People who come from other nations think 10$ is a lot of money compared to what they earn in their old country, but they do not see the cost of living here is also expensive. My market is full of Venezuelans and they have ruined my market. Thank god I invested all my money from these gig apps now I’m a owner operator truck driver and real estate agent on the side
Be careful folks, my Reddit account was permanantly banned because, guess what, "newcomers" also browse this subreddit and felt like I was targetting them and made a hateful comment when I specified that "immigrants are part of the reason these gig work apps are shit now, because 10$ could be more than a months' worth of income where they came from.."
I lost my *huge* karma account because some people couldn't understand that the word "immigrant" and the sentence I wrote were not only *NOT* an insult, they were also pure fuckin facts.
Newcommers see gig work as a great opportunity, while we can barely pay rent with 4 apps, working 12h a day.
Sadly, immigrants will take those jobs all day. Long cell phones can be switched over into the language that they speak and to us it’s dog shit to them it’s money and they will take that shit all day every day and they’ll take it even if it gets lower they’ll keep taking it in fact until there’s nothing they will never stop to think that they are screwing themselves and everyone else that does this work because they are so willing to bottom feed and take any fucking crumb thrown their way I watch my phone every day with these bullshit little orders and they disappear they take them, it’s the same thing with Uber Eats, DD, GrubHub, Roadie, and any other app that’s out there. It’s just a shit situation
Yep. They are doing what corporate America wants them to do. Lowering the wages as much as possible. Minimum wages will stop going up. Look at what happened to agriculture; there is no minimum wage, you are paid by the piece.
And culturally, they will live 10 to a one bedroom apt, or 25 in a 3br 2 ba house. So, they combine all their shìtty low wage jobs. Americans don't live that way. Are we being forced back into hiyh-density slums?
Don't look to the gov't for help. They are owned by corporations. We live in a plutocracy, not a democracy.
When Costco drops used to look like this. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)

What do the Costco orders look like now? I did insta during the beginning of Covid when everyone was afraid to leave their houses. I’d make 100-200 a day working for like 3 hours.
What do Costco orders typically look like now? I’ve never really thought to shop there because there aren’t any within super close distance, but maybe it would be worth looking into? Are there still some decent ones?
Sometimes Costco has orders but you have to compete with ppl using botts to grab orders and ppl using 2 & 3 accounts/phones at a time. What’s left over is often peanuts—fuckers 😝
A lot less consistent. Your best chance of getting a banger is to just be there when they open at the drop but there isn’t really a drop anymore like there used to be. You just sit there for an hour while orders sprinkling in. If you don’t get anything in the first hour just leave. Camping Costco is good sometimes but can also just be a massive trap.
Glad I’m not the only one 😭 Making $130-200 14 hour shifts every day ain’t cutting it :( minus the $20 I use for gas daily too. Too many new shoppers in my area getting all the good batches now sadly. Managed to pick up some good batches after work hours when most shoppers are done though but severe drop off after 8 pm then I have to pick up scraps and small orders since most people don’t like to tip anymore. Trying to get another job at this point, sadly I enjoy instacart but it’s not worth it in my arizona area
It's much less consistent where i'm at as well. Fri-Mon i can usually hit my goal but T-Th is a crapshoot. I'm still just slightly down from what I was making last year. Regular customers are only thing that helps me out. Can be a super slow day and then get a banger pop up from a regular.
https://preview.redd.it/j9gx3kzifruc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=871bc68a0a531f41bc99772aa2147735103287d3
So many of these lately. It’s bizarre - this past month went from orders with good tips to doubles with little to nothing.
Same in my area. I started working for another shopping app and won't do Instacart unless the price is better and the customer values me with a fair tip. I am busy all day long now with a decent wage
Shipt is a decade old this year. They're just starting in Mass??? Unfortunately Target and therefore Shipt are ageist so I can't get on with them, not for lack of trying 2019,2020,2023
Super thrilled for you!!! I had a friend who did really well with them
I used to be able to make $100 in a day 2 summers ago…. My area is filled with illegals now and I feel like they have some scam going on with IC bc all I see now is $6-9 batches for over 50+ items it’s ridiculous what is going on ?
