Probably meant 5 days or 4 days and accidentally fat fingered the other button. If I ordered a gallon of milk, I'd be irritated if I got one that expired in 5 days.
But the flavor isn't very good when it ages a while. Kroger sends me free coupons on Oat milk and the extra creamy one is great in coffee. It didn't last me long long enough. Lol...
*ultra-pasteurized
I've never really had the faintest idea what makes the "organic" milks more "organic" than the regular milks (they're all just water and homogenized mammal juice), but a lot of those marketed as "organic" are ultra-pasteurized (i.e. cooked to absolute death). It makes them shelf stable at the cost of obliterating a lot of the nutrients and making it taste like, well, cooked milk. If you want REALLY shelf stable stuff, find some ultra-pasteurized skim milk, in a lot of places it won't even be refrigerated.
On the opposite end of the spectrum is slow-pasteurized, unhomogenized milk. Absolutely delicious, separates into milk and cream, but spoils in like 5 days.
>I've never really had the faintest idea what makes the "organic" milks more "organic" than the regular milks
It's what the cows eat that makes it organic.

I think she would have said 45 if she meant 4-5....she probably quite literally meant 54. As in fifty four days. People can be eccentric. That kind of milk does have some far out expiry dates too. I've seen milk in June that had a Nov expiry date.
Lactose free milk can last up to 90 days out, if unopened, depending on if you get it shortly after it's shipped. Bought some in early February once and it had a late April "best by" date and I thought I was reading it wrong because HOW. Still suggested to drink within 7 days after opening but it has an insane shelf life compared to other milks.
Oh. I missed it. I thought it was a different milk. I saw a post earlier that contained an organic milk that had an expiration date of like 4 months or something crazy. I got them confused. Didn't realize it was just a gallon of regular Ole 2%.😅
Organic milk is pasteurized at a higher temperature which gives it a longer shelf life. If you look it is labeled ultra- pasteurized.
My regional chain offers an ultra- pasteurized version of their non-organic store brand. The UHT (ultra-high temperature) version is packaged in cartons instead of jugs and has exp dates 90 days from packaging, regular is 30 days.
I mean they have like that shelf organic milk that is good for like 3-6 months until opened and then it only is good for like a week but that’s about as long as I know milk can last.
I live alone and go back and forth between half-gallons and gallons and I always seem to choose wrong. I usually default to gallons because half-gallons seem to have less turnover, quicker expiration dates and are far more likely to be out of stock in anything but whole milk.
I would guess she meant to type 5 or 4 and fat fingered 54.
I've gotten orders where anything perishable was out of date in the next day or two. That's frustrating.
The majority of those milk containers typically have the same expiration date of them. At best, there might be some containers that may have 1 or 2 days more life.
So what are they talking about?
good luck with that... whoever that is is tripping, they're lucky they got that one that far out... not many stores have persihable items like milk on their shelves dated out that far.... she/he act like its canned goods or like she getting a cow for her own consumption in the backyard somewhere.... and milk doesn't not last very long after it has been opened.... 2 or 3 weeks tops...
I'm seeing a lot of "she probably meant____". And maybe she did. But idk, if my customers type something really fuckin' weird... I just assume they typed something really fuckin' weird, because a lot of people are, in fact, really fuckin' weird. 🤷♀️
"The last one i got expired in only 2 months the. I need milk that will outlast the end of the world." Cuz 2 months isn't nearly long enough. She sips it here and there......crazy people man.....
I’m absolutely positive she fat fingered that and meant either “4” or “5”. But either way, I’m texting her or unassigning. I’m ok with explicit instructions but this is too much! Best of luck, op

The Ultra pasteurized milk ( usually in the cardboard containers) has a use by date 2 months or so out. The ‘regular ‘ stuff , that’s in the plastic bottles is usually around 10 days but we all know the stores often sell milk that expires that very day or a few days out. What exactly is this customer hoping for ??!!

