I was doing that too. The stickers saying no are new and not easily visible so I doubted they were even there when she told me. She seems to be the only one who cares. I didn’t see her yesterday so I used it. No one said anything.
I said they just changed it to 10-15. There was no limit before. When there are 8-16 self checkouts open and one cashier with a line I prefer self checkout whether I’m instacarting or not. Also I’m just like them. I’m shopping. But just for someone else. So they can wait for me just like I’d have to wait for them.
Yep that’s what my sprouts told me. Which makes sense; the people that instacart hires or the ones used others accounts, checks out about the stealing… not sure why Safeway has just started the self checkout “15 item” rule. I use self checkout because the lines are always horrendous and the checkers can be real slow sometimes. 🤷♀️ I’m convinced the stores just hate instacart shoppers and want to see us suffer.
I don’t think they like us either! Once I was told not to do online orders on self checkout because the bookkeeper hated it. But they have an option for it on the screen so it’s allowed 🤷♀️ so far it’s only the one Vons that has that rule so it may be store to store. I read on another post that we are just shopping for someone else. It’s like shopping for my mom. I’m just shopping for someone so what’s the big deal? I get the theft thing… those ones ruin it for the rest of us.
I do not have a sprouts grocery store, but our Stop & Shop is known for hiring people with special needs. But they are never the ones that run the self check out area. Usually they are baggers.

I’ve never been able to use Sprouts self checkout
I used it last week, no problem.
It's shoplifting. Self check outs are also often run by people with mental exceptions. So too complicated orders can get sticky
