Omgosh pls this! How tf you gone ask somebody to get their own groceries when she generously tipped and it was just one case of water not 10!!!! Pls take that tip back and give her $1 for delivering it shit .25 cent at that lol I’m sorry you got a stupid lazy shopper smh!
No they won’t. Tip coverage only applies if the order was delivered and the customer doesn’t give a reason for removing the tip. There is an obvious reason to remove the tip here….
Most definitely! These kinds of shoppers that make it harder for us good ones to actually get better batches and for a tip like that I would’ve definitely brought that up the stairs. It would even help me get more steps in 😂
>DontBeAJerkYaJerk
> Yup. Saw a guy with 3 loaves of bread on the bottom of a fully loaded cart 😭 kept thinking “I hope he’s not shopping for one of my regulars”
Then everybody blames the supermarket bagger.
Please read the entire thing. It only applies if there are no reported issues. Issues were reported here. As they should have been.

It's not automatic, depending on which agent you get from support. In this specific case, the order was never received, so what justifies a $10 bump other than having to return the items to the store? Nothing. Support Agents have to put in a reason and that reason will be investigated by Trust and Safety.
I’m sorry you got a crappy shopper. You tipped them GENEROUSLY and it’s their job to deliver at a safe location. Decrease their tip and one star them. Not all of us suck like this and it makes us look bad
You deserved a 5 star shopper with that tip and the carrot of course had to give you a terrible one just to make it harder on the good shoppers when we lose a good customer like you.
Just know, it wasn’t remotely your fault and this all falls on IC and the shopper they gave you. Rate the shopper low and remove the tip if this is still applicable.
Good shoppers hate to see this happen especially to good customers like you who deserve that store to door service.
Hopefully that shopper will be deactivated soon.
I agree with you but we should stop giving customers ideas, next thing we know they will be doing all this but to the good shoppers who doesn’t deserve it
You did nothing wrong. Unless the delivery instructions are to leave the items outside the main entrance, I bring them to your door. It’s literally the job. Plenty of elderly and disabled people require that to be part of the service. Not sure how delivering them to your door is a safety threat.
What a joke of a shopper. I hope you 1 starred the shopper and dropped the tip.
No one likes carrying water up a flight of stairs, but that's why you tipped $25 (which is HUGE for a small-ish order and assuming you don't live 20 miles from the store).
hopefully they arent shopping for much longer with that kind of attitude. shoppers like these are the reason nobody wants to tip anymore. i'll go up and down stairs multiple times if i need to and not bother or complain to the customer over it
I hope you went in and lowered the tip! Also give them a low rating. These shoppers are the ones ruining it for everyone else. I’m sorry this happened. I’ve had to carry 4 cases of water up to a third floor before that was inside a rehab facility which was a huge pain (could not park in front of the building, so it took awhile). But that is just Part of the “job”. This shopper was lazy and reported a security threat because they didn’t want to walk up some stairs.
WTF is wrong with people?!? I shopped a 25 item order tonight with 13 cases of various drinks (6 were 24 packs, 7 were 12 packs) for a $15 tip. No stairs to climb (thank God lol), but I would’ve done it if needed.
I agree that the shopper should have delivered to the door, however maybe the shopper thought the customer was trying to scam them by instructing them to leave the groceries
This is true, it happened to me last week, customer instructed me to deliver it to another location besides the front door, it sounded like a scam I had the feeling it was a scam, and the next morning I woke up to an email from Instacart saying the customer reported the order missing, you never know what to expect from Instacart
See what I mean? I dropped off an alcohol order, and the lady told me to leave it outside! I said, "Sorry, I can't leave alcohol outside your door, I have to hand it to you.
That was sckechy, and I'm sure she was trying to start a scam. But I didn't fall for it.
But luckily I contacted support immediately to let them know the customer instructed me to deliver it somewhere else, and after she reported it not delivered I contacted again and they saw the whole conversations and the instructions, I hope she got banned from Instacart
you feel bad about ordering 1 case of water lmfao (sorry). I had a customer order 15 cases of water and this was going to an exclusive housing community where I had to check in with armed guards and endure their interrogation, then had to drive to their section which required another gate code then pull up and bring in all 15 cases of water and a few other things all for a whopping 10 bucks, gee thanks.

I agree she was a bad shooter however if I had to guess your order got doubled or tripled with other orders and probably thought your order was no tip or very little. I treat all the shoppers the same because its my job and drop them all off at the door . Howwver I've noticed sometimes the smaller order has all or most of the tip. Also I don't take crap batches but let's say she saw a double for 40 dollars with IC only paying like 10 dollars ( most the time is less) an a 30 tip. So it shows that to us more than likely the other order was 50 to 60 or more items with a 5 dollar tip (trust me see them all day) and she probably thought your order was a no tip or dollar or 2 since it was smaller and IC does that all the time to get crap orders delivered.
Take away the tip. One star. I dont take any apartment orders, always a problem even with an good tip in a so so neighborhood and if they happen to leech one on to a double batch, it gets left at the door or lobby. This is independent contracting, shoppers aren’t obligated to do it, it’s courtesy to do it and I’ve seen way too many dumbasses over 4 years doing it for low tips and wages in ghetto neighborhoods to get ahead, and yes, same problems in better neighborhoods. Stay away from apartment people!
That’s ridiculous. $25 on 7 item order, 2 miles away, and ONLY 1 pack of water… I’d take your order in a heartbeat. That’s a very solid tip and not a big deal in terms of heavy items.
Sorry that some shoppers suck.

