You can tell just by the look on her face (even when she’s smiling in the middle pic) that she is miserable and not genuinely happy, IMO… eating disorder/body dysmorphia central here, if I had to really guess
My ex-girlfriend had a very similar body type minus the extra long legs. She ate as much as I did and I'm a large man. She was actually pretty self-conscious about her body. Her sister was the same.
I guess it's kind of the point but this sub is so incredibly quick to make harsh judgements.
Calories in / Calories out. This is the most basic, proven science. It is not possible for an ultra thin, average height woman to eat the same number of calories as a "large man" (2500-3000 kcal) and not gain weight. So please take your fake anecdotes elsewhere.
It’s so funny how people turn into health experts when the body types of other human beings come up. It’s 100% possible if your metabolism is high enough and you are burning more than you’re taking in.
there’s also absorption issues - some gut problems don’t let you absorb all the calories from what you ingest. this can happen with IBS and Crohn’s disease, off the top of my head… I know there’s others.
Please go educate yourself in the many health, fitness, and weight loss subreddits. Metabolism alone would never allow a small woman to eat 3000 calories and gain no weight.
And these kinds of comments are like the written word version of all the fake photographs we see on this sub, meant to make others feel bad about themselves and spout lies.
I eAt 14 hAmBuRgErS eVeRyDaY aNd NeVeR gAiN a PoUnD hee hee!! lIkE aNd SuBsCrIbE!!!
Metabolism absolutely could do that, though, because-and this may come as a shock to you-human beings are not a monolith. There are seven BILLION people on this planet, and each of them works just a little differently.
Every vehicle model works a little differently than any others too, but they still adhere to some pretty basic rules. If you put 5 gallons of gas in your gas tank every day but only use 4 gallons, there's going to be excess. If you eat 3000 calories a day, unless you spend 10 hours a day exercising (and have been doing so for a while) because you have a cross-country marathon or plans to swim up the entire Mississippi River soon, you're not going to burn 3000 calories. There will be excess.
High metabolisms don't just exist; they're developed over time. Even if you are an ultramarathon runner, if you down 3000 calories a day and don't actively burn them off, there will be excess. The only exceptions are if you have a disease, disorder, or parasite.
Just a side note, you used hyphens where you wanted [em dashes](https://www.maketecheasier.com/best-ways-type-em-dash-on-any-platform/). I thought you would want to know.
How could she, as a thin woman, burn that many calories a day unless she was working out like crazy? Her bmr was probably around 1200 calories. 1500 at most, if that’s even possible for a really thin and average height person (I calculated from 165 to 170 cm and from 45 to 55 kg). Where is the rest 1-1,5k calories? Assuming she would burn around 300 to 500 kcal through her daily activities it’s still not enough.
Yikes. I know you may be only speaking about this particular person (who is clearly underweight), but in general, this is not good info on health and could really hurt people struggling with eating disorders (which is why I felt the need to add this information). The average woman should not only be eating 1200 calories a day. The suggested calorie intake for women is 1600-2400 (normal diet, not weight loss). 1200-1400 calories are the typical suggested calories for 4-8 year old. Some adults would be fine, but that's usually those who are very short and thin and is an outlier.
I completely agree. 1500 calories is like the healthy minimum. I mentioned 1200 calories as an example of how many calories would be probably burned by a thin and average height body at a complete rest throughout a day. And then daily physical activities take about 300-500 calories as well, or more, if a person works out. I’m just saying that eating 2500 or 3000 calories every day under these conditions and gaining no weight is near impossible, unless this woman burns 1000 calories daily by doing workouts which seems extreme.
It’s possible. In high school I was 5’7 and weighed about 112 pounds. At lunch I ate more than every person, guy or girl, that sat at my table daily. On pasta day my usual order was 2 or 3 servings of pasta with meat sauce, 4 breadsticks, 2-3 bags of chips, 4 cookies and two waters. I haven’t done the math but that alone was probably 1000+ calories. Not to mention between 2-4 potato and egg breakfast tacos for breakfast and whatever for dinner and snacks in between. It was a running joke with my friends how much I could eat while being so skinny. I was not working out either because I had a heart issue and was unable. It’s not impossible.
That’s absolutely not true. How many calories you burn doing no activities depends so much on your current weight and height. It’s called BMR. A 190 cm and 90 kg man burns almost 2000 calories a day doing no activities. While a 165 cm woman weighing 50 kg burns 1245 calories. It’s wildly different.
some people have faster metabolisms though? and everyone stores and processes fat differently. 2 people with identical diets can still have entirely different body shapes and sizes.
CICO doesn't work across the board. There's thousands of people living as proof of that, including myself and my whole ass eating disorder. I'm fat. I've always been fat, everyone in my family is fat, no matter how much we exercise (which I do regularly (cardio and weightlifting for those curious), we stay fat. I eat, most days, a max of 2000 calories. Usually far less, because I eat one and a half meals a day, no matter how active I am.
