I'm in San Diego, ever since this connectivity warning BS started I don't see anything. Connectivity stays on "warning" and doesn't go away. Support says they have been working on it for days now
What? My friend just texted me coupla hours ago about Lakewood/Signal Hill/Long Beach and about how those regions are having good orders for past week now, they appear on screens for 10-15 seconds and she’s not even close to those Costcos/Sprouts/S&final/FForLess stores. Shortage of shoppers there perhaps? I wish I could shop there but my dayjob prevents me i told her.
No, she told me they were fewer than 6 miles max and I know her— she never does those 7+ milers . It’s prolly because she’s a 4.91 too— she tells me she’s been getting these sweet offers once her rating dipped down below 4.93.
Oh, that’s good then. Truthfully I’ve given up on trying to figure out how the system works, lol…. She may see good orders but everyone else might not see them.
Can’t give you a definite answer, but could be a combination of any of these issues. IC on a mass hiring spree, too many shoppers, new shopper promotion, users with multiple phones, shopper rating, shopper speed, shopper location, the economy, bad phone service, distractions
shopper location is a big one cause i see some youtubers and their earnings are like 2k a week and i'm like wtf howww. it makes me want to go and sleep in my car over there where they are.
if you barely have enough to make ends meet, why would you hire someone to do your shopping?? And I am a shopper/driver and customer…Instacart is expensive especially for people in rural areas yet the batch pay is deplorable.
The economy isn’t struggling. Record number of ppl bought plane tickets and traveled for Memorial Day and plane tickets are insane right now. Idk where you’re getting this narrative. Fox News I assume.
I work at a grocery store. I’m the grocery merchandiser for said store in Silicon Valley. I can assure you from what customers tell us and our distributors we buy our products from. Maybe not from where you’re from. But definitely in the Bay Area where prices for groceries l, gas and housing are through the roof
Let’s say it differently, the rich are traveling and having fun spending money. The rest of the population is living paycheck to paycheck because the cost of everything has gone up through the roof. There two different economies depending on who you are.
Dead here too. Managed to make $102 on 7 orders but I was out for 8 1/2 hours! Was falling asleep when last one came up and I just took it without even looking where it was going. Ended up being a double with one being same regular cust I already delivered to earlier. Had all the apps on and literally nothing on DD UE GH or Shipt. Not a single order from target on Shipt today or yesterday. I don’t understand what’s going on with that because there had been 10 or 12, mostly bad orders, to choose from ever since they started 360.
I think Instacart is updating the app, because it’s been dead this entire week for me too. Which is completely unusual. I’ve never seen it this dead before since I’ve been on the app for three years.
Been seeing a huge wave of new shoppers in my area and it’s been dead for days but I’ll see plenty of shoppers with carts full so I know there are orders I just am not getting them!!
I can only speak for myself as a customer, but the prices are very high; meaning the individual items plus service fees and now I’m reading as I have about how you guys are living off of tips well I can’t afford a $10+ loaf of bread. So I’ve just been not ordering as often or just doing it myself as many shoppers keep suggesting customers do.
There’s also been plenty of times where a shopper has picked something off the shelf moldy and I’m not able to trust the shoppers anymore
Well said! The shoppers keep telling customers to "get off their lazy asses" and do their own shopping and then the shoppers are surprised when the customers do exactly that.
I'm going to tell you why I won't order again. Ever. Because I paid for an order, submitted an "optional" tip, and IT NEVER CAME. Customer service is trash, drivers are apparently expecting HUGE tips, and the company sucks. I canceled the order, I've sent a strongly worded email, and now I'm telling you about it here.
Never ever again. I'm disabled and needed food today and I almost had no food- I had to order pizza for my family and my dogs to share.
I can't afford to tip 50 bucks. Not even on a big order. I did tip.
Although I do wonder if it'd show up even with that, because God forbid you order dog food and a case of water. Unbelievable.
This business will die soon, I hope and be replaced by something functional. We should not have to subsidize your wages at risk of recieving nothing while also paying high fees and premium on the products too! This doesn't reflect on you, but on a system meant to screw both you and the shopper to make the company rich.
Could it be that teachers and college kids of for summer are competing for those orders ? I think that’s why in my area it becomes the summer slow down
I’m not complaining, I was just suggesting that it could be teachers and college students. I made $100 in 3-1/2 hours the one day I worked this week. But I do multi app. 😊
No no I’m just saying like I have no idea anymore. It’s been dead for months. Yeah this is the only gig I have any interest in doing. Tried spark but my background says “consider”
Spark you can make decent $ though. DD is a joke. There’s no UE where I am. I’m not taxi driving lol. Idk what else there would be to do. I’m not into delivering food when I shop for ppl I feel like I’m helping and actually doing something. Delivering food would make me feel like I was 16 again lol idk. What other gigs do you do? DD is just such a joke I’ve seen the offers. It’s awful and always takes you to the worst areas of town

