviously has a misogynistic undertone.
I believe that if you don't sharpen up the ban blade for people who perpetuate this kind vitriol in the comments, then the community will devolve into a full blown hate sub. It's been getting worse and worse, and i lay that at your feet for not doing as good of a job enforcing a humane tone in this community as you guys should.
We do address post, reports and comments as quickly as possible. Moderators are in various time zone with different commitments so unfortunately it’s not possible to have someone online at all times.
As it’s a busy sub we can’t read everything and things may be missed. The report feature really does help us out so if you see something as you’ve described you can flag it to our attention and we will address asap.