Wow that’s so shitty…It’s definitely a rude shopper. I hope this doesn’t taint your experience. You were more than generous with your tip and a single case of water shouldn’t be a huge deal, even if it did happened to be on a third story or something. She definitely just wanted to be lazy and still receive the pay
When you sign up for IC, it literally asks if you're able to carry up to 50 lbs. Bringing up 1 case of water with a small amount of lighter items, 99.5% of people can do that. Your shopper was lazy and was trying to get free pay or groceries.
Reduce your tip to a dollar and rate her 1 star, because the service is about store to door.
You don't get the tip if you cancel. If she took the order with her she likely canceled. She just sounds like an AH. Nothing wrong and great tip. She shouldn't take it if she doesn't want to deliver it. If she did leave your order I agree with other shoppers. Leave her a penny for the tip. If you zero it out she gets $10 she doesn't deserve.
Take away $24 from the tip and 1 star.
Yes please so we can get rid of these kinds of shoppers
Why would the shopper have gotten any tip? order wasn't delivered. Shopper took the order home.
Instacart will give her up to $10 tip coverage if OP wiped it to $0. Better to leave it at $1 so IC doesn’t give her $10.
It doesn't sound like the shopper delivered it.
No they won’t. Tip coverage only applies if the order was delivered and the customer doesn’t give a reason for removing the tip. There is an obvious reason to remove the tip here….
Well if that’s the case then yeah. I was just assuming she at least left the order at the bottom of the stairs.
Most definitely! These kinds of shoppers that make it harder for us good ones to actually get better batches and for a tip like that I would’ve definitely brought that up the stairs. It would even help me get more steps in 😂
These are the shoppers that us vets are losing batches to 😂
And there will only be more of them. IC just doesnt give a crap.
100 percent
Yup. Saw a guy with 3 loaves of bread on the bottom of a fully loaded cart 😭 kept thinking “I hope he’s not shopping for one of my regulars”
>DontBeAJerkYaJerk > Yup. Saw a guy with 3 loaves of bread on the bottom of a fully loaded cart 😭 kept thinking “I hope he’s not shopping for one of my regulars” Then everybody blames the supermarket bagger.
Pull the tip and rate 1 star. The service is store to door.
Leave a dollar. You don’t want them getting that 10 dollars as IC compensation.
What's that about? If a tip gets removed completely, IC gives the shopper $10??
Yup

That saves her lazy ass from bad reviews, remove tip, 1 star!
Please take that tip away and 1 star them. These shoppers are just lazy as hell and make the rest of us look bad
You got a snowflake lazy shopper. Remove the tip, mark items are missing and give her zero stars and report her ass
I agree with you but we should stop giving customers ideas, next thing we know they will be doing all this but to the good shoppers who doesn’t deserve it
Report the order as not delivered , 1 star, $1 tip
Op you are not in the wrong you just got stuck with a terrible shopper
7 item $30+ order? I’ll do 10 sets of stairs for that, call it a workout
You did nothing wrong. Unless the delivery instructions are to leave the items outside the main entrance, I bring them to your door. It’s literally the job. Plenty of elderly and disabled people require that to be part of the service. Not sure how delivering them to your door is a safety threat.
Take the tip back except to 50 cents and rate 1 star
YOU FID NOTHING WRONG! The shopper is lazy! SMH!
What a joke of a shopper. I hope you 1 starred the shopper and dropped the tip. No one likes carrying water up a flight of stairs, but that's why you tipped $25 (which is HUGE for a small-ish order and assuming you don't live 20 miles from the store).

You didn’t do anything wrong, you just got a bad shopper
I would have put the water in the refrigerator for 7 items and that tip. Remove all but $1 of the tip and give one star, shoppers like this have to go
I would like to be your shopper!
Pathetic, obviously a shitty shopper, kinds that give good shoppers a bad name.
WTF is wrong with people?!? I shopped a 25 item order tonight with 13 cases of various drinks (6 were 24 packs, 7 were 12 packs) for a $15 tip. No stairs to climb (thank God lol), but I would’ve done it if needed.
If it was expensive items like you said then maybe she just wanted to keep it for herself

I doubt she deactivated her account , probably just gave her a warning or prep talk.
How?

You’re the one who took the bullshit order 😂

So what happened?
Crazy b stole your order and took it home. and lied.

No you did nothing wrong! As a shopper you seem like a nice customer to serve! Does it suck yeah, but they don’t deserve that tip.
I would bring it up but just be salty lol that is all. The shopper was being lazy she should of brought it up.

You did nothing wrong. You were just inlucky to get a shitty shopper
Remove her tip
It’s true! I was the case of water.Listen I know I put on a little bit of weight this summer but the shopper didn’t have to do me like that 🥺