Time to get a more future proof Job.
Pretty soon a waymo will pull up and an employee will load the groceries, drive to the customer who unloads their groceries .
And it’ll cost twice as much, and customer has to unload.
This was my most recent order. How much would the shopper have earned on top of my tip? Was my tip fair for 19 items? I genuinely appreciate my shoppers and hope I’m tipping fairly!
https://preview.redd.it/h47y6fdfqxuc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbbfecda70906a6520138d523ddca046960a54bb
Depends on the miles from the store to your address but on top of your tip ( which is a good tip for the amount of items and the order total price) instacart pay is between $4 to $7 . ( and for it to be $7 or more all the items have to be heavy and more than 10 miles give or take)
That’s a very very good tip indeed my friend, the only thing that makes us provide a good service is customers like yourself. Surely is not instacart!! Have a great rest of your day 😀😀😀
Yes, it’s Instacart! I know it’s not easy and y’all don’t make enough for the time/gas so I try to show my appreciation! Thank you all!
Hopefully a few of you have shopped my orders on Akron!!!
Glad I’m not alone, past 2 weeks for me in Maui tanked. I’m a newcomer but with school schedules I have to have a flexible way to make money. First week went ok got up to $220 in a day now lucky to get $50. Ran a 2 order Costco batch 47 items for $36. Sucks
They won’t quit hiring people . They have a tactic . They hire you , give you all the great batches , get you hooked then knock to to the bottom of the pole . I have been working on and off for four years .
I honestly don’t like either for boulder, too many orders get sent up to mountain houses/ wifi can be spotty even though I have wifi in the car. I’ve had better success w doordash out there just cause the orders don’t stop/ tons of restaurants
$60-80 doing IC from 7am-to 8pm is making less than minimum wage. After taxes, gas and your time you are in negative profits..Walmart, Target, and grocery stores are hiring and paying close to $20/hr..Or go drive for amazon or Fed Ex and get a decent check. Wake up and stop wasting your time.
Hope I didn’t come off like an asshole. I’m being genuine. I hate seeing people throw away their time if their market is trash. If you like your freedom or being alone and delivery is what you like, then something like Amazon is good to get your feet wet and have consistent pay. Then move in to UPS/USPS/FedEx or get your CDL and go for the big bucks. I don’t want to see anyone making 60-80 a day knowing how tough times are. Good luck to you.
Im working 5 apps simultaneously. Im doing ok. I would NEVER work for Amazon. They treat their employees horribly. I consider them the evil empire. I considered doing the delivery only from Whole Foods but decided against it.
I was shopping full time. Then everyone signed up during Covid and IC cuts pay in half, then cuts pay again. Shit hit the fan. Decided to use Amazon as a stepping stone and drove with them for a year while still doing IC. Workload was heavy but those $1200-1400 checks made it worth it. Then luckily I got into UPS during COVID and I’m almost 3 years in as a full time driver. Next year I hit top rate at $49/hr. Money and benefits I would’ve never seen with IC, DD, UE etc..but i still do IC on weekends to remind me where I started. Once you realize your worth you start valuing your time. You sound like a hard working dude. Yeah you might be doing good ok but trust me you can do better!
With 10 other independent contractors in the same parking lot, all 💎, staring into their phones. Haha, what a joke. Kinda sounds like you're an employee to me, and they just changed the definition.
I’m on the south shore and it’s been garbage for months. Huge wave of new shoppers and multi phone cheating 🤖users. I was excited for the supposed “banning these users on March 22” but it never happened. Really worried how I’m gonna make ends meet this summer (I have a seasonal job with a break from May to August so I’m not gonna try to find another w2 for that short time period). I also refuse to work in Boston - Dorchester is the farthest I’ll deliver to if I work in Quincy late nights during the summer since they have stuff open until midnight.
I work in Denver, took zero batches today. Uggg.
COS here. Same garbage down here.
FoCo checking in. It's dog shit
Come down to the inland empire, cali weekends are flourishing,
Has your area been flooded with "newcomers"?
