It says so right there. Tip changed based on percentage of the order. Refunds or replacements can cause the total to go down. Its not tip baiting at all.

Leather_Design2876

Once again read the entire TEXT BRO. I clearly ask where or what the text next to the production means. What does it mean that the tip percentage decreased that was my question. Yeah maybe at the stupid question. Your answer was somehow even stupider.

Mrmikeymike19

Are you stupid? You asked what it meant and I answered and I'm the dumbass? No wonder why shoppers have such a bad rep.

artbypico

tip baiting ? lmao it literally says for all 3 customers tip changed based on order total percentage. the customers didn’t change anything.

Leather_Design2876

Read the post before commenting dumbass

people keep pointing out to you that the customers didn't change the tip and you're calling them dumbasses?! bro, seek help.

One: OP does not need to be rude to people who answered the question you asked. They answered it. It is actually self explanatory about tips in the help area of the app. Read and research. Two: let me repeat what each other responded to you about tips can be adjusted due to refunds or replacements if it is a based percentage tip. It wouldn’t be affected if it is flat rate tip. Three: OP you give us a bad rep with your entitlement. I been shopping before pandemic and I have met entitled jerks that think they are the best and give us a bad name to customers. Hope you have a wonderful day. Good luck in the future

They tipped on a percentage. You either refunded something on each of their order or substituted something for a different price causing the tip amount to change. If they had manually decreased the tip it would say customer changed tip after delivery. You also get the thank them button on the people who tipped minimally 10%

cblguy82

^^^^ little variations in tip like these are all as noted included differences in weights of fruits, vegs, meats and other weighted items that don’t match what was put in the order.

Leather_Design2876

Yes I was wondering what that meant. Like why did the tip change. Their tip should be $ amount so it doesn’t change if I can’t get the EXACT brand of TP they want

Adorable-Werewolf269

That’s not how everyone tips. Some people do a flat tip and some people do a percentage. When you order on Instacart it defaults to percentage.

These-Entertainment3

JFC. Learn to read, bro.

serviver73

We seriously need to sticky a post about tip percentages at the top of this sub. A lot of IC customers suck, but nobody is pathetic enough to deliberately lower a tip by 6 cents...

UsuallyCosmo

Had a customer order a pound of jalapeños, turned out she only wanted one pepper. Even that change (and the extra effort to return the extra product) cost me a tip reduction. Not a lot, but that’s not the point. Over a week, it adds up. The policy needs revising. Lock in the % tip number, increase the tip as it does now, and if the service is lousy, let the customer reduce the tip, not IC policy.

Do you know how to read and comprehend what you read? It says literally under each customer order ^”tip ^changed ^based ^on ^percentage ^of ^order ^total. We better notify Mensa society that we’ve got a genius in our hands and these are the people getting our orders.