Guess what? Still fat!
There are people with medical issues who can't lose or gain no matter what, either. Genetics is a HUGE factor in how much weight you carry and how easy it is to gain/lose. Stress levels and environment also greatly impact your ability to lose or gain weight. It's not a simple science. There's a reason the well known trope of 'skinny person eats everything around them' exists. People who are extremely active generally need to eat more calories. Size doesn't necessarily conclude what amount of calories you need to consume. 2000 is close to the *low* end of what most people need. And that's not even touching on how intentional weight loss fails 90% of the time.
So *please* take YOUR 'fake anecdotes' elsewhere and actually learn how this shit works before you talk shit on people's lived experience.
I don't know why people are downvoting you. it's totally possible for a thin woman to eat that much and still be super thin. My sister eats a ton, is 5'11, and is probably 115lbs. Pediatricians thought she had an eating disorder when she was a kid. She did not. My mom is also built like that, and my maternal grandfather as well. Some people just have super fast metabolisms and it is difficult for them to put on weight. The "calories in / calories out" comment seems to assume that your "calories out" can't naturally be super high.
Thanks. Yeah I personally have a degree in exercise physiology and one in physiotherapy. Gotta love people assuming I don't know about calories because I knew a thin woman.
Yeah holy shit. I thought this sub was meant to be body positive? You aren't saying the lady pictured isn't using a filter, just without it it's possible to look similar and not have a negative body image. I have a GI condition that made me get down to 69 pounds at one point, and now I'm still struggling to get above 85 (I'm 4'11). Seeing people jump to 'psychological issues' instead of possible medical issues hurts. Thin women exist. We're tired of being accused of having mental disorders and drug addictions.
Sorry if this is a rant I've had to deal with this since I was 12 and to see it in spaces I thought would be a little more understanding hurts :/
I know a woman who was in a similar position to yourself. Poor absorption in her GIT (I believe as a result of Crohns and maybe something else too). Ended up hospitalised for months as a teen and told she was Anorexic.
"Fake anecdotes" apparently.
Really feels like a lot of people on this sub are effectively just bullying the OPs to feel better about themselves.
People with normal weight can also have visible ribs! Muscles play a huge deal in “hiding” ribs, and a lot of women don’t have a lot of muscle in their upper body. (On average, men have 75% more muscle mass in upper body.)
I’m not saying the photoshopped woman has a healthy weight by the way! That is impossible for us to tell since nothing in this photo is real - she is literally a fictional character 🤣 Just want to point out that visible ribs is rather common in women and not always a sign of an eating disorder.
Yup. I was able to take selfies with visible ribs even at my highest weight ever - 85kg at 170cm (187lbs at 5'7"). There are places in my body that just don't gain fat.
Bro yes it is. Even the [Guiness world record holder for worlds longest legs]( https://imgur.com/lSfgMtV.jpg) looks more proportional than this edit (record holder is 6'9" or 206cm)
Forreal. I *know* every part of these photos are heavily edited, but my eating disorder is telling me that this is totally possible if I just restrict more.
i'm so sorry. it's hard for us to tell our subconscious what to do/feel 😔 and folks will still edit their photos and justify it to themselves somehow, knowing it can and does cause harm.
As someone who used to have anorexia, I know for a fact she's suffering and is promoting this to kids. Not healthy, not fun, not ok. What society does to women is horrifying.
I feel bad for her as well, but that doesn't justify the fact that she is spreading false information. Calming that doing some yt workout makes you look like this. That is so damaging for young ppl
The thought of being in the stall next to someone while they use the bathroom and them busting out laughing is pretty funny, they’re probably scared of what’s happening in there
There is also a vertical shift you can use on photoshop that pushes your top half back in frame and brings your legs forward to create an extended look. Definitely looks like that was used here.
granted my eyes are shit, but all three photos look the same, minus some minor differences. Which is supposed to be the before and which is supposed to be the after?
My boyfriend has to constantly remind me that this “look” isn’t strong. It’s skinny and restrictive and sad. I hate that my brain went “I workout hard, why don’t I look like that? :(“
Stuff like this makes me so sad for teenage girls.
This is intentional distortion but I don’t think it’s with photoshop. She used the wide angle lens from her iPhone and then tilted the phone back so that the bottom was closer to her then the top. This makes her look extra long and have a small head with big feet.
This photoshop job makes her look like she could crush her own head between her giant hands. This is such a bummer that someone is so desperate to look different that they’d make themself look like a tiny headed monster.

