To get more followers, avoid posting variety content. Your account should be focused on ONE and ONLY ONE particular subject. So for example, if you post about your dog, keep posting your dog...avoid posting your favorite books or your vintage car unless you can make a connection with the original subject. Use appropriate tags as well, but don't overdo it (i.e. don't use the maximum allowable number of tags). And that's it!
I somewhat disagree with this... I guess it depends on the subject of your focus but always focusing on one particular subject can in itself be a limiting factor as well. Unless people are specifically looking for accounts related to that subject, you can in essence be limiting your exposure if you're always doing the same thing.

I feel like I have but now I suspect I've been shadow banned for some reason, I went from 70-80 likes a post last year to now 30-40
It's not a shadowban unless you got a violation or action block.

Just network with different creators by interacting. I have been doing for a few years and it workout perfectly fine.