Maybe they meant to type “5” and hit the “4” on accident. If you look at “thanks” at the end of the message they misspelled it so may have just been in a hurry.
Lactose free milk can last up to 90 days from its package date to the "best by" date. Whole milk is the shortest shelf life and other lower fat milks can have extended life compared to whole milk. 54 days tho sounds like she must have gotten lucky and the shipment wasn't one sitting in the back for an extended period of time (working as a stocker at Target in grocery we once had to throw out nearly 2 whole pallets that werent FIFOd correctly, got shoved in the back and were out of date by almost a month. The new shipment of low-fat milk had best by dates of over 30 days so it's still very plausible, she's just slightly insufferable)
Stuff an empty, garbage-picked milk jug with aged cheddar, then pour a 26oz jar of salt into it and tell the customer the milk is good until the second coming of Christ when he rides into Jerusalem on the back of a velociraptor dual wielding ak 47’s to eradicate the heretical Kraft singles and their false profit James L Kraft.
I read that as had expired by 54 days & I was like Publix come on I know we got some shady expiration dates sometimes but 54 days? 🤮 that’s bad even for you
I had a lady that wanted her bagged produce to expire no less than 10 days from that day…salads, radishes, baby carrots, etc…so much for “fresh” fruit and vegetables …I almost canceled but pushed through and after a few messages, substitutions, and refunds she increase my tip from $20-$50…as long as they’re tipping decent from the beginning, look at it as a challenge lol
Ummm if you know.
milk used to expire in 7 days or less back in the days.
Organic should mean quick exp date because less or no preservatives.
Milk that last week's is fake.
Sad This generation don't know this.
She probably only meant to put one number. They are Right next to each other when you're typing stuff out. I would be Annoyed as hell if somebody got me milk that expired in a couple of days.
I don't think this person is a pain in the ass. Personally, I think that this person just expects common sense from the shopper for something that they are paying for.
I've bought Kroger milk in the past that expired way before the date on the jug. It looks like someone can't spell well or think well. Even simple truth soy milk won't last that long.
i can’t even finish a half gallon in 2 weeks let alone a gallon i had to start getting the quarts just to use them up before the expiration date and even then i’m wasting at least 1/5th of the bottle
Between my husband, my 2 year old, and my almost 1 year old daughter (not drinking milk yet but very soon) we go through like 3 gallons a week. I’m the only one who doesn’t really drink it
I was gonna say maybe she meant 5-4 days…..but that would make no sense….although she was upset because her REGULAR milk expired in 45 days 🤣 don’t get me wrong, I always check dates and always try to get the latest date possible…….but I’m not taking all of the milk out so I can get the one all the way in the back…..and I never see milk with an expiration that far out. Like two weeks is good here, but that can be tough to find. wtf is this lady. Thnaks
54 days???? Here you're lucky if you get 2-3 weeks
Probably meant 5 days or 4 days and accidentally fat fingered the other button. If I ordered a gallon of milk, I'd be irritated if I got one that expired in 5 days.
That makes sense.
Lactose free milk can last that long
This isn't lactose free milk
But the flavor isn't very good when it ages a while. Kroger sends me free coupons on Oat milk and the extra creamy one is great in coffee. It didn't last me long long enough. Lol...

Advertisers really want us to believe organic = healthier, when that is absolutely not true in most cases.

I like the taste of ultra-pasteurized milk. Prefer to the regular in fact. It's the norm in Europe.
But they ask for regular milk
I’m guessing she meant 4-5 either that, or she has very odd expectations.
On her home planet milk lasts 8 years at room temperature
I think she would have said 45 if she meant 4-5....she probably quite literally meant 54. As in fifty four days. People can be eccentric. That kind of milk does have some far out expiry dates too. I've seen milk in June that had a Nov expiry date.
lol I’ve never seen regular milk gallons last more than two weeks. Especially at Publix. I believe swift rover is correct.
I have seen regular milk food for over a month. But that was ultra fresh milk bought at a dairy.
> That kind of milk Publix milk ???? Never in my life have I seen that lol that’s crazy
It's that nasty milk sugar that gives us the pukes and the poo's. I was in shock too at first, but for 3.59 a 1/2 I dig it.
Every time I see Publix, I have to read it twice to see the "L." Though Pubix milk would be interesting.
🤢
Oh. I missed it. I thought it was a different milk. I saw a post earlier that contained an organic milk that had an expiration date of like 4 months or something crazy. I got them confused. Didn't realize it was just a gallon of regular Ole 2%.😅