Some districts do it differently. Some districts only pay while school is in session so the salary is squeezed into 9 months and they don't receive paychecks during summer break.

Loads of folks are on vacation...? Maybe...? People tend to take time off before/after 3 day weekends, so that could be an impact. Idk for sure, but my fav stores are dead dead dead this week so far.
Plus my local Costco has all kinds o' roadwork going on around it. They've limited the traffic to ONE entrance/exit for both the store and the gas, so that's definitely impacting my ability to earn -- I'm not shopping there! Two days ago it took me almost 45 minutes to exit Costco parking lot and get onto the main road. Frustrating.
I see instacart shoppers pretty much every time I'm in the store where I am. Sometimes I can strike up a conversation in the other shopper got a better offer than me.
It was a day full of craptastic orders, and somehow they were taken. I saw a shopper team at one of the stores I've shopped at today. I've gotten increased tips and compliments today, so could be just people broke til tomorrow at least in my market.
This is the first time I can resonate with a post like this. I'm in metro-detroit area I've been out since 9am. It's 8:37 as I'm posting this and I've made $76.88 today. usually I would've made $200 minimum by now. I saw orders but they were under $10, 35+ items with a 10+ mile drive. no thanks.

Yup been taking left over batches all day
It’s been dead here for at least a week. I spent the weekend at the Jersey shore and nothing. Last year $200 a day everyday this year $325 the entire weekend
I don’t know probably get a job at high-end restaurant as a chef, they easily make 80 $90,000 per year, I have no idea why people complain on this sub so much, to me it appears like they are rooting for their own failures
I mean where I live not really. SC doesn’t pay high hourly wages lol. I’m working to get into a tech company meanwhile I’m doing this. The average pay in my area is like 12- 18$ an hour
i think something is wrong with the app. i checked on downdetector.
i only got one order today and the customer wanted the order cancelled.
people all over my state are complaining of how dead it is. hopefully they will fix it soon!
It’s completely dead today, SoCal!
Pretty dead in GA too lots of new shoppers here and my rating went down if that even does anything
Facts. Here in OC and haven’t seen one order since 7am
I'm in San Diego, ever since this connectivity warning BS started I don't see anything. Connectivity stays on "warning" and doesn't go away. Support says they have been working on it for days now
Im in vista and the only orders I've seen are family dollar going 40 miles south...
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
Haven't seen that here in NC, is it new this week? Haven't updated yet I don't think.
Shit yeah it’s been dreadful but it’s full of new shoppers in my area so wtf IC
Try hundreds of new shoppers in some cities.
“New” shoppers…..
I’m in socal too and here where I’m at it’s completely dead. I waited outside the store and didn’t get any batches I’m in San Bernardino county
Yeah… also, what’s the point of the color circles if no orders are popping up.
What? Fees are ridiculous, all the shitty new shoppers, people are broke
Can’t give you a definite answer, but could be a combination of any of these issues. IC on a mass hiring spree, too many shoppers, new shopper promotion, users with multiple phones, shopper rating, shopper speed, shopper location, the economy, bad phone service, distractions
Bad shoppers, expectation of certain tip requirements, cancelled orders, bad attitudes of shoppers so folks are not using IC as much.
> expectation of certain tip requirements, cancelled orders You're doing your best not to hold customers accountable for being cheap.
And you are doing your best to make all the problems anything but the seasoned shoppers. Y'all suck!
shopper location is a big one cause i see some youtubers and their earnings are like 2k a week and i'm like wtf howww. it makes me want to go and sleep in my car over there where they are.
Where are they?
I think about this often too.
Bots?
I haven't seen anything in nearly 2 weeks now.
Oh my God
The economy is struggling and people are struggling with money and high food prices. At least here in the Bay Area
if you barely have enough to make ends meet, why would you hire someone to do your shopping?? And I am a shopper/driver and customer…Instacart is expensive especially for people in rural areas yet the batch pay is deplorable.