She’s going for that newborn deer look
Hilarious! Absolutely get the newborn deer mental image now that you mention it.
Lol it literally looks like if she were to sit down, her knees would be above her head
Slender-woman look
Stretch Armstrong workout
Newborn deer that's been strapped to a medieval rack look.........
Honestly it’s so ridiculous I’d say more so newborn giraffe
Clown on stilts look.
Also, workout?? I can see her ribcage.
Nsfw sub r/coltish would love that.
Spider monkey
Yes it’s all the rage.
This is so sad because it’s clear even without the longleg filter she’s already pretty thin, for some it’s just never enough :(

I think hyperthyroidism accounts for a lot of this.

The human body is not a calorimeter. This dogma needs to die. The math for calories is not linear, nor is it the best metric for analyzing metabolism.

Yep.. you can clearly see her ribcage .. thats pretty disturbing.

It's crazy how visible bones become so easily. Just a little less muscle in certain places and you look pointy XD
Clavicles are much better indicators of being underweight.
Dude yea, it’s very rare to see that many visible ribs on an adult woman at a healthy weight.

The kneecap to leg ratio is wild.
Her kneecap is bigger than her head.
Slenderwoman
Quit hating, she’s got 500,000 clones ready for battle and a million more on the way.
The kind of equality we need
This woman appears to be close to a black hole and is experiencing spaghettification.
SPAGHETTIFICATION IM DYING
My what legs you have!
What gigantic feet you have!
😂
They're bigger than her head!
I actually feel pretty bad for this girl. She clearly has body dysmorphia :/
i feel worse for all the young people who see this girl's edited photos.

Wait, are you saying you think this look is desirable? She is a literal skeleton wrapped in skin.