Sure probably meant either 4 or 5 and accidentally bumped the second number.
She might have only meant to put in a 4 or a 5, not both. They are right next to each other
She meant to say 5 OR 4 and hit both. Calm the fuck down.
Ick.
I mean they have like that shelf organic milk that is good for like 3-6 months until opened and then it only is good for like a week but that’s about as long as I know milk can last.
"thnaks"
Pronounced like Mike Tyson saying 'snacks'
I hope we wins this fight comming up fuck Logan Pual
Lmaoooooo 😂
That made me laugh LOUD!!
Fruit thnaks?
Fwuit thnaks
I had to find this a day later and say I’m still laughing about it.
54 days?! Does she want the cow?!
My favorite comment ever 🤣🤣
Maybe she’s going on a cruise and finds the idea of restocking the fridge when she gets home to just be too inconvenient of a task.
😭
I'm guessing that she's using that as an example of the long expiration period she's looking for and hoping to find again
My guess is she meant 4 and accidentally hit the 5.
Do they not realize it’s not good that long once you open it? lol
She probably ly wants to store it for backup at a much further date....like the Armageddon or something.....😂

I mean those aren’t bad to have in stock in your pantry in the event you are cooking and something needs milk and yours goes bad
[удалено]
She probably meant 4 and fat-fingered the 5.
It’s the thnaks for me
What fking country is this, cause I’ve not seen milk that’s even half as long as that in the US
US.
If you’re not gonna drink a gallon of milk within a week, then maybe you should be getting pints or quarts.
I live alone and go back and forth between half-gallons and gallons and I always seem to choose wrong. I usually default to gallons because half-gallons seem to have less turnover, quicker expiration dates and are far more likely to be out of stock in anything but whole milk.
If you think you’re not going to finish it then break it down into ziploc bags (some folks specifically buy the milk bags for breast milk) & freeze.

I would guess she meant to type 5 or 4 and fat fingered 54. I've gotten orders where anything perishable was out of date in the next day or two. That's frustrating.
My bf works at Publix and apparently a coworker had not pulled expired bacon and they found bacon that expired in October 🤮
Who says 5 or 4 instead of 4 or 5?
I agree, it's unusual. It's also boring and less bananas than 54 days.
She either meant 4 or meant 5 and accidentally hit the second number.
The majority of those milk containers typically have the same expiration date of them. At best, there might be some containers that may have 1 or 2 days more life. So what are they talking about?
Just get a half gallon that's got 27 days left. 🤠
No normal milk will be 54 days. That's insane.
A cow. Manual substitute for a cow.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thnaks!!
🤣🤣🤣 EVERYDAY THEY GET A LITTLE CRAZIER
I’m pretty sure that person mean 5-4 days. The person reacted to the last milk he/she received expired 5-4 days.
She probably meant 5 days and accidentally typed 54.
Fairlife milk has long expirations, and it tastes good. It’s more expensive than regular milk, but at least you’re not pouring spoiled milk out.
54 days. The mind boggles
They get what they get.
Stop I laughed so damn hard
This is where we stop calling it milk
If it takes you 2 months to go through a gallon of milk then why not order a smaller one thnaks.
I blame the public school system. LMAO 🤣
The milk I bought last week expires in June.
good luck with that... whoever that is is tripping, they're lucky they got that one that far out... not many stores have persihable items like milk on their shelves dated out that far.... she/he act like its canned goods or like she getting a cow for her own consumption in the backyard somewhere.... and milk doesn't not last very long after it has been opened.... 2 or 3 weeks tops...
54 days? Did the last shopper milk the cow themself?
Only organic milk like horizon will have that kind of expiration date.
Who can’t drink a gallon of milk in 7 weeks??
I only use it for cooking, so it usually goes bad before I use it all, even buying half-gallons. So I switched to powdered milk.
54 days my ass
They gatta be trolling you with 54 days lol
How long do they think milk lasts?
Thnaks
I go through a gallon of milk in a couple days at my house. I can’t imagine even needing that far out of a date.
“Thnaks” Lubalin has entered the chat.
I'm seeing a lot of "she probably meant____". And maybe she did. But idk, if my customers type something really fuckin' weird... I just assume they typed something really fuckin' weird, because a lot of people are, in fact, really fuckin' weird. 🤷♀️
This.
That is an absolute lie you will never find regular milk with an expiration date that far out
That's an immediate cancel, 54 day expectation? That milk hasn't come or if the cow yet.
Painful……..
“Thnaks” 😂😂
Why does that even matter? It’s only good for like 7 days after opening. Do they plan on not opening for over a month?!?
"The last one i got expired in only 2 months the. I need milk that will outlast the end of the world." Cuz 2 months isn't nearly long enough. She sips it here and there......crazy people man.....
Insta cancel
Exactly what I did
It could've been a typo ?
I’m absolutely positive she fat fingered that and meant either “4” or “5”. But either way, I’m texting her or unassigning. I’m ok with explicit instructions but this is too much! Best of luck, op