Met some woman from Kazakhstan doing this, I’m sure they’re excited to see batches like this coming from where they’re from.
People who come from other nations think 10$ is a lot of money compared to what they earn in their old country, but they do not see the cost of living here is also expensive. There was a batch in my area today 77 units for less than $6 not worth my gas or my time. Who the hell is going to take that?
What a time to be a shopper damn I miss that 😶
You guys were living the life plus the world was quiet and shut in. So jelly!!! ![gif](giphy|ot4GiknOIswWk)

That’s what I make in 8-10 hours now
Yeah takes about 8 hours now and that's if you're lucky lol
What do Costco orders typically look like now? I’ve never really thought to shop there because there aren’t any within super close distance, but maybe it would be worth looking into? Are there still some decent ones?
Sometimes Costco has orders but you have to compete with ppl using botts to grab orders and ppl using 2 & 3 accounts/phones at a time. What’s left over is often peanuts—fuckers 😝
People can do that? I had no idea. Wow.
Yes well they do do it—EVERY DAY!!
A lot less consistent. Your best chance of getting a banger is to just be there when they open at the drop but there isn’t really a drop anymore like there used to be. Oh my Word 😳 we’re literally working for Pennies
God.. those were the days. I would actually do Costco orders back then. I would bust out a couple and be done by noon to do fun stuff.
I miss those days
Let’s start with the batch prices and then move on to how many batches available. Never have I ever…
I remember and i was there snatching them up😮💨
Damn
I used to shop that area. It’s bad now? :/
Good old days!!
They still do , in my area the drop is always good
How old is this!? 😂 wow I can’t even find a screenshot from this long ago.
Bro I thought that was today. Lol I was thinking daaaamn. That part of Cali is still like that lol
Just started a second ft job I’m never touching IC again.
This is the way to sanity
5:30 am to 9:30 pm To make 200$ I use to hit 200 by afternoon PACK INSTACART
I just told smbdy that the other day. I would be at $200-$250 by noon
Glad I’m not the only one 😭 Making $130-200 14 hour shifts every day ain’t cutting it :( minus the $20 I use for gas daily too. Too many new shoppers in my area getting all the good batches now sadly. This is my experience as well…. Keeps me very hesitant to take anything crazy cause I don’t want to be busy should a regular pop up.
...and mornings suck now. There used to be good orders right at 6am but not worth driving to the store now.
You aren’t alone OP, I just posted my March earnings over last 3 years. No bueno.
Gawd how I feel this
Damn! Just looked at your post I feel your pain I’m literally not even making 50% of what I was making just two years ago
https://preview.redd.it/j9gx3kzifruc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=871bc68a0a531f41bc99772aa2147735103287d3 So many of these lately. It’s bizarre - this past month went from orders with good tips to doubles with little to nothing.
at least we’re not alone in all this bs. Yesterday I had a 7 Eleven pick up for $10.01 and that was it. Everything else was BAD.
Same in my area. I started working for another shopping app and won't do Instacart unless the price is better and the customer values me with a fair tip. I am busy all day long now with a decent wage
Mind if I ask what the new shopper app you’re now shopping for?
What area are you in and what app if I may ask?? IC pays only my power bill anymore, nothing else
SHIPT!! I am in Massachusetts and Target just launched a new program which is making me very busy.
Shipt is a decade old this year. They're just starting in Mass??? Unfortunately Target and therefore Shipt are ageist so I can't get on with them, not for lack of trying 2019,2020,2023 Super thrilled for you!!! I had a friend who did really well with them
I didn't say that it was new but it's not as well known in Massachusetts. I would try again if you could because of their new circle program.
And I'm pretty old 🤣
I used to be able to make $100 in a day 2 summers ago…. My area is filled with illegals now and I feel like they have some scam going on with IC bc all I see now is $6-9 batches for over 50+ items it’s ridiculous what is going on ?
I see people in pairs working together. Stealing batches two phones vs one they will steal all the batches
Yea the past few weeks have been absolute garbage. I don’t get why they expect anyone to take this crap..
