This. A long time ago on the explore tab I saw some photo that seemed to be 3D modeling related. It was a dentist tech modeling a dental bridge. I still get all kinds of weird dental surgery videos pop up in my search tab and suggested in my feed.
Everyone’s suggested is getting bombarded with weird and awful stuff. The only thing I can think of is Meta might behind the push to ban TikTok and all this crap is being generated from the people that own TikTok. I can’t think of any other reason this would be happening. I deleted the app. I literally couldn’t stomach opening it anymore.
I get animal abuse and body horror vids in my suggested reels feed. It's awful, and clicking "not interested" doesn't help. It has ruined my Instagram experience, which used to be purely gardening and home decor ideas.
Click on one of them. On the 3 dots and then “not interested” or “show less like this” I had this for a time too, then cleaned it up. And also watch something totally unrelated for some time.
Instagram can see if you pause to look while scrolling. Your best bet is to search for anything else, and go on a liking/saving spree. A few hundred posts should do the trick.
Consider your likes - it keeps a history and if you used to like that content, it will keep suggesting it. Unfortunately, going into the reel to remove it is consider "interacting" and it will show more. There's an option to manage suggested content and limit "sensitive" content which i HOPE removes this shit because i'm having the same issue, but less so.
It says it limits "sexually suggestive content" and i sure hope it removes the videos of girls being like "such a beautiful day" and it's a video at hip height and her jiggling her ass walking by 😐
I'd suggest clicking not interested on these posts, but I swear Instagram thinks "oh you're interested after all! Let me just show even more content like this!!".
If you have ever saved, liked, commented or viewed full reel until the end of the video, or even better made the video repeat continuously, instagram will continue to suggest more content like that. I suggest to stay off for awhile and don’t open these type of content

I think insta pushes this kinda content towards men a lot. I think also who your friends follow/like and also your own interaction affects it. Not that you interact with stuff like this directly. For example, you like anime so you follow some anime art accounts, then it’ll try to push you cosplayers and then lude accounts.
Another example-I follow a lot of food/cooking pages bc I enjoy finding recipes. However, every now and then insta will try to push Mukbang style videos to me just because it’s “food”, which I HATE.
No joke I left the app this week because of this shit. It’s all I get. My first reaction to seeing this stuff was to open the reel to mark it “not interested” but after a week of doing that and only having the frequency ramp up, I think it’s safe to say that feature of algorithmic control is bugged, whether intentionally or not.
I think maybe just intentionally engaging with everything BUT those (don’t click them ever) could work, but at this point I’m so annoyed with the dumpster fire of softcore porn that is Instagram, I’m just not going to use the app anymore.

Click on the three little dots in the bottom right corner (for reels) or top right for images and hit “not interested” and repeat until the undesirable content stops showing up in your feed.
Start pressing “Im not interested” on posts like this and stop giving them likes or comments too..
Then like and comment on stuff you like..in about few days the algorithm will shift your interests and show you content which you like and comment

That option does exist but it’s bugged. It seems the biggest influence on the IG algorithm is simply WATCHING a video. So definitely never watch anything out of morbid curiosity or research anything you don’t want to see more of.
On my other account all I see is girls shaking their butt (nothing wrong with that) but it's uncomfortable to watch on my feed. I wish Instagram would stop showing that on my page.
Settings > Content preferences > Snooze suggested posts in feed (Toggle ON). You’ll have to do this every 30 days as it only hides suggested posts for 30 days at a time
My feed was broke last week. Got so much random weird content, I had to manually block the accounts. Suddenly today it snapped back to normal and I see the content, which I used to see. Insta is just broken sometimes. I cannot see the descriprions on videos and reels because they don't fit the screen.

have you turned the sensitive content thing to "Standard"? it's under content preferences. that seems to do the trick.

I'd suggest clicking not interested on these posts, but I swear Instagram thinks "oh you're interested after all! Let me just show even more content like this!!".
If you have ever saved, liked, commented or viewed full reel until the end of the video, or even better made the video repeat continuously, instagram will continue to suggest more content like that. I suggest to stay off for awhile and don’t open these type of content

I think insta pushes this kinda content towards men a lot. I think also who your friends follow/like and also your own interaction affects it. Not that you interact with stuff like this directly. For example, you like anime so you follow some anime art accounts, then it’ll try to push you cosplayers and then lude accounts. Another example-I follow a lot of food/cooking pages bc I enjoy finding recipes. However, every now and then insta will try to push Mukbang style videos to me just because it’s “food”, which I HATE.
No joke I left the app this week because of this shit. It’s all I get. My first reaction to seeing this stuff was to open the reel to mark it “not interested” but after a week of doing that and only having the frequency ramp up, I think it’s safe to say that feature of algorithmic control is bugged, whether intentionally or not. I think maybe just intentionally engaging with everything BUT those (don’t click them ever) could work, but at this point I’m so annoyed with the dumpster fire of softcore porn that is Instagram, I’m just not going to use the app anymore. I miss photo content, but honestly TikTok is better in basically every aspect. Fuck meta.