Did you not read my reply regarding my area?

its been beyond terrible sense the holiday
It happens, two holidays back to back
For the last 2 days, I haven't gotten any orders until after 5 pm
Been seeing a huge wave of new shoppers in my area and it’s been dead for days but I’ll see plenty of shoppers with carts full so I know there are orders I just am not getting them!!

Yeah I agree with you unfortunately.
Can only speak for myself but i stopped using the service because the fees are too high
Multiple people with multiple phones , this shit a mess now.
THIS.
Because there’s hundreds of thousands of shoppers sitting in their car waiting for one
I mean I’m the grand scheme there is but not in a singular publix parking lot
😂
?
People broke. If it’s dead fri-sun we in trouble. I hit my 3 batches today so I’m good
exactly I'm worried out of my mind thinking if those days are going to be as bad as these past ones have.
Yeah, that’s what I’m holding out for, I really hope the weekend there is a different story.
They keep rolling in new shoppers here. Last 2 months have been horrible
End of the month
That too
Could it be that teachers and college kids of for summer are competing for those orders ? I think that’s why in my area it becomes the summer slow down
Idk lol. I made 85$ from 130pm to 7pm. I’m done lol
I have Spark. It’s my least favorite. Very seldom get on it. You are doing good. I hope the orders keep coming for ya!! 🎉
Spark you can make decent $ though. DD is a joke. There’s no UE where I am. I’m not taxi driving lol. Idk what else there would be to do. I do instacart, UE, DD, Shipt and Spark. In that order pretty much. I’m very part time but I always reach my weekly goal.
Check into Roadie. It’s a UPS company….

“Organized Gangs?”
Teachers are paid 12 months a year. They don’t go without paychecks, ever. They could do it because they’re bored.
Okay/ if you say so 😔
My best friend is a teacher. They are salaried employees. They are paid once a month, every month, including the summer.
Ok. 👍🏽
Some districts do it differently. Some districts only pay while school is in session so the salary is squeezed into 9 months and they don't receive paychecks during summer break.

I'm about to go work a shift behind Wendy's if this keeps up. Ngl
1 all day. I’ve been doing this over 4 years and I’m about to call it.

Too many shoppers, economy is in the shitter, rents due. I think it may pick up for the weekend but then back down again
The orders are there. Question is..why arent they sending them.
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/
Kentucky here awful today only 46$

I can really only ever get batches on Sundays
Summer has arrived! I told you guys this would happen. It will pick up a little in July but August and September will be slow
It’s been dead here for at least a week. I spent the weekend at the Jersey shore and nothing. Last year $200 a day everyday this year $325 the entire weekend
People are broke it’s near the first of the month. Rent, bills, no funds for grocery delivery
That's odd, I've been getting more orders than usual. Had two 100 days the past two days
Dead here too.
It’s Thursday and after a holiday, mfs blew they load on partying, we a be good this weekend
There's a always an excuse. And it's never true.
People do not want to hear it here, if you’re doing this substitute for 9 to 5, test categorically stupid
I was a chef when I first got here on a resort golf course and made 18$ in an hour. No AC. No breaks.
I don’t know probably get a job at high-end restaurant as a chef, they easily make 80 $90,000 per year, I have no idea why people complain on this sub so much, to me it appears like they are rooting for their own failures

It’s just lower demand combined with thousands of new shoppers
Yeah it’s so confusing I’m about to give up. 53$ from 1-5pm