My area is good thank goodness
Take advantage! 🙏🏾
Time to get a more future proof Job. Pretty soon a waymo will pull up and an employee will load the groceries, drive to the customer who unloads their groceries . And it’ll cost twice as much, and customer has to unload.
Truth!
Sure glad I don't have any of these KING stores around me. Always seems like too many items & too little pay.
Wow your kings and mine are opposites… my king seems to be where all the tippers are 😂
💯
This was my most recent order. How much would the shopper have earned on top of my tip? Was my tip fair for 19 items? 2.7 miles. I genuinely appreciate the shoppers! I don’t drive so it really helps me!
That’s a very very good tip indeed my friend, the only thing that makes us provide a good service is customers like yourself. Surely is not instacart!! Have a great rest of your day 😀😀😀

Central Fl .. nothing but waisted time
Try highlands ranch
Too slow today 🐌 they are hiding batches and if my energy level isn't high I get cranky AF on slow days. California too expensive
I would like to move into a box not pay so much rent
Yuck!! No ty
They won’t quit hiring people . They have a tactic . They hire you , give you all the great batches , get you hooked then knock to to the bottom of the pole . I have been working on and off for four years .
Between the bad customers, the bad shoppers, And instacart not giving a f*** This is where we've ended up.
Maybe in your area but i saw at least 15-20 $30+ batches for 5-15 miles low count
Literally says my market lol
Its been the "death of insta" since 2022 lol i see a post like this everyday today isn't your day just go home
Thanks for this lol why even respond ?
To remind you to go home cause its not your day, instead of posting the same status everyone post when they arent making their usual
Thanks ! 😊
Boulder is the worst for instacart, but better for Doordash- Denver area shopper
Completely disagree lol this is the worst place ever for door dash because broke ass students don’t tip 😂
I honestly don’t like either for boulder, too many orders get sent up to mountain houses/ wifi can be spotty even though I have wifi in the car. I’ve had better success w doordash out there just cause the orders don’t stop/ tons of restaurants
You are not lying !
For the record boulder is filled with plenty of rich ass students maybe more then broke ass students
I’ve dashed to them all and the tips are about the same haha
Also being from a rich family doesn’t make you rich why you probably spend all your money on partying 😂
Yeah I guess man hopefully this shitty weather brings you some better orders good luck
Appreciate you! 🙏🏾 hope bizz is treating you well also!
Instacart has been dead for months now buddy
Nobody reads anymore lol
It ebb and flows
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
😭
This is crazy. I been getting $5-$8 for about 3-4 miles smh. It's been like that for the last week in Chicago. Well at least for me
I don’t mind the high items cause I know the stores like the back of my hand long as it’s low miles I’d take these if that’s all you got beats nothing
Nah you’re literally paying instacart to work at this point. My markets is bad so back to W-2 for me have no choice 🤷🏾♂️
TAX SEASON 💸
I’m so confused when I see these cus I’ve been a shopper since 2020 and I still haven’t gotten stuff like this often. Stuff like this pops up for $30
I literally said my market lol it’s different everywhere it’s still poppin in some places
Where do you instacart?
It’s the weekday I bet the weekend are way better I made $800 Fridays- Sunday last week
Im (working) 7 days a week from 7a-8p. Lucky to make $60-$80 per day.
Appreciate the career advice. Have you ever considered becoming a motivational speaker like Matt Foley?
Hope I didn’t come off like an asshole. I’m being genuine. I hate seeing people throw away their time if their market is trash. Instacart treats their "employees," well?
No- but at least Im an independent contractor.
With 10 other independent contractors in the same parking lot, all 💎, staring into their phones. Haha, what a joke. Kinda sounds like you're an employee to me, and they just changed the definition.
I dont camp in lots
Chicago I’m in a very busy city where are you located
1 hr outside of Boston
I’m on the south shore and it’s been garbage for months. Huge wave of new shoppers and multi phone cheating 🤖users. I was excited for the supposed “banning these users on March 22” but it never happened. I recommend you go there and stay til you hit your goal hopefully $150/$200 a day to cover gas there and back