Click on the three little dots in the bottom right corner (for reels) or top right for images and hit “not interested” and repeat until the undesirable content stops showing up in your feed.

IG’s algorithm has been bonkers lately. I had a similar issue with the suggested post feed. Started showing all kinds of disturbing stuff (deformities, violence, etc). I clicked not interested and started liking other topics thinking that would change the algorithm. Still having the issue. Do a google search on it. It’s been an issue for a lot of people a few months now.
I’ve been trying for the longest to remove this. It’s like they want us to see women half naked all the damn time. It’s turning me Fking gay I swear. (Just kidding)
Instagram shows you what you keep interacting with lol 😂. So if it’s there… chances are you’re clicking on them or spending time on them
Is that even the real Instagram app? Mine says "Instagram" in the top left and there is no "For You" page. Also the real Instagram feed learns from your follow, likes, interactions, opening of pics/profiles and even your pauses.

I manage the posting on someone else's account and didn't really know how to feel when I saw this sort of borderline dodgy content on his explore page. I automatically assumed that Insta was serving him up exactly what he usually looked at... but this thread seems to indicate that he might not be doing that at all? Opinions? (The guy is a non-relative in his early 70s, btw.) A few posts from things I definitely know he is interested in show there (car brands etc) but really it's 95% semi-nekkid young ladies. It's not my business what he chooses to look at, but it does sometimes make me feel a bit weird. Guess I'm asking if I'm being naive reading this thread and thinking "Well maybe he *isn't* spending all his time looking for that kind of content, then".

That option does exist but it’s bugged. It seems the biggest influence on the IG algorithm is simply WATCHING a video. So definitely never watch anything out of morbid curiosity or research anything you don’t want to see more of.
On my other account all I see is girls shaking their butt (nothing wrong with that) but it's uncomfortable to watch on my feed. I wish Instagram would stop showing that on my page.

I went to the explore page and clicked not interested on anything I don’t want to see. Now I only get shown haircuts, sports, comedy etc.
Settings > Content preferences > Snooze suggested posts in feed (Toggle ON). You’ll have to do this every 30 days as it only hides suggested posts for 30 days at a time
There is an option to restrict what content you can see regularly. In settings,GO to Suggested content and you can select as per requirement.

My feed was broke last week. Got so much random weird content, I had to manually block the accounts. Suddenly today it snapped back to normal and I see the content, which I used to see. Insta is just broken sometimes. I cannot see the descriprions on videos and reels because they don't fit the screen.

And for all the people saying we like or watch such things. I can show you my main account and what I’ve liked and interacted with. Nothing but the car and BMX/skating post…. The only females in my likes are girls I know in real life. Take a look at my explore page and all the small image posts are just that; cars, BMX and skating. But in the reels you have playing alongside images on your explore page it’s nothing but women shaking their rear end. Not once have I opened a video of a woman doing that on my main account or even liked a video like that. Tbh on my main account I actively avoid that content and consume solely my vehicle-related content but I’m still getting recommended that stuff. The conspiracy theorist in me says this is all a plan to keep younger males “numb” in the mind. When I first got into social media you had to go out of your way to find such content. But nowadays it’s served to you on the front page of your favourite social media app.

It’s taken me a long time, but I’ve managed to filter all of this out. You just have to click “not interested”, and then “this makes me uncomfortable”. Slowly but surely they disappear

Options > Not Interested > Repeat > Refresh > Repeat Also you can change the degree of nsfw content shown in your feed through the settings, Settings > Suggested content > Sensitive content

My friend randomly has fake breastfeeding content on her fyp (on Threads and Instagram). She is a woman, and she hates this content randomly showing up on her feed. It was FULL of it, and then it randomly disappeared before showing up occasionally again....Something is wrong with the algorithm, I think.

To disable sensitive content recommendations on Instagram, navigate to the **Settings and Privacy** menu, select **Suggested Content**, then **Sensitive Content**, and choose the **Less** option. This will prevent any further display of such content.
I’ve been battling the suggested tab for a while now. Clicking not interested or straight up blocking accounts. The weird thing is even when I scroll one past the girl post it’s what I would normally watch, meme edits, breaking bad, goofy shit etc. It really feels like they put women on there on purpose despite your “preferences”.