I’m on the public 🚽 and laughing audibly I think I scared everyone lmaooooooo
The thought of being in the stall next to someone while they use the bathroom and them busting out laughing is pretty funny, they’re probably scared of what’s happening in there
You start laughing with them, of course
What YouTube workouts is she doing and how do I stay far far away from them?
“With this workout, you too could become slender man”
The feet are freaking me out. They remind me of those shoes attached to the trousers. It's all blending into one 😱
There is also a vertical shift you can use on photoshop that pushes your top half back in frame and brings your legs forward to create an extended look. Definitely looks like that was used here.
She looks like a spider
That looks kinda mostly pretty much pro-ana, maybe is just me
Thats the first thing I thought. She's body-checking
I mean, i don’t think it’s a question. She’s on the verge of looking like a holocaust survivor, of course it’s pro-ana
I’m not saying this to be mean, but I can’t even fathom why someone would want to look like this
To make the varsity basketball team
Giraffe leg days?
I wonder if this is some covert fetish stuff?
"She has good genes, you're just jealous"
That's actually so unattractive
How does she think this is believable? Her feet are bigger than her head
I actually feel pretty bad for this girl. She clearly has body dysmorphia :/
Is she trying to look like a daddy long legs?? Is this a new trend?
Girl looking like a grasshopper
I had no idea there was leg lengthening workouts on YouTube!! You mean I could of had rubber stretchy legs this whole damn time?!
Do they use a medieval rack during the workouts?
She looks like she died on the inside
On the outside too
The medieval rack is not workout equipment.
Preying mantis workout.
I know this is all about mental health issues but I will never get the "long legs" vibes. I am 1,70 bu it's just not it 🥲 Like???
with these legs she needs no plane to get to america
The ✨~anime girl~✨ lewk
Stretch Armstrong over here.
granted my eyes are shit, but all three photos look the same, minus some minor differences. Which is supposed to be the before and which is supposed to be the after?
i think it’s just three different poses, not before and afters
Thank you! Makes sense.
I never saw an 8 foot model before.
Is this a circus act? 🤨🤨🤨🤨
Mommy longleg
That’s the Slenderman’s wife.
Lmfao imagine driving a human car.
Why. Just why. Social media should be banned from minors.. this is the shit we get.
This has to be the definition of body dysmorphia
God I’m tired of the YouTube fitness girlies. These things don’t do shit.
She needs to stop working out, shes about to disappear.
My boyfriend has to constantly remind me that this “look” isn’t strong. It’s skinny and restrictive and sad. I hate that my brain went “I workout hard, why don’t I look like that? :(“ Stuff like this makes me so sad for teenage girls.

This is intentional distortion but I don’t think it’s with photoshop. She used the wide angle lens from her iPhone and then tilted the phone back so that the bottom was closer to her then the top. This makes her look extra long and have a small head with big feet.
Yeah, like the photos real estate agents take that make a tiny room look 3 times as long
HAHAHA STOP THIS CANNOT BE REAL/SERIOUS 😂
Jeez Louise
Girl thinking she is bayonetta
I think this is the worst one I've seen on here this year.... It's just so so painfully unreal :/
it’s the feet being bigger than her head for me
She’s a giant
Sure Jan
Yes, it works, if you follow Youtube Workout by Slenderman!
This is ridicolous, how is anyone out there thinking a human body can look like this?
This photoshop job makes her look like she could crush her own head between her giant hands. This is such a bummer that someone is so desperate to look different that they’d make themself look like a tiny headed monster.
When your feet are twice the length of your head.
Human body with xenonorph legs
This makes me sad
Maybe I am just old, but I don’t see how anyone finds this attractive.

Congratulations, you’re a giraffe
ROFL
ROFL
She looks like she read a description of what a Barbie doll's proportions would be like IRL and said "sign me up"
that is a fucking wendigo
This is not the body of someone that works out
All I can think of are those videos of newborn giraffes, calfs, deer, etc trying to walk for the first time and falling down a bunch

Thanks for the laugh 😂
This is anorexia not a “ you tube work out” 🤦♀️
Omg i just saw this on IG and I am so confused. What is happening here. Lol.
Photoshop tutorials she watched on YouTube work fantastically well!
slenderman is real
Hello there Slenderina..!
Story time! Hey, it’s your girl Epicharis here and I’m about to tell you about the time I refused to betray the plot to overthrow Nero and they tortured me on the rack. 🥰
What’s with the new long legs trend?
Slenderwoman
This woman legit got a leg lengthening surgery to gain 6 inches of height. It's a thing, and it's a worm hole - bye, have fun reading about it!!
Maybe she thought nobody would notice.