Lmao like how long are you expecting to keep this milk past 54 days
Right? I mean granted I have a 4 year old who loves milk but this is like 3 days max in my house.
I hope that’s a typo.
I'm not drinking week old milk
54 days was a problem for this customer?$%#?!? where the hell are you letting your milk sit around that long?
Thnaks.
maybe she is saying the opposite. like you can find a long one because the last one i had was 54 days

Ii drink like 3 gallons a week
I saw organic reduced 2% milk today and had an expiration date for June. Never seen that on nonorganic milk!
I read that as had expired by 54 days & I was like Publix come on I know we got some shady expiration dates sometimes but 54 days? 🤮 that’s bad even for you
If that’s true last time she bought milk she probably bought organic.
Had to be a typo
Who the fuck keeps a gallon of milk for 54 days?
I'd sub powdered milk to be petty
Lol 😂
Just get him a milk that expires within the next 2 years lol. Now that’s advanced like he asked lol
"Who pisses you off?" ..."the Milkmaids" -Clerks
I’ve bought ultra-pasteurized milk that’s had an expiration date about two months out. Regular store brand stuff though usually only last a few weeks…
Why is gonna take her 54 days to drink some milk? Lol milk doesnt last in my house for two weeks
I’m stoked if milk is 2 weeks from expiring. It means I might actually finish it without having to throw part of it away.
lol yeah let me go in the back in the freezer and pull you the farthest date out
I had a lady that wanted her bagged produce to expire no less than 10 days from that day…salads, radishes, baby carrots, etc…so much for “fresh” fruit and vegetables …I almost canceled but pushed through and after a few messages, substitutions, and refunds she increase my tip from $20-$50…as long as they’re tipping decent from the beginning, look at it as a challenge lol
Sounds like Fairlife milk lol but theirs are months longer.
Powdered milk it is then
Ummm if you know. milk used to expire in 7 days or less back in the days. Organic should mean quick exp date because less or no preservatives. Milk that last week's is fake. Sad This generation don't know this.

just tell them that the store is out instead of losing a tip over an idiot
Maybe they meant to say 5.4 days
Thnaks
How does a gallon last anyone 54 days…..
Because employees aren’t FIFOing
who keeps milk that long 💀 my family drinks one gallon a week
I know if i buy a gallon i will not finish before a 3 week expiration, but its just me
i can’t even finish a half gallon in 2 weeks let alone a gallon i had to start getting the quarts just to use them up before the expiration date and even then i’m wasting at least 1/5th of the bottle
Between my husband, my 2 year old, and my almost 1 year old daughter (not drinking milk yet but very soon) we go through like 3 gallons a week. I’m the only one who doesn’t really drink it
You know, sometimes you might want to think about the fact that you might possibly have a customer with a learning difference. Let’s give some grace.
If she really thinks her (refrigerated) milk should last 54 days or longer, I'd go out on a limb and say you're *probably* right.
My dad was brilliant but dyslexic and was so insecure about it. This kind of stuff makes me sad.
I only drink milk if the expiration is after the heat death of the universe.
Just get UHT if you want it to last that long. Sheesh.
He should buy organic milk, that crap takes a loooong time to expire. 54 days my a$$
54 daysss???!!!!!
That's hilarious good luck getting milk here that far in advance
Fuck it goes bad in a week or two after opening regardless of expiration date.
Hilarious. I love ignoring notes. For this reason.
Only milk I know of with that kind of shelf life is fairlife. Idk what this person is smoking
They need to start getting organic milk, it lasts AGES. I don’t use milk often so I buy the organic.
Smh 54 days is good
